The neighborhood is experiencing a lot of changes. It is called the place to live by some.
The apartment is comfy and has a nice view to open green space in front of it.
*If you check the StreetView it doesn't really show the right street.
Smoking is not allowed. There is a balcony where you can smoke though.
If it happens to be Thursday, please take out the garbage and the Recycling.
Antonio was a very nice host - it was easy to get the keys and he bought us some patisserie.
The apartment is conveniently located in Montreal and very close to the subway as well as grocery shopping and restaurant.
If you are looking for a place to sleep and don't want to entertain or plan to spend some time at home - it's the perfect place.
My husband and I were just a bit disappointed as we were expecting something closer to the pictures shown on the website so we had to adjust a bit as it doesn't really look like it.
Again if you are looking for a place to sleep - it's the place to be and you will be treated beautifully by your host.
If you are looking for a more luxurious experience in Montreal this not the place to be.
Finally I would say that for the price it's a great deal.
This is a basic cool place. It's 2 blocks away from the metro station, and a couple of blocks away from the supermarket, restaurants/bar, and lachine canal. I was greeted by Antonio's mom, she was a very nice lady, and she gave me an introduction to the apt. I had a nice stay.
My stay at Antonio's place was great. Antonio was very helpful throughout the process and was always conscientious about ensuring we had all of the information we needed. The apartment is nice and can meet all basic needs. Thank you again, Antonio!
This is a nice, basic place with a friendly and helpful host. The neighbourhood is up-and-coming, and perfectly fine. Near to the metro station and the cycling paths along the canal. A very delicious brunch spot a few minutes walk away.
We cancelled our reservation ON SITE with the HOST due to the state of the apartment.
We then followed up immediately and cancelled the reservation ON LINE via AIRBNB.
When we arrived, as expected by our HOST, the apartment was a mess: clothes and papers everywhere.
The bathroom looks like it was not been cleaned in months, the trash baskets were full, the paint on the walls was peeling, there kitchen counters were littered with food and with supplies everywhere, the fridge was not clean and looked like there were things growing.
After the host said it would be ready 30 minutes later, we returned 2 hours later, and it looked exactly the same.
I gave the HOST back his key, told him that the apartment was not appropriate and we could not stay there, and told him we were cancelling the reservations. I then cancelled it on line.
I STRONGLY FEEL THAT THIS IS NOT UP TO AIRBNB STANDARDS. I have rented apartments from AirBNB (and similar type sites) around the world. I have NEVER had to cancel a reservation on site for this type of reason. The HOST needs to be aware of this and AIRBNB needs to be aware of this.
I had a great stay in Antonio's apartment. It's nice, clean and conveniently located steps away from St. Henri metro station. The neighbourhood is lovely too, lots of character, hip restaurants, bars and cafes. You can bixi bike from his place to the Old Port, along the Lachine canal, and it's a great way to see the city.
Antonio's place was perfect for our weekend escape to Montreal. Located about 3 blocks away from the the train station and 2 blocks away from numerous bars and cafes, we enjoyed its proximity and ease of access to the city. The two futons and a full-sized bed comfortably accommodated our group of 3. We loved hanging out on the balcony and being greeted by a small black cat during nights. We didn't make much use of the kitchen (but there is one, stocked with all your cooking essentials). Bathroom was small but it got the job done. We didn't get to meet Antonio but he easily accommodated our late check-in. He also seems like a great guy from all his cool trinkets and photos!
