My home is located near the freeway and only 13 miles (22km) from the heart of San Francisco – only 20 miles (31km) to the Golden Gate Bridge. A 20 minute walk (1.5 miles/2km) gives you access to the BART train that takes you all over the Bay Area. Across from the station, at the El Cerrito Plaza, there is a Lucky grocery store, Trader Joes, a Starbucks and other shops and restaurants.
The home also offers easy access to AC Transit bus service which provides extensive bus transportation throughout the East Bay.
For the budget conscious (and who isn't these days) I'm located a mere 1.5 miles from COSTCO.
The neighborhood is safe, friendly, residential, and quiet. If you want to explore, all along the BART there are stops that bring you to quaint neighborhoods full of great shops and many excellent restaurants. Downtown San Francisco is a short trip - only a half hour to forty minute ride!
You'll have shared access to the bathroom, kitchen, living room, and dining room and free access to wireless internet. In fact the wireless hub is located in this bedroom and the signal is the strongest. I have a washing machine but no dryer however, just hang laundry on the line and it’s dry in no time. We rarely get rain in the SF Bay Area.
PLEASE NOTE: As of July 2013, I will only be accepting women guests and no couples at this time. The single bathroom can only accommodate two females - myself and a guest. Thanks for understanding.
I'm excited to host you! Please keep the following in mind, and let me know if you have any questions.
~ Please clean up after yourself, especially in the kitchen (the dishwasher is your friend!)
~ Contact me to pre-arrange a check-in time so I'll be home to meet you. Please include your flight information so I can change my schedule if needed (and give you directions).
~ At check in, I'll ask you to show an ID matching the name and photo in your profile for security reasons.
~ At check in, I'll show you how to use the house alarm and give you the alarm code.
~ No smoking
~ Please be quiet after 10pm Sunday - Thursday nights.
Christina is amazing!! She is so welcoming and accommodating it feels like visiting family. I enjoyed our evening conversations in her cozy and inviting living room. I wish my work schedule would have aloud for more.
Christina has a beautiful home and when visiting the bay area for business or pleasure, the room she offers is perfect. The bed and bedding is comfortable and after a long day of work or play I knew I had a good night sleep awaiting. The desk and chair was perfect for long hours of work on the computer and you can even find maps and brochures of the area in the drawers. The kitchen is perfect for light food prep and storage is offered for a few items both in a cupboard and the fridge.
The neighborhood is nice and is just a short drive or bike ride to BART, grocery, restaurants, shopping, movies, and more. I never had a problem parking on the street in my full size pickup and never more than a house or two down. When heading out to explore you can gas up and hit the freeway just a block away from the house and can easily head to anywhere in the bay.
I can not recommend Christina and her home enough!!
Christina's place is really nice. It was clean, quiet and spacious. Maybe just a little bit far from the Bart station but it was no problem for me as I had a bike. As for Christina, she's very kind and friendly. Made me feel very comfortable during my stay. She was very nice to me and even showed me around the nice views of Berkeley. I will definitely stay again if I need to.
This is my first use of this kind of services. Also is my first time in the west coast. I was very lucky to have Christina as a host. She is very welcoming and very helpful and her experience traveling around the world reflected in her understanding and respecting other cultures. While I am transitioning to my new job in the area, she helped me to understand about the area, prepared me with maps and directions, and answered all the questions that I had. The area was very safe and I felt safe to leave my car in the street every night. The room is comfortable; the house is clean, and is in great location. Thank you, Christina. I really felt home while staying in your house. If I have to do it again, I will use this service and your house will be my first choice.
This was my first Airbnb and it was great! The room was clean and cosy and bed was really comfortable. Christina is really nice and helpful host. If you are a knitter she probably will take you to see some knitting shops. :)
This is my first Airbnb...I am so glad to be Christina's guest. She is very nice and helpful! I love her attitude to taking care of environment, she is using retail shopping plastic bags as trash bags, and he choice to use IKEA furniture which using less materials. The whole room is very clean and at good condition, my bed is really comfortable, I had the best sleep in my trip at first night. Think about when you come back to home, there's a box of fruit with paper hand writing "Jerry, Please eat fruit".....how great you will appreciate!! I also enjoyed chat with Christina, very interesting on her travelling in other places, she also prepare a biking map for me which is very helpful. I enjoyed very much in my first airbnb there and hopefully it is a good start for me to looking for next wonderful airbnb. Thank you Christina!!
I loved my first airbnb experience because Christina was a very easy going, hospitable host who made me feel right at home. No hassles you have in hotels having to check-in, go up stairs to your room. Park right in front of the house and walk right into your comfy home away from home, and cozy bed. The place was clean and just what I needed to focus and escape from my own home to get some writing done. Thanks!
I recently relocated to San Francisco and needed a temporary place to stay while I was searching for a permanent home. I was very fortunate that Chris’ place was available. Chris takes great care of her home and her guests.
The room was very clean/comfortable w/ modern décor, a large dresser and closet, and a full/queen size bed. The bathroom is shared and is very clean and organized. There were never any conflicts with sharing the bathroom. The kitchen and living space was also very clean/comfortable and gets plenty of natural light. Internet service is provided and never had any problems with connection. Also, off street parking was readily available right outside her home. Many amenities are located within a 5 minute drive, including cute and unique restaurants.
The best part of my stay was getting to meet Chris. Chris is very kind and respectful and makes you feel at home from the minute you walk in the front door. She is also very wise, contributing to her characteristic as a great conversationalist. She gave me great tips and ideas for places to visit and for living in San Francisco.
I highly recommend staying at Chris’ place if you plan on visiting the East Bay!
I'm an empty nester with an extra room in my lovely home interested in making friends from around the world. My parents are from Germany so I speak German and I recently visited Europe in July 2012. I've also been to Australia, Israel, Egypt, Mexico and many states throughout the US. In my spare time I like to hike local parks, draw and knit. And I love to garden.
