This wood-paneled, 4,000 sq ft home with its 8ft stone fireplace, wall of windows and 100ft deck that overlooks the pond and mountains is amazing--furnished in nostalgic 1970's style reminiscent of the time when rock musician Steve Miller lived here.

The space
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its architectural significance, this large beautiful house with its rolling 500 acre forest/meadow surroundings has seen a lot of history:
1860’s land grant homestead
1940’s cutting edge architecture,
1970’s home of rock musician Steve Miller (“Fly Like an Eagle”),
1999 home of non-profit Pacifica
If you're interested, information is available about many of these eras.

Here is a description of sleeping spaces! One bedroom has a queen bed. An adjoining bedroom is very large, so we have divided it with a partition, and thus it has two queen beds. Both of these rooms have adjacent bathrooms. The adjoining gallery room has a futon and sofa bed. One bedroom on the lower floor has a queen bed and a full, and its own bathroom. The other lower bedroom has a queen bed and 2 twins, with a half bath halfway up a stairway.

Guest access
Sited on 500 acres in the middle of the Applegate Valley, this home is far from the road and city lights so you can enjoy “get-away-from-it-all” seclusion and tranquility. However, it's still only 25 minutes from Grants Pass, 45 minutes from Medford (which has a commercial airport), and 1 ¼ hours from Ashland.

Although we’re working on it, the home and bathrooms are currently NOT ADA accessible.

Other things to note
Pacifica is a non-profit: your rental fee helps to support Pacifica’s educational efforts.

With its semi-rustic character and location, please don't expect manicured grounds around the house. With no irrigation system, the landscape at this time consists of plants that will survive complete summer drought, which is the norm for this climate (although the "lawn" area is watered and mowed to keep it green).

On site: catch-and-release fishing in the large pond, hiking/bird watching trails, disc golf (bring your own discs), horseshoes,
Forestfarm plant nursery to visit and/or (with pre-arrangement) work/learn,
