Beautiful area

Guests love this home’s scenic location.
Charming and rustic, wood-paneled, 4,000 sq ft home, located within Pacifica: A Garden in the Siskyous. Huge wraparound deck overlooking the mountains and Heron Pond. Nostalgic 70's cabin style, reminiscent of when rock musician Steve Miller lived here.

The space
Grandly situated on the shore of Heron Pond, this truly beautiful house is nestled in an iconic 420 acre forest/meadow nature and educational center called Pacifica: A Garden in the Siskiyous. Listed as one of the Historic Places in Oregon on the National Register, this home has had a long history:
• 1860’s land grant homestead
• 1940’s cutting edge architecture
• 1970’s home of rock musician Steve Miller (“Fly Like an Eagle”)
• 1999 center piece residence at Pacifica: A Garden in the Siskiyous, a non-profit educational nature center.

Although the space is private and tucked away, the Pond House is located within Pacifica. It is a lively place, so there may be events happening during your stay, hikers walking around, people riding horses, or kids taking classes at outdoor school during the day.

Other things to note
Pacifica: A Garden in the Siskiyous is a non-profit: your rental fee supports Pacifica Garden's educational efforts.

With its "rustic cabin" character and location, please don't expect manicured grounds around the house. With no irrigation system, the landscape at this time consists of plants that will survive complete summer drought, which is the norm for this climate (although the "lawn" area is watered and trimmed to keep it green).

NOTE: although we’re working on it, the home and bathrooms are currently NOT ADA accessible
