The Space

Clean and spacious private bedroom in an historic upper Manhattan neighborhood.

Only two short blocks to the subway, 15-20 minute train ride to central park, museums, times square, and everywhere else you want to go in fabulous New York City.

Very cozy and relaxing apartment. Large fully stocked kitchen.

This is a private room with a comfy queen size bed. Linens and towels included, and plenty of closet space, so make yourself at home.

Laundry and 24-hour convenience store right around the corner.
Across the street from the famous Parlor Jazz at Marjorie Eliot's.

This neighborhood, Washington Heights, is home of Duke Ellington, Thurgood Marshall, Roy Wilkins, and headquarters for George Washington during the revolutionary war.

  • I spent one week at Carrie's place. She was a great host. The bed was comfortable and her place was very close to the subway and pretty safe to walk home in the evening. There is a grocery store and laundromat near by. I would definitely stay there again. Thank you Carrie for everything hoping I make it back there again soon.

  • Carrie's apartment is clean, comfortable, and huge for NYC. She was really welcoming and made me feel right at home. It's in the nosebleed section of Manhattan but incredibly close to multiple subway lines, so it doesn't take long to get downtown. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

  • Carrie was great. Very helpful, friendly and accommodating. It's a 3 bedroom apartment which I think is unheard of in NYC. Carrie was in one, I was in another, and two other women were staying in the third. I thought we'd bump into each other a lot while sharing the kitchen and bathroom, but our schedules were so different we hardly ran into each other at all.
The apartment is cute and the rooms were clean. The neighborhood is okay. I was out very late most nights and sometimes didn't feel super comfortable walking the three blocks from the subway station at 2am. I also had a difficult time getting a cab to pick me up the morning I had to leave for the airport. Two different companies said they didn't pick up in that neighborhood. I ended up walking down to Broadway early in the morning and just hoping I could catch a cab in time to get to the airport. It worked out. All in all, I'd recommend the apartment for a long weekend or week in New York City -- especially if your activities will be uptown or midtown.

  • Staying in Carrie's house was very nice. Since the first day she made us feel at home. The house is very nice and really close to the subway, what is great! Don't fear the distance from downtown, with 30 minutes you can get wherever you want!

    Encore merci Carrie :)

About
working professional from NYC. hello! NYC has been my home for 4 years and i love it still. this city has endless offering for anyone, even for the anti-socials who enjoy peace and quiet :) ask me about cheap or free-things-to-do around town if you're on a budget. NYC is expensive but you can have a lot of fun without spending much. my apartment is located in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. every so often i host dinner party for my guests and friends with a lot of wine, usually too much food and it's always a good time. i work in the jewelry industry on the 'normal' schedule. when i got some precious time off, i fly away to other cities far or near. i also love to explore new neighborhoods, visit galleries, indie craft shops, parks, check out new restaurants and food trucks. i have been a guest and host on airBnB (as well as (website hidden)). Hans Christian Andersen said “Enjoy life. There's plenty of time to be dead.” yes!
