ABOUT THE HOST
We are a young architect couple living and working in the city.
Our greatest interest in both life and career is to create inspiring spaces for people.
We work full time and run a small design practice on the side.
We love just about everything in life, from exotic food to extreme sports, from art to astrophysics. (We come from a family of rocket scientists and doctors, yea basically nerds:)
We've been living and working all over the world since we graduated from Yale. We love the weird Danish dessert that only serves after Christmas dinner, and the little mid-eastern restaurant down the Spanijaarstraat in Rotterdam. (Not even close to a famous street, don’t waste your time searching it on the web :)
Just drop us a note and we would love to have you as our guest!
This is a very quiet apartment building so please be discreet.
This has been our place for a year and half. We have always kept it very clean and neat so please be courteous and clean up after yourself and leave the apartment in the same condition you found it.
No parties. No smoking inside the apartment and in the hallway. No pets (We are very allegic)
No unannounced guests staying overnight.
You are welcome to use our cooking materials and laundry detergent. If you use up large amount of it, please replace it with something of similar value. (small amount of usage is totally acceptable)
We provide basic showering and cleaning stuff, please don’t take them with you.
If you lose the key, the replace fee is $200.
Please let us know (ASAP) if you accidentally break something, it’s better than us finding out after you leave. We are more likely to be lenient if you inform us as soon as it happens.
The apartment was just as described & shown in photos. The building was quiet & in a great location. The apartment was clean and Max was easy to work with. Staying in Max's place made our visit both affordable and authentic. We would definitely stay again!
Max's place was great and just as described. Location was perfect for us (we wanted to be close to Penn Station, subways, and central to lots of major attractions). The apartment was clean, comfortable, and just the right size for a couple. We had no issues whatsoever with entry using Max's instructions re the concierge/doorman. All our communication with Max was easy, clear, and timely.
Definitely found some excellent local amenities (Brooklyn Fare for groceries, coffee, etc. and Tavola Italian restaurant). Highly recommend Max and this apartment.
We enjoyed our stay at Max's apartment. Is it quite small, but that's New York for you! I think the photos accurately show what it is like anyway. We didn't use any of the kitchen facilities so I can't comment on that but the TV was good when we worked out how to use it, and the heater was excellent in the freezing conditions! The location isn't bad, it is short walk to get to Times Square etc (not so fun in the freezing Winter though!). There are a few good restaurants really close to the apartment too. We had no problems with our stay.
max's apartment was centrally located to all the major sights in manhatten. Upon our arrival, it was very easy to find and the apartment was cozy. The bed was comfortable and all the basics were available to us. "The Brooklyn Fare" market just down the street was our go to place for food and morning coffee, love that place!!! Max's apartment was better than a hotel room because you can prepare some breakfast or lunch and save some money. I highly recommend this as your place to stay in Manhatten if you are on a budget!
Nice, clean secure building with a great location for our purposes. We had an event at the Javits Center and the apartment is only two blocks away. Perfect!
I had some minor complaints but I don't think it would keep us from staying here again.
Tom is a great host, flexible and easy communication. The apartment is clean and well kept, very convenient location.
