  • We had a wonderful experience staying in Traverse City! Our hosts were extremely friendly, meeting us with a glass of wine and recommendations for our time in Michigan. Their home and property are beautiful and we felt very welcome. The location is perfect! I would definitely recommend staying here if you are planning a trip!

  • It was a great experience staying with Lou and Irene. They have carved out an interesting lifestyle and are great hosts. Their home is lovely and Lou made us a feast for breakfast. Like staying with friends.

  • Irene and Lou were fantastic hosts. Kind, generous and very helpful. The home itself was beautiful. The room overlooked the farmland of the Old Mission and it is located just a few yards from one of the most beautiful views in all of the area. The home is tastefully designed and offers lovely natural light. We were also lucky enough to be staying there while all the trees were changing colors, which was beautiful.

The location is great, and I would highly recommend staying in this beautiful home on your next trip to the Traverse Bay Area.

  • Irene and Lou are very cool people. You can tell they are both well traveled and appreciate culture & the arts.

The photos do not do their home or the room justice. Their property is beautiful. Picturesque old farm house snuggled up against orchards and a vineyard. They have a little honor system farm stand set up at the end of their drive selling raspberry & cherry jam, fresh eggs, apples (you pick or they pick), and other assorted little goodies.

When we arrived, Irene was welcoming and warm. She gave us a tour of the home and made us feel 100% comfortable. We met Lou a little later on and he is equally great. They are the kind of people you could talk to for hours and it wouldn't feel like work at all.

The room was clean, organized, spacious, and full of retro light fixtures and cool furniture. We only stayed one night and I wish we had more time to relax and hang with the hosts.

The home is central to everything on the peninsula, Irene & Lou are full of recommendations of what to do and where to dine, and this experience embodied what Airbnb is all about.

  • Although we only stayed a short time overnight, the hosts were good people, very helpful and friendly. Everything was very clean, but I would not call it luxury.

  • What a great experience!!

This was our first time using AirBnB and we had a ton of fun. Irene and Lou were gracious hosts, the house and property were beautiful, and our room was exactly what we'd been hoping for.

Lou even shared a WWII Disney sticker with my wife after we'd had a long discussion about Disney the night before.

We'll definitely be back, and we'd definitely recommend Irene and Lou to anyone staying in the Traverse City area!

  • We had a very short stay, but Irene and her husband Lou made us feel very welcome and at home. They have a beautiful house and grounds (and the bed is very comfortable)! Pictures don't do the place justice. Would absolutely stay here again.

  • Irene and Lou have a beautiful, modern yet charming farmhouse surrounded by sundry fruits on vines and trees. It was really nice to talk to Irene and Lou about travel and their life on the farm. Delightful hosts, delightful stay!

My husband and I live on our working farm 7 months in Michigan, and we live 5 months in Washington DC. I am from the Netherlands and we both have traveled and worked abroad. We have stayed in many airbnbs and know what it takes to make people feel comfortable and welcome. We are a laid back couple and want you to be able to relax and enjoy all the beauty that surrounds us here on the Peninsula.
