SPECIAL 2020 NOTES TO OUR GUESTS: Your well-being, and that of our cottage caretakers, is our highest priority. We use Airbnb's enhanced cleaning regimen, including sanitizing surfaces, steam cleaning quilts and pillows, and spacing between bookings. The cottage is a place of comfort, bird-song, wildlife, privacy, big sky, views, and very fast internet for entertainment or remote work. PLEASE ASK ABOUT OUR 25% DISCOUNT FOR EXTRA DAYS OR FOR EVERY DAY IF YOU BOOK A WEEK OR MORE.

The space
Edgecliff Cottage is a spacious and beautiful retreat for holidays or remote work that is also close to the charming seaside village of Langley. Built in the 1940's and set on 1 1/2 acres, it was the hub for one of Whidbey's original strawberry farms. Now remodeled for modern living, the cottage has a parklike setting and views of mountains, water, woodlands, and resident deer and bunnies.

Edgecliff Cottage's roomy common areas and outdoor spaces, three bedrooms, and two baths (both on the first floor) let you instantly settle in and relax. The cottage easily sleeps 6 people in plush beds with designer cotton quilts, pillows, sheets, and towels. We include local soaps and shampoos as well as basic foodstuffs (coffee, sugar, olive oil and vinegar, spices). Our fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, and speedy internet accommodate longer stays.

Guest access
Guests can access the main house, except for one closet and the eaves, and all the grounds. The garage and outbuildings are for storage and owner projects and are not available for guests.

Other things to note

Blackberries on the meadow side of the property are plentiful for guests to pick in late summer.
We host a small fenced community veggie and flower garden, so guests may occasionally see, at a distance, our garden partners tending their rows. They are very friendly and respectful of our guests.
We ask guests to take off their shoes in the house if possible.
Please note that both bathrooms are located on the first floor.
We also ask that guests drive slowly (20 mph or less) on Edgecliff Drive and keep noise levels down, especially after 9 pm.
Guests are welcome to park on the circular drive next to the cottage. The parking space at the end of the shared driveway belongs to the neighbors up the hill; please do not park there or on the shared driveway.
You will notice many potted plants near the front door and around the back patio. Please feel free to water any of them if they seem thirsty with the hoses and watering cans available.
THANK YOU!

The cottage is well set back from a quiet two-lane dead-end street and a walk along Edgecliff down to Langley offers little traffic and stunning views of Saratoga Passage and the mountains beyond. Walkers and wildlife frequent the street and all are friendly.

Whidbey is a wonderful place to explore. We ask that you bring face coverings with you during this time of re-opening under the Governor's Stay Home, Stay Safe Phase II Guidelines.

Langley is opening up in June! Paste in this link to the latest FRIENDS OF LANGLEY NEWSLETTER about the reopening of stores, restaurants, and an array of services. https://mailchi.mp/whidbey/lcoc-friendsoflangley-newsletter-381578?e=a84622e045

The delightful Star Store grocery and take-out from several delicious restaurants continue to be available for fueling feasts at home!

The next village up, Freeland, has a larger grocery, hardware store, and drugstore complex and more restaurant options, all of which have been open continuously.

In between is the Bayview area, with its Goose grocery, a hardware store, the Bayview Farm and Garden nursery, restaurants, and, on Saturdays from May to October, a farmers market.
