❄️ Good to know:
• Elk Creek Den is intentionally remote and secluded 🌲 After leaving Highway 285, you’ll drive about 25 minutes on scenic dirt roads through the mountains to reach the cabin. It’s peaceful, quiet, and absolutely worth the drive, but this may not be the best fit if you’re wanting quick access to town or ski resorts.
• AWD/4WD is strongly recommended October through May
• No A/C needed here. At 10,000 feet, summer evenings are cool and crisp 🌙

We welcome up to 2 well-behaved dogs ($50/pet per stay). We provide dog beds, bowls, treats, and plenty of room to roam.

The main living spaces were intentionally designed without blinds or curtains to let the mountain views and natural light take center stage. Mornings here are especially beautiful with golden light pouring through the windows and nothing but trees and sky outside.

Inside, you’ll find light-filled windows, cozy layered textures, and spaces made for movie nights, slow coffee mornings, record playing, and gathering together after a day outside. The kitchen is stocked for everything from pancake breakfasts to pasta nights by candlelight.
Outside is where Elk Creek Den really shines ✨
Soak in the hot tub under the stars. Grill dinner and eat outside under the string lights. Sip wine by the fire pit with nothing around but mountains, aspens, and total stillness.
And yes... the sauna is worth the hype. 🪵
Wildlife sightings are part of the experience here too. Don’t be surprised to wake up to deer wandering through the property or cows roaming nearby. It’s peaceful, quiet, and beautifully untamed.
