The ideal Tahoe spot summer or winter, our adorable 2 bedroom / 1.5 bathroom chalet is just blocks from Lake Tahoe and beautiful meadows yet you are still under 3 miles to Stateline and Heavenly Mountain Resort.

The space

The ideal Tahoe spot summer or winter, our adorable 2 bedroom / 1.5 bathroom chalet is just blocks from Lake Tahoe and beautiful meadows yet you are still under 3 miles to Stateline and Heavenly Mountain Resort. There is a queen bed in each room and a full Jennifer Convertible sleeper sofa in the living room.

We gave the chalet a mini face-lift in 2013 - complete with 2 large flat screen HDTVs, cable, wifi, rain forest shower-head, brand new memory foam mattresses, and down comforters. For outdoor fun we have a new grill, loads of outdoor seating, a corn hole set, and 2 bikes.

The kitchen is stocked with all the essentials and there is even a washer and dryer. There is a carport and mud room for storing your gear. There is no AC (standard for Tahoe) but there is ceiling a fan in each room and one in the main living area.

*Please note the half bath is actually a "water closet". It has a toilet and small sink. It is mini but totally functional.*

Our neighborhood, Al Tahoe, is rare in that it is on the lake side of Hwy 50 / Lake Tahoe Blvd. You will wake up feeling like you are worlds away, but you are just walking distance to Regan Beach, El Dorado Beach, the Upper Truckee Marsh, Paddle Board rentals, and some great cafes and sandwich shops.

Also, thought I would mention a few of the items we try to keep stocked so you don't buy or bring anything extra.

We are well stocked on linens and pillows. In the room with the purple curtains you will find an extra down comforter, extra blankets, and few extra sets of sheets (they are marked "full" for the sofa bed and "queen" for the bedrooms).

Under the bathroom sink are extra towels and wash cloths. For the beach and boating there are extra towels in the bin in the mudroom. Please do not use the bath towels.

In the cabinets above the stove you will find:
Sugar, coffee filters, powder creamer, tea. 90% of the time there is actual coffee. There is also olive oil, salt and pepper and various random spices and hot sauces.

In the fridge there is a new Brita pitcher (no need for water bottles) and various condiments. Our cleaning lady tosses anything that looks suspect but usually you will find butter, mustard, ketchup, oil and vinegar . . .

In the living room you will find an iPod / iPhone docking station for some tunes, a dvd player along with an assortment of dvds and cds, and playing cards, uno, chess, jinga, dice ....

In the bathroom drawer there are various toiletries from shampoo to toothpaste to qtips in case you forget anything. The hair dryer is under the sink in the small bathroom and there is a steamer in the bedroom closet.

My favorite part - In the shed you will find a corn hole set, a hammock, and 2 bikes and various other supplies. Bikes are Men's 18" trek mtn bikes - great for cruising in the meadow. There are helmets (safety first) and a bike lock. There is also a grill on the deck and extra chairs for lounging.

Had a great family get away at the Meadow Chalet! Secluded, yet walking distance to the lake. The meadow was breathtaking, a must see while you visit! Would definitely stay here in the future.

Great location. Quiet neighborhood close to lovely meadow and Reagan Beach. Fantastic and responsive host. Cozy place with ample room. Only downside was the level of cleanliness. I think the cleaners failed the host as the frig and kitchen counters were not cleaned, one bathroom had not been cleaned at all, windowsills, etc, pretty grubby. Host responded appropriately with a partial refund. Hopefully they will hire other cleaners who will do a better job for them. After cleaning the place ourselves, we settled in for a peaceful and comfortable stay. Summer renters be aware it can get a bit toasty in SLT and the cabins get quite warm. Overhead fans at this place helped to keep air moving.

The place was a good spot for a group of 4-5 friends to stay at on our mini vacation to Tahoe! Not too big but perfect for our size. Beds were very comfy with nice sheets and comforters. Everything was clean and it was really easy to keep in contact with Colleen, she made the stay easy and was a great help! Would stay again :)

My girlfriend and I just stayed at this adorable chalet with our kiddos, ages 5, 16 months, and 14 months, for a couple days and had such a great time! The owners, Colleen and Alton, were awesome at staying in contact with any questions we had and I was very pleased with their response time. The chalet is not a large space so I can see why there is a maximum occupancy of 6. The play pens barely squeezed in to each of the bedrooms so I wouldn't recommend bringing any larger items. For us, though, it was perfect! The convenience of the kitchen and the provided high chair, cooking spices, and condiments was so very helpful for us two mamas! There were also kids books, puzzles, and games as well as a large variety of DVD's. The chalet is located right down the street from an adorable lakeside playground. There was no beach access so we played for a bit on the swing set and walked down the steps to let the water hit our feet and then continued down to Baldwin Beach for an afternoon of lounging on the beach and playing in the sand. We made so many fun memories here! My 5 year old refers to the chalet as "our cabin".... he really misses it so we will have to come back and stay again so he can show Daddy his favorite cabin! Thanks again for sharing your adorable place with us, Colleen and Alton!!!

Colleen and Altons home was comfortable to be in but did run into some issues. Before arriving I had communicated with owners about my stay and how my group and I planned on having a bqq in the back yard during our stay. We arrived a little later than planned so when we got there we were ready to prepare everything for the bqq since we were very hungry. First thing we noticed was that the back yard seating area was very dirty we had to clean the table, all the seats and pillows, and the grill inside and out. Was kinda bothersome since we didn't expect to clean anything when getting there . Once that was set up we noticed the propane tank was empty, so we had to go refill, but apparently you could only buy a new one that came out to about $25. We left a new tank for future guest since we couldn't take it with us. Second after the first night of staying, one of the rooms had mosquitos and I'm very sensitive to bugs (I get bit by everything). I didn't notice till the next morning when I woke up with so many bites I couldn't even count them all, and I thought it was because I was outside too much but we can to find that on the window there was a lot of mosquitos just there . Weird, but we had to go buy bug spray to get rid of them. I spoke to the owners after we checked out about these issues. They were very understanding and wanted to get it checked out mostly the bug issue since the house was protected against bug/flys/mosquitoes. Other than that I can say the house was a nice place to stay . Beds are super comfy, everything cleaned inside, had basic necessities, close to everything you need and or want to go. Besides some of the issues we have to say I would come here again. I can really picture having a good time here during the winter as well.

We had a blast at the Chalet and enjoyed the proximity to the lake, the bikes and the comfortable feel of the place. Pretty much a very smooth experience with no hiccups. Great neighborhood , the house has all the basic cooking necessities to save you money from eating out too much. Besides saving you money, cooking your own meals will be appreciated by your body and will give your diet some consistency with its normal routine at home. I'll bet the mini A-frame garage is great in the winter. Not good for loud groups as there are neighbors close by, better for chill families or luvahs. -Odin

I'm a Georgia girl gone Californian. And my husband is a New Yorker rounding out his edges on the West Coast. We love San Francisco and Tahoe and have charming homes in both. We feel very blessed to have small pieces of paradise in the city and mountains and are excited to share them with others.
We've tried our best to make our homes comfortable for guests. They are by no means extravagant, but we've found little things like - lots of hooks for coats and towels, warm cozy blankets, nightstands with lamps, and some basic spices and olive oil in cabinet - can make a big difference after a day of adventure.
Welcome + Enjoy!
