Interaction with Guests
I live on the premises, and am happy to provide any assistance to help make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Very quiet, tree-lined street, with plenty of charm and lots of great architecture.
The Pasadena Arts Buses run regularly, and stop almost in-front of the residence.
Loud parties, smoking or excessive drinking are not allowed on the premises.
Michal Conner is a terrific host. He has made me feel more like family or a friend than a guest. He has gone out of his way to make sure my stay is a great experience. Michal is a professional classical musician and I have been fortunate to listen to the musical scores he has created, perfecting his music by playing on his 1909 Steinway and sons piano. A real treat. On cool nights, Michal will make “epic” fires in the living room quarters and provides excellent complimentary wine. The rooms are decorated with museum and art-like pieces that gives the home a comfortable and mellow vibe.
The backyard garden area is amazing and I enjoyed relaxing, reading and listening to music there. A great place to chill out. Michal is a Master Gardener and very passionate about his rare plants. He will give you a tour of his garden if you choose! The B&B is a charming 1920s Spanish style home shaded by trees, plants, and flowers. It is visited twice daily by a flock of wild Pasadena parrots (yes, really – a fun experience). The home is conveniently located, close to downtown shops, restaurants, museums and nightclubs. Hiking trails in the foothills are a few minutes away. The Rose Bowl is approximately 10 minutes away by car. I highly recommend the place and you could not ask for a better B&B or a more accommodating host, Michal Conner.
I have stay at the Oasis several times and always feel comfortable there. Michal warmly welcomes me back each time with a glass of wine or cup of tea. He's very accommodating and helpful if needed but leaves his guests alone to go about their business in private. He has several beautiful sitting areas inside and out that always call me to rest with a book or my writing pad. And it's right on a convenient bus line that takes you into town for a day of sightseeing or shopping. Highly recommended!
Michal was a wonderful host, the house is beautifully furnished and we had a lovely and relaxing time. We would certainly return to the Oasis!
We really really enjoyed staying with Michal and we had the best time ever at an airbnb place! Michal was extremely welcoming especially when he found out we shared a passion for plants. The description was absolutely accurate and the bed very comfortable, shame we couldn't stay in it longer due to too much chatting!
We thoroughly recommend it and hope to stay there again next time we are in LA
Michal is delightful, accomplished and a gracious host! As a collector of eclectic furnishings, books and plants, he radiates fascination. A great location in Pasadena. Our room was a little on the small side, but with run of the entire downstairs, it gave an expansive feeling.
Michal is the perfect host. He greets you as though you were long lost family with a smile, enthusiasm, a tour of his garden & home & a glass of wine. His joy is infectious as is his enthusiasm for his art, music & Pasadena.
Michal is the consummate host. He welcomed me w/ a piece of his homemade apple pie ala mode & a bottle of red wine. I felt more like family than a traveler in a a B&B. Michal didn't wait for me to ask (in fact, he provided services I would never have dared to ask) but anticipated my needs. His welcome is warm & his laugh is infectious. I'll be back!!!

About the Host, Michal
Greetings! I am a classical musician, with a definite appreciation for all the Fine Arts-
Raised and educated back-east, and loving the warmth and kindness of Southern Californians! Gardening with rare, tropical plants- and visiting local museums, are definitely high on my list... along with attending concerts, antique shops, and new restaurants in the area. I enjoy sharing my home with fellow travelers, who are looking to discover what a great place that Pasadena is!
