About This Listing
I live in a town house, 5 minutes from the beautiful Cairns Botanic Gardens and and its Red and Blue Arrow walking tracks for the fitness buffs amongst you. My townhouse is 4 kms from City Centre with a bus stop right outside the door. The Esplanade is only a couple of kms away. My place is simple but I love it. It's got a little court yard where I'm trying to grow some herbs and lettuce and stuff. I'm a bit of a 'Greenie' and into recycling and have a worm farm in my court yard.
The guest room has 2 single beds that could also be put together into a double bed. Edge Hill is a great trendy little community with lots of coffee shops, restaurants, post office, news agency and Friendly Grocer all in walking distance.
I am also only 5-10 minutes away from the airport and am happy to pick you up if it fits in with my work hours. Oh and free wifi of course and lots of info and things to do.
no smoking and please recycle and no shoes upstairs. And if you could conserve water that would be great too.
It was a lovely stay at Ursula's, she is very nice. Gave lots of Informations, her bike to use, offered me a ride to town, gave a number of a Massage Therapist (so good) :-) , shared her dinner with me. I am thankful for my first nice Airbnb experience and will be back. Cairns is a lovely town and she s living next to the Botanical gardens in a quiet Neighbourhood!
Ursula Was really Nice during our stay ! Her house is cosy, she offered us her bikes and a lift to Town whenever she could.
She gave us books with all the activities we could do in Cairns. And most importantly, she really made us feel like home.
Definetly recommend staying there .
Thanks again Ursula
I haven't had the chance to visit Ursula's place but in my general impression she is a very very nice person and I would love to visit her place next time!
Ursula was a fabulous host! She really made us feel at home in her house. The room was immaculately clean and quite spacious.
There is a lot to do in Cairns and she suggested a lovely cruise into the reef which was the high point of the trip.
From the delicious breakfast to conversations about life and religion to driving us into town, Ursula is a great person to have around and she made our trip memorable.
Ursula is fantastic and I highly recommend her place to anyone visiting Cairns.
I had a great stay at Ursula's place. She was very helpful and easy going and her place is super close to the bus stop ( you take the #130) that takes you downtown. I'm so ever grateful as this was my first time on air bnb; so thanks Ursula for your help and the mindful conversations!
Ursula is a welcoming host. She provided useful information on things to do in and around Cairns. She even took me to the movies and showed me around town one night. During my stay she made sure I was feeling comfortable. It was a pleasure to have met and stayed with her.
About the Host, Ursula
I am a Social Worker at the local hospital. I am of German origin and have traveled widely, Europe and Asia mainly. Now I'm more into exploring Australia. I am into bush walking and am a member of the local bush walking club. I love long walks, did the Camino Compostella through Spain in 2006 for instance (800kms), the Great Ocean Road walk in Vic, the Overland Track in Tassie, some of the Bibblemun track in WA and the Larapinta Trail. I also like sitting in coffee shops reading the papers on Saturday morning. I love people but am a bit of a quiet person these days, my raging days are well and truly over. Love reading and movies, oh and ice cream! The environment is really important to me, and I try to create as little waste as possible and recycle as much as possible. I hope my guest are into this as well. I DO have issues if guests shower so long that the tank is empty.
As a guest I am quiet and very self contained. As a host, I'd love you to feel at home, particularly in the kitchen!
