G'Day from Sydney!
Thanks for coming to check out our listing :)
We have another btw... http://www.airbnb.com/rooms/12351 if this one is unavailable. It's called "Sydney City & Harbour at the door"; a queen bed in our second bedroom...
This is not a business, or a hotel, or a B&B. This is our home :) As we were among the first AirBnB'ers in Sydney (travellers + hosts) we've developed quite an extensive profile based on all the guest questions we've answered. Reading through the description, and the "House Rules" (Next tab across from the "Amenities" tab), you'll find all the important information you need... Feel free to send us a message with any question you have about us, our home, Pyrmont, Sydney, or AirBnB... We'd love to hear from you! :D

We'll provide you with keys, and there's easy (and secure) access, so you can come and go as you please. We work from home, so there's generally always someone around.

Pyrmont was once a thriving industrial waterfront / working port area with ship-building, factories and wool-stores. Over the last decade there's been a considerable influx of new residents and commercial / residential development that has transformed the area into a trendy mix of inner city residents and commercial HQs. For example (website hidden) has their Sydney office, the "(website hidden)plex" just down the road, as is Fairfax Media, NOKIA, and the Seven Network (TV). Media Production houses, boutique cable TV channels, etc.
The UTS campus, the ABC's Ultimo headquarters (Australia's National Broadcaster), the Sydney Convention Centre, and the Sydney Entertainment Centre, are all within walking distance. Sydney University is about 20 minutes walk away (only 10 mins in a cab or bus).
Eat, Drink, and be merry:
Being ex-restaurateurs we'd be more than happy to point you in the right direction for a great meal in Sydney. And there's plenty on tap too. You can't walk more than a block in any direction without walking into the front bar of a local pub, or a wine bar, or a great cafe, or restaurant…
To give you an idea, there's seven of Australia's top restaurants within easy walking distance (Quay, Tetsuya, Est., Bilson's, Rockpool, Becasse, & Guillaume At Bennelong).
And with a full range of cafes and restaurants in between, right through to the cheap & cheerful Harry's Cafe de Wheels (a late night Sydney institution), Noodle King, and all the vibrant offerings of Chinatown there's no end of options... Modern Australian, Persian, Goan, Japanese, Indonesian, Malay, Italian, Indian... All at our door
Must do's in Pyrmont include Bar Zini, Gallon, Hannah's Pies, Blue Eye Dragon, and Made in Italy.

The international and Domestic airports are only about 15 - 20 minutes drive away (longer during traffic peaks), again, all easily accessible by public transport too.
We'll send you maps and full details when we confirm your booking.

Well done for reading this far!
Most people don't :(
Sorry, this is so long, but we know we've pretty well answered all your questions now ;p
Our house is your house - we're not a hotel, it's a home. We look forward to welcoming you.
Interaction with Guests
As much or as little as you like. We'll be home when you stay.
Pyrmont is an inner-city village of Sydney. Only about 2kms from the Sydney CBD (Central Business District) / Core. Next door to Darling Harbour.
Pyrmont was once a vital component of Sydney's industrial waterfront, with wharves, shipbuilding yards, factories and wool-stores.
That history remains and in recent years Pyrmont has experienced a resurgence with an influx of residents and office workers.
Cafés, restaurants, and plenty to see and do in the neighbourhood.
Bus at the door. Trams/trains/ferries all conveniently a couple of minutes away.
Easy walk to everywhere (everywhere you want to go anyways).
Other Things to Note
Vinh Van Lam & Stuart Horrex are the cofounders of CoSydney - Sydney CoWorking + Project Space.
Feel free to check out the ArtSHINE Gallery, and meet the CoSydney CoWorking community while you're here too.
Our check in time / bag drop time for you will be 6.30pm. And an earlier bag drop wouldn't be available either. Sorry... We've been left waiting too many times to be able to make other arrangements...
While we work from home, and there's generally always someone around, we've a few reasons for the 6.30pm check in / bag drop time... One of them is that we're really flexible with check out times... :)
We may be able to arrange some bag drops / check ins earlier, but we do need to make those arrangements well in advance. So if the 6.30pm check in time isn't your preference, please talk to us about it *before* you make your reservation. :)
There's some luggage lockers we can suggest right near Central Station... So you can enjoy the day sight seeing without having to carry your bags around everywhere...
We'd ask that you'd please not smoke inside the house. We've a sheltered, undercover area outside that you're more than welcome and free to use.
We tend to work from home. Although we are out and about visiting clients, we also meet clients in our home office & work by phone too. So this means that our home would be better suited to guests wanting to be out sightseeing during the day, rather than spending the days inside.
We'll give you keys so you can come and go as you need... Ours it's not the place to host late night parties - but if that's what you're looking for we can certainly point you in the right direction :) And because your bedroom is upstairs it's unlikely that you'll disturb us with late night / early morning comings and goings.
Every experience we've had with AirBnB has been positive - Whether we've been hosting, or guests, we've met kind & considerate people, had interesting conversations, and made great new acquaintances & friends. We don't imagine you'll be any different, and we look forward to welcoming you into our home.
From Dec 14, 2015 - Jan 31, 2016 the minimum stay is 3 nights.
We had a great stay! Vinh and Stuart were both very welcoming. We felt very comfortable and at ease throughout our stay with them. Location was great! Which made it possible for us to visit the Sydney Fish Market twice! Yums!! And if not for Vinh, we wouldnt have been able to try the delicious Zumbarons by Adriano Zumbo :p Lastly, how can we forget little Kenji. We snapped so many pictures with that little cutie!! Thank you for making our sydney experience so awesome. Hopefully your upcoming visit to Singapore will be a fruitful one as well. Take care, with lots of love and misses, Joavian & Eileen.
My stay at Vinh and Stuart's was very pleasant. They are very welcoming to their charming home and making you feel as comfortable as possible. I love the view of the backyard overlooking the harbour. Their home is situated outside the hustle and bustle of the city but traveling to the city is very convenient with the bus or just simply walking and exploring the city. Plus point, the famous Sydney Fish Market is a walking distance. I was fortunately to meet Kenji who is adorable and the most well behaved dog I've met! I would definitely recommend this place to those who likes some peace and quiet and looking for an alternative stay instead of living in the city centre.
Great location to have as a base to exolore Sydney. Darling harbour a 10 min walk and the light tram will take you to Central and Circular Quay. Lovely clean house and my bedroom on the top floor had a great view. Although its a sofa bed it was very confy to sleep on.
Vinh and Stuart were very accommodating, allowing me to use their parking pass to ensure that I could keep my car there for the duration of my stay. They were very flexible, allowing me to keep my car parked there after I had checked out.
A gorgeous area, close to the Light Rail and the city.
Steuart and Vinh have a charming home right across from the White cruise terminal where my cruise ship docked. While the buses don't go to that cruise terminal, there was a bus and tram stop not far from their home which made getting to Central Quay and the airport easy. They are also a manageable walk from Darling Harbour. The room had both a fan and AC so it was very comfortable. They also have lots of toys for making fabulous coffee. I brought a Belgian chocolate treat home and sat out on their patio looking at the harbor while enjoying coffee and chocolate. Thanks Vinh and Steuart.
Vinh was very helpful explaining public transit options and places to see. He lent me a travel guide for Sydney after I lost my own.

About the Host, Vinh+Stuart
G'Day from Australia!
He's Vinh, and I'm Stuart...
We're big fans of AirBnB having used it when traveling in the USA not long after AirBnB first started.
Since then we've enjoyed traveling with AirBnB across the US, around Australia, in Hong Kong, and also in Vietnam.
As guests we're always out & about most of the time and won't be intruding too much.
We're neat & tidy and vibrant conversationalists...
We're business coaches and small business owners.
We operate a coworking space in Sydney - CoSydney CoWorking + Project Space.
So here's an open invitation to come check us out.
My partner Vinh is a keen traveler who works a lot with artists and designers in his coaching practice. He's the energetic, vibrant one...
I lived in Bolivia for a year as a young man just out of school and have worked in social enterprises and not for profits over the years. I'm the more serious, bookish one (with a wicked sense of humour though). Currently working in financial services too...
One of the things we're keen to do is catch up with some social entrepreneurs, coworkers, not for profits, and microfinanciers.
We're particularly interested social enterprise, coworking, and small business incubators & mentoring projects.
More that happy to answer any questions that you may have.
All the best,
Vinh & Stuart
