This charming 2 bedroom Russian Hill flat, in an Edwardian building built in 1907, is the perfect location for your San Francisco get-away. The building is located on a quiet street in the delightful Russian Hill neighborhood that is full of old world charm, and is conveniently located near many of the wonderful sites and flavors that San Francisco has to offer:
1½ blocks to cable car (Hyde Street)
Less than 10 minute walk to historic North Beach
Less than 10 minute walk to bustling Chinatown
Less than 10 minute walk to Polk Street cafes and shops
3 minute cable car ride to Lombard St
5 minute cable car ride to Ghirardelli Square and Fisherman’s Wharf
Imagine waking up in this classic San Francisco flat deciding what to do with your day. You could go to a North Beach bakery for cappuccino and a pastry, followed by a walk to Coit Tower and Washington Square. Or you could head to Chinatown for Dim Sum, go souvenir shopping on Grant Ave followed by a traditional foot massage. Maybe you want to go to a coffee shop on Polk Street followed by an afternoon of window shopping at the many boutiques on Polk and Union streets. Or maybe you’ll take the cable car to Fisherman’s Wharf for a seafood brunch followed by a ferry boat ride to Alcatraz.
About the flat:
The master bedroom has a king size bed and bay window, decorated with art deco accents. The second bedroom has a queen size bed, original pocket doors that open to the living room, and is decorated with authentic California Plein-Air paintings.
The living room has a brand new, super comfortable pull-out sleeper sofa that sleeps two people. There are hardwood floors throughout the flat.
The newly renovated kitchen has beautiful original tile work from the 1920s as well as many contemporary conveniences, including a new dishwasher and microwave. I love to cook and I’ve stocked this kitchen with all the cookware, vintage dishware and cookbooks you need to make your own feasts if you so desire.
In classic San Francisco fashion, the bathroom and toilet room are separated. Both have original tile from the 1920s as well as vintage art deco mirrors.

Since this flat is located on a hill, if you don’t like the idea of walking up or down a hill you may want to consider renting a car or staying in a flatter (but not nearly as scenic or convenient!) area of town.
San Francisco is a great town for walking, but if you want to drop into a gym or attend a yoga class, there are several facilities close by.
Please note I have a two night minimum stay.
No smoking anywhere on the property, including the outdoor backyard and the front steps.

Kenji's place is so great that my family had a wonderful weekend there, especially the kitchen is very convenient, which makes us feel just like at home. Thanks Kenji very much for the welcoming red wine, your place made my first booking on airbnb a great memory, I am sure to stay here next time in SF.
My family and I have stayed at some fantastic Airbnb accommodations however this was the best we've had. Right from the start Kenji was fantastic in welcoming us into his apartment.
He provided us with great information about what we can do and see in San Francisco as well as the best places for coffee and to eat locally.
His apartment is beautifully presented and was perfect for my family of 5. Russian Hill is also a great location in San Francisco and is close to Fishermans Wharf and the Italian and Chinese districts.
We loved and stay and would highly recommend Kenji's apartment.
Myself, my girlfriend and a couple of friends stayed at Kenji's house for a 3 night trip to San Fran, the whole experience was great. It was our first airbnb stay, so we were a little anxious not knowing what to expect, Kenji communicated to give us a sense of reassurance, the checki-n process was great, and then he left us to enjoy the house and the city. The house was very clean and great to use, the sofa bed (3rd bed) was comfortable, and the location was great. We walked to Polk St for breakfast and to Union Square to shop. I would recommend Kenji's place to anyone.
Kenji keeps an immaculate house and is a most thoughtful host with attention to detail. We've been repeat renters and will surely come back for more!
We loved this apartment! In a typical San Francisco house, superbly remodeled, fully equiped, very confortable beds. It was ideal for our family of five, but would also be perfect for two couples. The location is fantastic, near the top of Russian Hill, not far from North Beach and between two cable cars lines.
Kenji was very welcoming and helpful, available for any questions.
We highly recommend this place to visit San Francisco.
Kenji was an awesome host. His apartment was super clean, centrally located and well stocked with everything you need. I had a amazing time.
We had a wonderful stay in Kenji's house! My wife and I and two of our adult children stay here for three days. The location was perfect and the house was even better than we had expected. Kenji was an excellent host and was very helpful with suggestions of travel sights and restaurants and he even had a parking spot available under our house. In all respects this was an excellent value and we highly recommend a stay here. We hope to return someday.
Very great experience staying at Kenji's flat. I was impressed how well organized he was about explaining all of the City's activities and eateries. The flat was well furnished and nicely maintained. Kenji's hospitality is second to note!
We were extremely pleased with the stay. Kenji was very accommodating and helpful in every aspect of hosting. The apartment was immaculate, but welcoming; the space was thoughtfully designed; the new Japanese-style washlet toilet was foreign but soothing! We will definitely be back!
My family and I stayed in Kenji's flat in Russian Hill for a week during our visit to the US in February. The flat is in a fantastic location - 2 blocks from a cable car stop and within walking distance of many attractions (including Chinatown, Union Square and Fisherman's Wharf). However, the flat is located on a hill so it's worth taking the cable car back up the hill on your way back! The neighbourhood is very residential and quiet at night time. There are some cute little cafes and restaurants on the street corners nearby that are definitely worth a look at.
The flat is beautifully decorated. The beds are very comfortable and the bedrooms are a good size with plenty of storage space for suitcases, coats, etc. The kitchen contains a dining table large which was large enough for our family of 5, coffee machine and all the key appliances. Kenji has a fantastic collection of books in the flat - unfortunately I didn't get time to read them all!
Kenji is very friendly and helpful. He was flexible with check-in and check-out times and was happy to work around our flight arrival time. On check-in, he gave us a map and talked us through the location of the flat, surrounding restaurants and markets, and key San Francisco tourist attractions. He also took the time to explain public transport options which was very helpful as we were first time visitors to San Francisco.
We really enjoyed our trip to San Francisco and our time staying in Kenji's flat! I would definitely recommend it for those looking to stay in a traditional San Francisco style unit!
