About This Listing
We have a lovely spot for a restful stay. Located between Rochester and the Finger lakes, our farm is set on a private hilltop overlooking 48 acres of open meadows, a perfect place to see sunrise, sunset, the stars, the moon, and the Milky Way. You will have your own suite within the main house. The bedroom has a double bed and bathroom with a shower. Additionally there is a den with a double futon. The den opens up to a screened in south facing porch which offers a spectacular view of the drumlins, and accommodates a dining table and chairs, and even enough room for the futon for summer sleeping.(The fireflies are amazing in the summer) Off the porch is a shared patio with tables and a fire pit. Our 2 hens (who will never be eaten) gift us daily with eggs, so if you would like fresh eggs for breakfast, we have them. Scout, our resident feline, keeps things running smoothly. The setting is perfect for a getaway or a retreat. I am a licensed psychotherapist, Reiki Practitioner, Equine Assisted Psychotherapist, and provide healing ceremonies to anyone interested for an additional charge. Massage therapy, outside or inside, can also be arranged for an extra charge. If you are traveling with your horse(s) I have 3 stalls and large pastures for their use.
Free wi-fi and laundry facilities are available. No TV. We will provide linens and towels. Our water is from a well so is non- fluoridated.
We are 5 miles from Palmyra where there are grocery stores, restaurants, and antique shops, among other things. Rochester is 20 miles west, and the Finger Lakes trails and wineries are an hour or so drive. Bike paths along the Erie Canal are easily accessible from our place.
For additional guests, another room with a double bed and private bath can be made available for an additional charge.
We look forward to having you stay with us.
Guests can have access to our full shared kitchen. Special arrangements made depending upon your needs. We are a vegetarian household so do not want meat prepared in our kitchen.
We ask that you honor the land with respect and peace. No drugs, loud music, or drama.
Ann is a good hostess. We spent 3 restful nights. We had a private Room with à private batheroom, a livingroom and a patio for us. It´s a very beautiful area.
We visit the wine road of Finger lakes, did a Cruise, walking around lakes etc. The weather was perfect
Thanks Ann for everything.
We recently stayed at Blackhawk Hill with our German Shepherd puppy. Ann made all three of us feel very welcome. The location was beautiful with views of rolling country hills from the screened in porch (where we actually slept one night). We had a nice quiet country road to take the dog for walks and enjoyed our evenings listening to the peepers and the local resident owl. This is an idyllic spot where you can truly feel relaxed and at ease. Many thanks to Ann and Stu for being so accommodating with our young pup – he enjoyed his stay as much as we did. :-)
Ann's country estate is beautiful and restful. A few short minutes from route 90, this would make a great stop along the way between Albany and Buffalo. Ann was very careful to give us our own space, but also kindly showed us her lovely horse barn and shared her frig. We particularly liked the screen porch area for playing games as a family and appreciated the option to expand into an adjacent room with a double bed for our family of 4 with opposite gender teens. And nothing beats a few Hershey's kisses in a bowl. Thanks so much for welcoming us, Ann!
What a wonderful, peaceful place to stay. Waking up each morning to a view of green pastures, rolling hills, and horses was a treat. Ann added all the perks - fresh cut roses, a super comfortable bed, and tea/coffee and snacks always available. I wish I could have spent more time just enjoying the surroundings. This would be a great first stop on a cross country trip, or just a nice place not too far off route 90 for an overnight or a weekend away. Ann offered to move the futon into the screened-in porch if I wanted to sleep outside (which I would have done if it were a bit warmer). The suite was nicely decked out, very tidy, and homey but not cluttered. Overall, it's a really pretty area, a thoughtfully laid out guest suite, and a very friendly proprietor. For this city girl, this was truly a heavenly "country" experience.
About the Host, Ann
I enjoy the peace and quiet of our land, relaxing with my two grown children, playing with my horses, and learning new things. I like to share our place with others.
