We recently stayed at Alessia's apartment, and we really enjoyed it. The pictures are a good representation of what the apartment looks like. Everything was clean. The apartment is very well situated to walk to the Vatican and perhaps Piazza Navona, but it's a rather long walk to other sites in Rome (not impossible, but just a very long walk); however, there is a tube station that is about a 10 minute walk away. The tube is easy to understand and use, so we used it quite a bit to get to the Colosseum, etc. The neighborhood is wonderful! There are plenty of restaurants, gelaterias, and bakeries. There (email hidden) around the corner, although it's like Whole Foods, so it's expensive. Otherwise, my only complaint is that the noise level can sometimes be quite high (mostly from the ambulances!). I would recommend this apartment to friends, and I would stay here again if I'm ever in Rome. Alessia arranged transportation to and from the airport that made our trip even easier.
My family and I stayed at Alessia's apartment in June 2014 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is fantastic-- very close to St. Peter's Square and the Castel Sant Angelo, but also walking distance to all the other major sights. We managed to explore the entire city and only had to take the bus twice during our entire stay.
The apartment itself is very clean and nice. Having two full bathrooms was very convenient for our group of 5. Also, having access to the rooftop terrace was convenient for hanging wet laundry, enjoying coffee in the morning, and getting views of St. Peter's square.
Alessia arranged for a driver for our group, which was really convenient and ended up being equal to the cost of taking public transportation. The driver even carried suitcases up to the apartment. We would highly recommend taking advantage of this service.
Would stay there again!
The Pope was our neighbor! What more could you ask for? The apartment is located in a quintessential Italian neighborhood a few blocks from St. Peter’s. Looking out the windows you can see Castel San Angelo over the red tile rooftops of the surrounding buildings. Down below you can see the activity on the street – people going to and from work, dogs lounging in front of their owner’s shops, families gathering for a lunch around a big table. In a six block square area, you have everything you need to live like a local – small pizza places, fully stocked markets and vegetable stands. The bar in the building serves a perfect cappuccino and has a nice menu of small (website hidden) of all was that the barista knew us and our preferred drink by the second day. A few blocks away on Via Cola Di Rienzo, there is an outdoor market selling clothes, purses and shoes ironically set up on the street by Tiffany’s. Coin has an upscale store full of designer brands but there are many shops on the street selling less costly Italian fashion. Part of Coin, Eats (email hidden) like Eataly but on a smaller scale with many types of wine, pasta, antipasti, meats, cheeses, bread, etc. We made a wonderful meal of caprese salad, basil gnocchi with arrabiata sauce and a bottle of Sangrantino wine – everything came from Eats except for the basil which was from the little plant growing on our balcony.
The apartment was even bigger than it looks in the pictures, extremely clean and the large windows let in lots of light and fresh air. In spite of the World Cup fervor, we did not get much street noise even with the windows open. We walked everywhere but there are Metro and bus stops nearby for those who prefer public transportation. Alessia was extremely prompt in answering emails whenever I had a question. I would stay there again without hesitation.
Alessia's apartment in Rome was amazing from start to finish. We were greeted with a warm welcome and shown the spacious, stylish, spotlessly clean and comfortable apartment. We wanted to move in! There were 5 of us and we all had more than enough space. Both bedrooms are extremely spacious and air-conditioned, with comfortable beds and ample space for luggage and belongings. There are two large bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a wonderful living area which doubled as a third bedroom. Alessia and Gabriele were extremely helpful and kind hosts, helping us organize transportation and responding to any questions or requests quickly and courteously.
The location is absolutely perfect, a stone's throw from the Vatican, Prati and Castel Sant'Angelo - you can even see the vatican wall from the apartment. Yet we felt like we were in a real Roman neighbourhood, in a peaceful area away from the tourist throngs - yet steps away from amazing sights. We walked everywhere, and explored many of Rome's neighbourhoods, but we all agreed that Alessia's apartment is in the best area. There are great bars, restaurants, cafes and shops nearby. This really is the perfect spot in Rome.
Overall, this was a fantastic experience and we would not hesitate to stay here again - without a doubt, we will be back! Grazie Alessia, Gabriele e famiglia, alla prossima!
The apartment was spacious, but the front bedroom was noisy from the restaurant below. The third floor walk-up was a bit much after a long day of tourism. That fact should be highlighted in the ad. It would have been nice if the apartment had had some material on Rome, a map of the city, for example, or some guides. It woud have been more useful than the old magazines in many languages.
Ottima location, grande e luminoso appartamento! Very nice location, spacious and bright apartment! A deal...
This apartment was the perfect home base for our visit to Rome; very spacious and comfortable for 2 couples; very clean and wi-fi worked with no problems. The location is perfect, just a few blocks from the Vatican and walking distance to all the major sights. There is a great coffee shop on the ground floor of the building, and everything you need within a minutes walk. The host was very responsive and arranged transportation for us, which worked out great. Only negative was the noise from the street below was loud a few nights, but that's to be expected in a city. I would absolutely stay here again!
This was truly an awesome place to stay. Really near the Vatican and Castel Sant'Angelo. The appartment is spacious and even bigger than I thought. Two separate bedrooms (divided by sliding doors, so not completely closed, but the rooms are far enough apart from each other, so enough privacy) and two bathrooms. There's everything you need in the kitchen (except for a kettle, but you can use a normal pot instead, so no problem).
Lots of restaurants around, but be aware of the tourist trap-places. You will find out for yourself fast enough. Supermarket is near (Despar in Via Alberico II).
If I go back to Rome with more than 2, I would definately book again
Great location, at walking distance of the Vatican, Castel Sant'Angelo and Ponte Sant'Angelo, and Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. Really spacious and clean. Fully equipped apartment, it is great to rest after walking all day admiring the city. The WiFi was great. Alessia answered promptly to all our questions. We used the airport pickup with any problem at all. Very recommended.
Spacious (!), very clean, relatively quiet (anywhere in Rome vicinity of course there is street noise). Lovely building. Alessia and Gabriele were incredibly family friendly (we brought two toddlers).
