My sweet turn of the century cottage is located on 2 acres in the village of Mill River, MA. This is truly the best of both worlds - you get the quiet seclusion of a house nestled in the woods, across from the Konkopot River, with accessibility to everything the Berkshires has to offer. The village of New Marlborough (of which Mill River is part of) is tiny and picturesque, but it offers 3 exceptional restaurants (The Inn on the Green, Southfield Store, and Mepal Manor, which is also a world-class spa), a well stocked general store, and many gorgeous and public natural wonders (Umpachene Falls, Campbell Falls, Questing, Dry Hill Reservation). 10 minutes to Great Barrington, 20 minutes to Infinity Hall in Norfolk,CT, 30 minutes to Tanglewood. Perfect accomodations if you need a place to stay when attending a wedding or event at Gedney Farm or Mepal Manor (both are 2 miles down the road). Bedrooms are beautifully furnished - one with 2 twin beds and one with an antique double bed, both with ceiling fans, plus a sofa bed for one in the downstairs parlour. One full bath on first floor, fully equipped kitchen with Viking stove and dishwasher, formal dining room, parlour with bay window. During the spring and summer, a spacious screened porch is perfect for dining and relaxing, as well as herb and vegetable gardens for the ultimate in locavore harvesting. A charcoal barbeque is available for use as well. Wireless internet (password upon request), Direct TV. Please view the pictures of the cottage and property - words cannot do it justice!
PLEASE NOTE: There is no cell service at the house or surrounding area, and is spotty in the Berkshires in general. Guests are welcome to make and receive calls on the landline and voicemail password can be given upon request. I only accept reservations from people with completed profiles, and there is a three night minimum for the holiday weekends of Memorial Day , July 4th and Labor day.

Love house. Perfect spot for a nice quiet getaway. Jennifer was very communicative and friendly. The house was just perfect! Thank you!!
My boyfriend and I stayed at Jennifer's house for a weekend in early October. The house is nicely decorated - particularly the kitchen, which you'll enjoy especially if you do a lot of cooking or baking. It's very well stocked!
Pluses: pleasant kitchen, very comfortable bedding, lovely towels, soaps & bathrobes in the bathroom, large yard, close to beautiful countryside & interesting history (e.g. Stockbridge, etc.), and all interactions with Jennifer as a host
Minuses: for some reason we felt really disturbed by and uncomfortable with the energy in the house from the moment we walked in. We could not shake the feeling the entire time. There is a very old graveyard across the street which, to be honest, didn't seem to be the problem - we enjoyed walking around it and appreciating the history. But for reasons we couldn't explain we both had very strong negative reactions to something energy-wise and so would unfortunately not be able to recommend this location to anyone who is at all sensitive to things like that.
Conclusion: a good place to stay with a big group where you can fill the house with a lot of positive & vibrant energy. Would avoid if you are solo or sensitive to energy/vibes of places.
I regret that Emily and her boyfriend had a negative experience at the cottage. I'm happy to say that I, and many others, have stayed here alone, as a couple, family or small group and have had nothing but good times here. Case in point, I stayed here by myself on Halloween and enjoyed myself (sorry ghost hunters- no paranormal activity ;)) Thank you for the nice things you said, Emily, but to me, positive energy is something you bring inside you; if it's not there, no outside forces can overcome it. Please read my other reviews - it's a setting that has proved to be rejuvenating, relaxing, and comforting to all. Conclusion: unless you are scared of the bogeyman - a great place to stay!
Pictures were accurate, and host was quick to reply to questions. Overall a great experience. Highly recommended.
Wonderful storybook victorian cottage in the perfect position for exploring the Berkshires and enjoing a relaxing vacation. Jennifer was a perfect host and let us live the Berkshires as if it was our home.
Our stay at Jennifer's house in the Berkshires was very comfortable. We especially enjoyed having breakfast each morning in the screened in porch area.
Jennifer was transparent with the bookings process, and everything about the house was exactly as described -- it made for a great weekend with my family in Great Barrington. Jennifer was a great hostess!
Jennifer is very thorough and easy to communicate with. We and our friends were very comfortable and happy to stay here for our nearby wedding! The house is full of Berkshire charm.
the house and place are really wonderfull, and Jennifer was very kind and helpful with us,a perfect host!!We would have been there much more time and not just only two nights! For who need to spend a few days in great barrington is the perfect solution!!
Cute little house! We felt like home and had a wonderful stay.
What an incredible weekend! Jennifer's house is just perfect, super comfortable. The house is exactly as described in the internet. We would recommend the house to anyone and we are looking forward to come back soon. Dealing with Jennifer was a pleasure and she prepared a welcome letter that explained everything concerning the house and the surroundings including tips where to shop and go for food. we did not need to ask her a thing. The overall experience was great.
