Be respectful of personal property and take care of our beautiful home!
Mark was very attentive as a host. Even though he was away he stayed in constant contact to make sure our arrival was as smooth as it could be. We loved the area even though arriving at night can be a little tricky. In the mornings it is absolutely beautiful and relaxing.
In the master bedroom the shower has a single shower head on one side and a double shower head on the other side. The kitchen was put to use both mornings by us as we made two delicious breakfasts and Mark has any cooking apparatus that you would need.
He left wine for us and a homemade sauce for us that we are partaking in here at our home. It was chilly both nights of our stay but the double sided fireplace in the main area does a tremendous job of heating the place. We had to turn it down in the early morning and open the windows to cool the house down. We almost didn't go to our scheduled event on Saturday in Birmingham as we were enjoying the scenery and lounging around the home.
We would definitely recommend this location and Mark will make you feel at home.
The house was great and Mark was very accommodating with requests and questions throughout the stay. Can't ask for anything more with a well stocked kitchen ready for some serious cooking.
Wow--this house is seriously amazing. From the pictures, it looks too good to be true, but it's even better than the advertising. Mark, the host, is gracious, welcoming and very flexible. The location is remote enough that you really feel like you are getting away. The lakefront is gorgeous and the water the perfect temperature (in September). I enjoyed laying out on the dock and watching the lake activities. I recommend bringing groceries; the kitchen is huge and you'll have everything you need to make all your meals...you'll never want to leave this place.
We had a great time at the lake house. Everything was exactly as described in the description. We plan to be back soon!
Yes, we do lose that battle every 3 or 4 days (they like the view, and the breeze)...so we have to do our rounds with our natural "web stick" (we leave on the front porch, also seconds as our walking stick). Apologies, as i did forget to ask this get checked prior to your stay. Thanks again and look forward to your return!
Wonderful lake house with beautiful view. Dock access for swimming and fishing was very nice. We had a wonderful time. Amenities as advertised. Mark was easy to contact and had helpful tips about the surrounding area.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. I would, however, suggest getting to the lake house during the day as trying to get there at night can be a little tricky with some of the turns and side streets. There's a lot of space. Great view! Also, different things to do...ping pong, darts, fishing, BBQ on the back porch, etc. Mark was nice enough to leave some wine, cheese and crackers, and his famous BBQ sauce. We had an issue with the heater during our stay, so we were a bit chilly inside, but other than that, we all enjoyed our time there.
Mark's place but absolutely perfect for our vacation. We spent the weekend at the NASCAR races at Talladega - and were able to enjoy the evenings and mornings at the house, and enjoyed some time on the dock overlooking the beautiful lake. The house is absolutely beautiful inside and includes everything you could possibly need - full kitchen, awesome open concept floor plan with 3 big bedrooms (2 with ensuites), pool table, ping pong table, darts, bbq, comfortable couches for watching movies on the big screen tv. Mark was a pleasure to deal with, always available for questions and really cared about how we were enjoying our stay and that we had everything we needed. As an added bonus he left us wonderful steaks for the arrival of our first evening; and letting us use his spices etc. really helped on the grocery bill. We would highly recommend this as an amazing alternative to a hotel if staying for a race weekend - the trip to the track is only 30 minutes and the back roads beat the traffic on race day out of the track.
