It was such a wonderful experience to stay in Hidemi San's share house. It is really cosy and warm. I arrived really late on the night I got there because I got confused on the train. They wait until 12 and keep in touch with me. They made my bed and showed me around the house about how to use everything. I made a lot of friends there. Hidemi San and her husband are really nice people. They prepared different kind of maps for each of the guest and give great suggestion about the place to go. They also brought us to Onsen and had dinner together. I learned a lot of Japanese culture from them. Hidemi San helped me to send my luggage with Yamato and drive me to the subway station the last day. And thank you so much for the little gifts, they are tasty! I am really honor to stay with them. It is definitely one of the highlights of my entire trip! I highly recommend it!
It was just a amazing Time!
I could write so much but i think if i say "i come again!" it should be clear how dos it is.
Thanks for all!
Hidemi was awesome! Her rental home is close to the subway. s I did not check my email for two days, so I missed her email on directions to her house. So I called her from the subway to let her know i was there. She kindly picked me up which was a tremendous blessing as I had two suit cases and needed help with it. She took me to her house and gave me Japanese red bean bun and green tea. Her rental house is very comfortable and the room accommodates 3 women on the 3rd floor, not feeling crowded but just right. The kitchen is big and well organized. Hidemi is very attentive to her guest's needs and makes sure everything is OK with the guest. If she does not know the answer to a tourist question she researches it and gives it to you, example tea ceremony which I wanted to go to. She gives the guest a packet of information on Kyoto, maps, directions of her home etc which is a great help to us. She visits her rental home to make sure everything is clean.
I can't say enough about her as she is a gracious Japanese hostess! I highly recommend you stay there, you will feel at home.
Hidemi- Thank you for you hospitality!
I highly recommend staying here! Hidemi is SO lovely and has a nice family. If you need help you can trust her! The share house is very clean and has everything you would need. It's a great introduction into a typical Japanese house, has the tatami floors and sliding screens and modern toilet...everything is great! It is only about 7 minutes walk to the subway station and is really easy to get around Kyoto. If you ever have any problems just ask Hidemi, she will do her best to help you! There is free wi-fi which is very helpful. Oh there is am AMAZING bakery just 5 minutes walk on the main road called the Little Stone bakery, which is really convenient you can just pop in there and grab breakfast whilst on your way to the train station. There is a 7 eleven and a Lawson again only about 5 minutes walk which are 24 hour. So location of the house is convenient. If you are going to stay somewhere here in Kyoto, especially if it is your first time in Japan then my biggest recommendation is to stay with a really nice person like Hidemi because she will always be happy to help. Thank you Hidemi ^___^
Friendly host.Clear room.
Comfortable and convenient
Hidemi is such a wonderful and helpful host. When I found out the metro was not working due to flooding, she came and picked me up at the nearest train station. She was warm and welcoming and even brought sweets to the house for the full moon festival. The share house is in a quiet neighborhood so it is a little far from the city center, but is very peaceful. Overall a great experience!
Hidemi is very nice and helpful person. She give you many introduction about Kyoto and try to make your trip easy!
The shared house is very clean. It's a little far away from center but from in walking distance Nagitsuji station you can go in 15 min. to the center or anywhere. When you want to go Osaka, Hidemi show us discount ticket, pick Yamashina station. From Tokai shop you can buy 500 yen rapid train ticket and it goes direct to Osaka in 27 min.
I had a wonderful five nights staying in the sharehouse. Hidemi and her husband Aki were very welcoming to me: taking me on a trip to the beautiful Lake Biwa, showing me a local onsen, helping me navigate the streets during Okuribi festival, introducing me to lots of delicious food at an izakaya in the centre of the city and bringing amazing Japanese sweets and ice cream round to the house for us to try! They also made every effort to help with my explorations and onward travel, looking up hiking routes in the surrounding mountains and even giving me a lift to the station for Osaka. They are both very thoughtful people and interesting to talk to.
The room was very clean and cool, and the bed very comfy. There's also a lot of space in the kitchen to store groceries if you want to do some of your own cooking. There's just one shower/toilet for the whole sharehouse, but this wasn't a problem at all when I was there. The location is good if you want to see a local neighbourhood away from the tourist sites, yet have very easy access by subway to the East of the city.
I will definitely be recommending this place in the future, thank you for everything!
Staying at Hidemi's place was a great experience! It's a shared house up above Kyoto (approx. 30mn by bike to the city center), clean and with all amenities. Nearby is a supermarket and a drugstore, some very nice restaurants also. The whole area is quiet and safe. Totally recommended, especially for backpackers.
And Hidemi is a wonderful host, she immediately makes you feel as part of a big home. I'm really glad I've met her during my journey in Japan, she's such a sweet and kind person! She welcomes you with a smile, gives you maps and precious advices, shows you the places or events you need to know about. Thank you Hidemi!!
I can't say anything that hasn't already been said about how amazing Hidemi and her family are. She immediately made me feel welcomed and kept in contact with me to make sure if I needed help with any of my plans. She drove me to a temple pretty far away from the share house so I could get started on a long day of sight seeing early. Her family took me to an Onsen one evening and we got sushi together. As far as the house is concerned, it was a very nice share house with ever amenity you would need. It's really quick and easy to get into downtown Kyoto from the share house. The neighborhood is really nice and has some really great restaurants. If I go back to Kyoto (which I plan on because I loved the city so much) I will definitely stay here again. It was really a fantastic experience. If you are staying in Kyoto I can not recommend her share house enough. I know this might sound a little over the top, but I had an absolute perfect experience staying at her share house.
