Debora was a true gem in making our stay wonderful. The cottage is perfectly located in West Hollywood and close to Whole Foods and so many restaurants. I will definitely return if I get a chance to visit LA again.
A lovely little apartment down a very quaint alleyway which was lit with strings of fairy lights and had some lovely pink flowers growing over the fences. The semi-private terrace was also lovely with a couple of chairs and a table so you could sit out and enjoy a cup of tea, have breakfast etc. The bed was very comfortable and there were fresh towels and bedding on our arrival. It is a great location – very safe and not far from some great places to eat / drink. There is parking on the street but watch out for the 'street cleaning' days where you have to move your car between 8 and 10am (but just one one side of the road). There were a couple of snags (cold tap in bathroom broken, door handle to bedroom broken) which once fixed, will make the place event better! Whilst on the way to the airport I thought I had forgotten my purse. I called Barbara and she immediately called the cleaner who was already at the property. Fortunately my friend had picked it up and I was reunited with it once at the airport but Barbara was quick to respond and help me in my moment of panic!
The host was not present however made everything easy for us to arrive and get into the cottage safely. My cousin and I had a very pleasant stay, everything was as described and kept clean. The neighbourhood seemed quite safe however we still kept alert as there were a few homeless around. The Whole Foods supermarket across the road was fabulous and made it easy for us to get a healthy meal every night. Overall would recommend this cottage for anyone looking for good location at a great price!
The apartment was spacious, pretty clean and overall as described. Barabara was reachable all day (and night) and we could enter the place whenever we wanted to. The whole place isnt of course high end, but its kept in decent shape and there was nothing we could complain about. Therefore we would visit everytime again.
Loved our stay at Barbara's, did not really have any need for communication though it was made clear that if we needed, she was available. Lovely bungalow, well represented in the posting, very comfortable and spacious. Perfect location, good neighbourhood, and pretty central for Los Angeles. Will definitely try to book for next years holiday trip.
I've now stayed in the cottage 2x for extended periods. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be staying there again. The positives are that both Debora & the owners are exceptionally nice people. The owners live behind the cottage but there's still plenty of privacy. It's also in a terrific WeHo location that's walkable to Whole Foods, Starbucks and the shopping, restaurants and flea market on Melrose. The parking permit, wireless, laundry and A/C are all added bonuses. However, it's just in too much of a general state of disrepair. It's needs some investment and upgrading to be a viable rental. The window coverings are half falling apart, the toilet barely functions, and the kitchen and bath need a serious remodel. It has great potential but without some upgrading I can no longer recommend it. The toilet requires a plunger almost every time you use it although it seems to work when empty and if checked quickly as the owners did during my recent stay. It's low flow but there's often no complete flush. The cable tv isn't really cable tv, just the most basic channels. The shower, bathroom sink and kitchen are what you might find in a fixer upper. Just not worth the trade-offs any more until some investment is made in the property to upgrade the infrastructure.
