Me, my wife, and a friend stayed with Simon for only one night. Both Simon and Eileen were very welcoming and helpful. Ullapool is a lovely and interesting town, and Simon's house is in an amazing location, right on the seafront. Simon made a top quality breakfast on the morning of our departure. As others have pointed out, the wooden house can be a bit noisy with regards to footsteps on the first floor. If we stayed longer than a night, the lack of a common area to hang out in may have been a problem. Overall, the house has a lot of character and would recommend it to others.
our host made us feel very welcome , showed us round and cooked us a wonderful breakfast the next morning. rooms cosy and full of character yet also had WiFi. the description of the premises and their location were accurate but perhaps understated the charm of the accommodation.
Simon was terrific, as was his home. He was very easy to contact and we had a nice conversation over breakfast. He was happy to accommodate our group, which included a dog. The home is centrally located and was very clean and nicely appointed. The shower was hot. Breakfast was excellent. I would definitely stay here again.
Perfect location and wonderful breakfast! Very nice rooms and Simon was a wonderful host and so helpful. We will be back!!
Great location, big breakfast, and friendly hosts. Simon's home made a perfect stop on our journey through the Highlands. Ullapool is a lovely little town that we look forward to visiting again!
We were greeted by the host's wife who literally just showed us our room and then the bathroom which I was shocked to learn was not en suite. On reading the description again I realise that because a bathroom was not mentioned I automatically assumed it would be en suite. I do think shared bathroom should have been part of the description. The view from the room and it's location were great. The other thing is the room was directly underneath the host's living area and there was no insulation between the floors it was literally the floor boards from the room above straight onto joists so we could hear every word and footstep. It was as if they were in the room with us.
