Description

The space

This is a working farm with a vineyard, apple orchard, raspberries, and a large green garden.
The house is located on the old mission peninsula. There are wonderful restaurants and wineries within minutes and town is a short 7 mile jaunt away. The house is quite modern downstairs with eames furniture and other retro touches all open spaces with views in every direction. The bedroom retains the old farmhouse feel with oak trim and antique furnishings.
Your bedroom has a king seize bed and is very large. It overlooks a wonderful field and farmhouse. You have your private bathroom, just across the hall. The house is air-conditioned. We can't accommodate children + pets, and we don't allow smoking in the house.

Irene and Lou are incredibly friendly, generous hosts! They always make us feel very welcome, and this time they even sent us home with fresh raspberries and chestnuts from their farm. I'd absolutely recommend staying with them!

Irene and Lou were so warm and kind! It was a pleasure to share their beautiful home, and they made us feel comfortable in their living space as well as our lodging area. We loved getting to tour the outbuildings and walking in the vineyard/orchards.

Great first experience using Airbnb! Wonderfully comfortable stay. One million times better than staying at a hotel. Irene and Lou were excellent hosts and made us feel very comfortable. We very much appreciated the note and cookies for our anniversary! Beautiful home and farm. Picking apples and berries was one of the highlights of our trip to Traverse City.

Irene and Lou were gracious hosts and provided helpful information about local restaurants and activities. We enjoyed the scenery outside as well as inside their lovely home. Bathroom was clean and roomy. Bedroom was perfect for a couple + overnight bags. Use of the kitchen and refrigerator were much appreciated, as well as the good conversation. Thank you for the lovely accommodations!!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Irene's. Her and her husband are very hospitable with lots of suggestions on things to do. The location is great and close to many wineries as well.

Irene and Lou are warm and engaging hosts. The room and the house in general are fantastic--comfortable and spacious, well decorated. This place has wonderful understated character and it is clear that L & I really enjoy hosting guests. We were able to pick apples and berries everyday and there is a keurig-style coffee maker downstairs. I wish I could stay here for the season and not just the weekend.

My husband and I live on our working farm 7 months in Michigan, and we live 5 months in Washington DC. I am from the Netherlands and we both have traveled and worked abroad. We have stayed in many airbnbs and know what it takes to make people feel comfortable and welcome.
We are a laid back couple and want you to be able to relax and enjoy all the beauty that surrounds us here on the Peninsula. You have the opportunity to pick raspberries, apples, or vegetables when in season.

We cannot accommodate pets or children.
