Beautiful one bedroom house in the rice fields with a beautiful two tiered pool, wifi, security, kitchen, and friendly neighbors, all located in the coolest neighborhood of Ubud, Nyuh Kuning Village. Close to the Monkey Forest and Hubud.
Stunning private one bedroom villa with large bathroom and kitchen. Surrounded by rice fields with two porches and a nice green hammock for the classic Ubud outdoor living. Comes with hot water, wifi, full time staff for daily cleaning and maintenance. Large porch with great lighting in front and back. Kitchen to cook up whatever you want! Free drinking water, tea, and coffee the whole time--there is a great water filter in the kitchen so you can take a break from all of those plastic bottles. It's that romantic little villa in Ubud you have been dreaming of! I
Brand new furniture from antique teak wood and a large bathroom too. The pool is shared between the five houses and is very lovely. It's all part of a larger complex with friendly expats from around the world and an awesome Balinese landlord that manages the place great. You will feel right at home, and there is 24 hour security. I also include a local cell phone with important numbers programmed in like restaurants that deliver, drivers, our lovely massage lady, and emergency calls. It's all to make your stay as easy and happy as possible here. I can arrange airport pick up and drop off for you. Ideal for artists, musicians, yogis, travelers, and people looking for a little break from it all. LGBTQ+ friendly. Not suitable for children under the age of 12.
Nyuh Kuning is a wonderful, quite village located right behind the Ubud Sacred Monkey Forest. No one trying to sell you things or offering "transport". Just a relaxed happy village. It was voted Bali's cleanest for 2012 and is home to about 300 families. It is about 1km from "downtown" Ubud. This way you get a quiet village experience but are in striking distance of the shopping and restaurants Ubud is famous for. It's about a 1.5km walk to the Yoga Barn for those coming here for yoga. You can rent a motorbike right from here for five dollars a day.
There are lots of restaurants and cultural activities located here. Our Villa is a hidden gem in the rice fields with wonderful, helpful staff. It is located right across the street from Bumi Sehat Birthing Clinic for those interested in volunteering or visiting there. There is a dog and some cute cats here, so it's good if you like animals.
I lived in this compound for four years before moving into a new house close by so I could foster more puppies, but I am often around and always just one phone call away to fix anything or chat. I love to meet new people and share what I know about Ubud and Bali so you can have a fun and unique time here. The staff is there all day to attend to anything you need and the landlord keeps the place secure 24 hours a day.
Nyuh Kuning is the best neighborhood in Ubud! It is often voted the cleanest in Indonesia, and it has successfully kept it's traditional core while adapting to tourism and hotel businesses here.
This is directly on the other side of the Monkey Forest from town, which gives you a break from Ubud's busy downtown.
The pool is unattended and has no barrier so it's not a good fit here for little children.
Would definitely stay there again! A charming villa nestled in a neighborhood with great local eats and a mere few minutes stroll to town. Love the tranquility and yet soulful energy of the place. One could simply chill amidst the rice paddy field and be transported to a totally different world: away from the harried city landscape and instead greeted by soulful chanting from nearby temple. And the amazing sounds of nature is priceless! A gem :)
We spent a great week at Sue's place. Quiet, relaxed place in a great location. Convenient for the town, excellent restaurants close by. Large kitchen with all the utensils we needed which made eating-in easy. Clean, with excellent maid service. Would stay again!
Sue was an incredible host. Even before I placed a booking, she went out of her way to answer all my queries. She was forthcoming in letting us know about the construction work nearby, before we paid for our stay. Once at the villa, we were very well taken care off. We had a mobile phone at our disposal, with information on restaurants/bike rentals/massages among others. The staff took good care of the place, and cleared & cleaned the room every day. The property in itself is very spacious, with bean bags & a hammock for you to laze around in. Friendly neighbours (dogs & cats included!) made for a great travel experience.
We had a wonderful time in Ubud. Sue was a great help even though she was on the other side of the planet, literally. She provided a reasonable priced driver that picked us up and we learnt a lot about the city and the culture from him.
Sue even let us know that there was some construction going on before we book. So we felt like we had all the information we needed all the time. She didn't mention that construction was by hand, so if she hadn't told us we would hardly have know they where there.
The pictures of the place don't do it justice. It was so lovely and we almost regretted stay so much in Ubud when we could spent more time in our room.
It is a little walk to get from the Villa to the north part of Ubud, but not to bad. If you are going grocery shopping in the large "mall" remember to bring a backpack. Makes it easier to carry and the monkey won't get to interested. Going through Monkey forrest to get there was actually a big plus as the wildlife and the trees there are stunning. We also walk to Yoga Barn to have a few classes there. We recommend that as well.
We would recommend staying there and would gladly do it again. While in Ubud we saw a lot of other accommodations and often praised our luck for booking the Villa.
Lotus Rice Field Villa was very nice. We stayed there for 5 days. The location in this little village next to them monkey forrest was very good. Nice and quiet.
Sue was very helpful and nice.
We can recommand this place!

Sue is a very warm and thoughtful host. She arranged for a car to pick us up at the airport, a scooter for us to move around Ubud and gave us tips on what to see in the area.
The Villa itself is a good blend of modern amenities and traditional Balinese style. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would gladly go back here again.
Loka Pala is a lovely place to stay out from the main hub-bub of Ubud but within easy walking or scootering distance into town. It's not the cheapest accommodation, but it is nice, civilised and has a lovely pool. Sue is great, really friendly and has thought of everything to make your stay comfortable, with good recommendations (definitely listen to her food recommendations! - just go to Clear Cafe). The room is large and though quite scantily furnished is comfortable. There is a proper kitchen which you're paying for so might be a good option for longer stays (we only stayed for 3 nights). The only negative is the bathroom, the door didn't shut properly, the toilet smelt and it became a 'wet room' when we used the shower (although it's not designed to be). Apart from that though it's a great place to stay, quiet (even though there was builders while we were there) and private. Enjoy!
We absolutely enjoyed our stay. :) Sue was very communicative and accomodating with everything. Our flight got cancelled/delayed a couple times on the way to Bali and Sue was patient through it all with arranging our transporation. Unfortunately, our flight got delayed in the middle of the night and we couldn't let Sue know ahead of time, but Oka (one of the drivers) waited for us for hours at the airport and still greeted us with open arms. The villa itself is absolutely perfect. Try the places Sue recommends and definitely rent the scooter to get around town! :) Sue arranged a massage for us at the villa and it was perfect. If I'm back in Ubud, I'd stay here again. Thanks Sue!
I had the best time staying here. Its in a great location,so peaceful and quiet, yet only a pleasant 15 minute walk into town. The villa is perfect, nice and clean, and having a kitchen is always great.Would definitely stay here again.
Lovely place to stay in a quiet, clean and charming village. Sue's communication was delightful and way beyond the thoroughness you would expect! The villas have all you need and it is a quick walk to the main centre but lots of great restaurants nearby too....a bonus being so near to the amzing monkey forest!! Thanks Sue and team it was perfect!!!
