Staying at Casa Celeste is like staying at your own nature park! This incredible location is a natural corridor for much of Costa Rica’s animal inhabitants. Casa Celeste~2 bedroom beachfront home and property is located in Mal Pais. It is the perfect spot for those looking for privacy and relaxation; yet close to the center of town. This incredible tropical location will cradle you in comfort. Enjoy the soothing sound of the waves from every point of this house. Both bedrooms are large enough to add extra air mattresses with still plenty of room to spread out. All amenities are there for your comfort including two full bathrooms with showers, kitchen, satellite TV, wireless internet, telephone, outdoor shower, hammocks, air conditioning, board games, ceiling fans, car port and outdoor patio dinning area. The spacious outdoor patio/veranda is the perfect place to enjoy the ocean breeze, watch the waves, and unwind. Casa Celeste is perfect for lazy days of sunning and swimming while sipping on your favorite drink. Right out front you can enjoy a dip in the huge private tide pools. Experience fabulous sunsets every evening. The sun sets right out front. This is the ideal spot for the perfect family vacation or romantic couples get-away. At Casa Celeste we provide you with an onsite caretaker who's favorite thing to do is to take care of everything! If you are looking to experience the "Pura Vida" lifestyle; you've come to the right place!
For those interested in surfing there is a left point break within a short distance, and for the more experienced surfers there is a right point break steps from the property. About 500 meters north, experience the World Famous beaches of Playa Carmen ( 1 minute drive) and Santa Teresa (3 minute drive) and Playa Hermosa Beach (10 min drive). There is much to explore in our roughly 6km of flat dirt road and little villages. We look forward to hosting you!

We are always available via email for anything and everything. We live full time in Los Angeles. Vicente, our caretaker is always available in person. He speaks English and Spanish and has lived in Mal Pais for the last 15 years.

The Mal Pais, Santa Teresa, Playa Carmen & Playa Hermosa area/villages are in our opinion the greatest place in all of Costa Rica! Might as well be the same town. It's roughly 6km of flat dirt road between all of them. You can easily get around by car, bicycle, ATV, taxi or walk the beach. Lots to see and explore. Great international cuisine. World Class beaches and the town feels rustic and international. Its an amazing place to visit! The nature and wildlife are spectacular!

You can rent a car, bicycles, ATV's, taxis, or walk the beach to get around town.

Casa Celeste was absolutely perfect for our stay in Mal Pais. Vicente was so helpful from arrival to departure! The wifi didn't really work- but not why we came to the beach :) Diana and Ran's recommendations were so helpful and all excellent- koji's sushi was the best ever! The view from Casa Celeste is amazing and the location is perfect! We would love to return!

The best example of Paradise we have ever been to. Vincente was wonderful and a big help. Extremely relaxing in between all of the incredible activities including Surf lessons, day trip to Curu and Tortuga Island, Horseback Riding directly from the back of Casa Celeste, and an amazing hike to Montezuma Waterfall. The best trip ever!!!

Hello! Thanks so much for the use of your was quite a lovely location! When we arrived there was no electricity upstairs (except air in the main bedroom). Vincent was wonderful to work at getting it fixed. There was also a sewer smell on and off coming out of the sink in the ensuite bathroom - not sure what can be done about that! We picked your home in part because of the air person in our party is asthmatic. For that reason, we left the air conditioners on when leaving the house (although we turned the temperature up to 27 so that we used less hydro) so that breathing was not an issue for her. We realized within a couple of days that Vincent (we assume) was turning a breaker off until we returned as the air wasn't fresh and the devices we left charging weren't fully charged. Again, this is not a cheap rental and we therefore, found this annoying. To be fair, we did not communicate any of this to Vincent so he is not to blame. We found him both charming and very helpful! His gardens were amazing!

Response from Ran:
Hi Andra. Thank you for your 4 star review! :) We are very sorry to hear you had an issue upon arrival with the power. Happy to hear Vicente and our staff fixed it right away. As for the on/off sewer smell from one of the sinks; given the knowledge lots can be done when any issue it is brought to our attention. Your are right, it is not Vicente's fault. The entire village is on a septic system. When anything is flushed other than toilet paper; it can back up the system. You are also correct about turning off all lights and A/C units in each room when guests leave for the day upon completion of Vicente tidying up the house. Costa Rica is an eco conscious country. We are too. It takes 10 minutes to cool down the house/rooms. We would have gladly adjusted to your friend's asthmatic needs if we knew about it. While the A/C units are not hydro they do run off electricity. We never cut the breaker as this would set off the alarm to command central that there is a problem which would also set off a series of security events. We do however conserve energy when guests are out and about enjoying the village. Vicente is always available to make all of guests happy and feeling relaxed. We respect and understand all guests have individual needs. We chose to respond to your review in hopes all future guests and families feel confident to communicate any and all needs to Vicente or us. His favorite part of being a caretaker is to make sure our guests needs are being met. Be it a tour guide reservation or an issue with the house itself, our staff is always available, happy and prompt to help. It is our pleasure and goal to make sure all of our guests have a relaxing and enjoyable experience during their visit. We are delighted to learn you enjoyed the location. Thank you for choosing Casa Celeste as your home away from home.

Case Celeste is very nicely situated close to the beach and to great tide pools for swimming, the house is a bit dark but you spend most of your time outside which is lovely. You can walk to a great restaurant or to the beach. If you are looking for absolute privacy this may not be the place for you as many people and horses and dogs cross through the property several times a day, also there is a caretaker who stays in the property right next to your living space, having said that, he does take care of the space and is valuable but you trade off privacy to have him around. We saw monkeys and iguanas and were really surprised at the lack of mosquitos - amazing sunsets and sunrises everyday.

We loved our stay at Casa Celeste, Vicente (the caretaker) was very kind, helpful and knowledgeable. It is about 1.3 Kilometers from the main town in Santa Teresa. Very private home and a nice beach right on property. It's a rocky beach but a short walk to more beautiful beaches for surf and swim. Make sure you check out the "secret" beach at the end of town. Would love to stay here again!

Outstanding location, house, and set up as a whole. We were isolated, had our own beach cove (can't swim right in the back, but can swim at a beautiful beach only 10 min walking along the beach). Vicente (looks over the house) is a great guy and does a great job with the property. Owners are very efficient with communication. Go to The Bakery, food is on point.

Casa Celeste is a beautiful beach house steps from the sand. Staying at Casa Celeste is like staying at your own nature park. Tropical birds, monkeys, horses, iguanas, butterflies, and sometimes even whales breaching can all be seen from the covered outdoor veranda. It's truly paradise!
Thank you for your consideration. We look forward to meeting you.
