About this listing
I live in a town house, 5 minutes from the beautiful Cairns Botanic Gardens and and its Red and Blue Arrow walking tracks for the fitness buffs amongst you. My townhouse is 4 kms from City Centre with a bus stop right outside the door. The Esplanade is only a couple of kms away. My place is simple but I love it. It's got a little court yard where I'm trying to grow some herbs and lettuce and stuff. I'm a bit of a 'Greenie' and into recycling and have a worm farm in my court yard.
The guest room has 2 single beds that could also be put together into a double bed. Edge Hill is a great trendy little community with lots of coffee shops, restaurants, post office, news agency and Friendly Grocer all in walking distance.
I am also only 5-10 minutes away from the airport and am happy to pick you up if it fits in with my work hours. Oh and free wifi of course and lots of info and things to do.
no smoking and please recycle and no shoes upstairs. And if you could conserve water that would be great too.
She was very kind and friendly! She drove me to her house from the bus stop. I drank juice which she made from fresh fruit for me twice! The room was very clean and nice. She let me share some dinner! It was very nice staying.
Ursula was the best Airbnb host I've ever had. Her house is lovely and clean and well-located (with a car). Not only did she provide information about touring activities but took us (my sister and me) on a hike and invited us along to local events. We had a wonderful time.
Ursula was wonderful making sure all details were attended to for a smooth arrival to her cosy home. Ursula was great company and keen to share her knowledge of the area and best places to see in Cairns. Ursula's home was perfect as a base with comfortable amenities and close to the Botanic Gardens and bus stop into town. Very enjoyable stay, interesting and engaging host.
We had a great stay at Ursulas place! She was a nice host, picked us up from the airport, prepared breakfast and took us for a walk. We can highly recommend her.
Ursula was a very accommodating host and makes you feel right at home from day 1. She had suggestions and lots of info about outings in the area and even dropped me off for tours and gave me a lift to the airport. A relaxed place to stay, a short ride to the airport or the centre of Cairns. I happily recommend her place!
Ursula was so welcoming and helpful, I really love staying with her. The room is comfortable, airy and clean, and the whole house is a delight to visit! Ursula's home is really close to the airport which was great for my short stop-over trip (able to drive straight from the markets to the airport in 5 minutes!), and also right next to the Botanic Gardens, Tanks Art Centre and a lovely hiking trail. There's also a bus going straight to the city, just outside the door. Loved my stay here in Cairns and I'd definitely come back again whenever I can!
It was a short but nice stay at Ursula's apartment. Wish I could stay longer ;)
About the Host, Ursula
I am a Social Worker at the local hospital. I am of German origin and have traveled widely, Europe and Asia mainly. Now I'm more into exploring Australia. I am into bush walking and am a member of the local bush walking club. I love long walks, did the Camino Compostella through Spain in 2006 for instance (800kms), the Great Ocean Road walk in Vic, the Overland Track in Tassie, some of the Bibblemun track in WA and the Larapinta Trail. I also like sitting in coffee shops reading the papers on Saturday morning. I love people but am a bit of a quiet person these days, my raging days are well and truly over. Love reading and movies, oh and ice cream! The environment is really important to me, and I try to create as little waste as possible and recycle as much as possible. I hope my guest are into this as well. I DO have issues if guests shower so long that the tank is empty.
As a guest I am quiet and very self contained. As a host, I'd love you to feel at home, particularly in the kitchen!
