The Olives' Terrace a apartment forming part of an ancient Villa dating 1500 in the charming village of Benabbio set amid olive groves and chestnut woods of the Val di Lima, a few km from Bagni di Lucca, which is renowned for its thermal waters and the old Casino, the first in Europe.
Benabbio, unlike other villages in the region, is hidden among the woods in a tranquil spot making it ideal for a holiday or a relaxing break. Despite this, a few minutes walk are only two restaurants, a newsagent / stationery and food with local products. The beautiful view from the terrace offers countless ideas for recreation such as walking in the woods of chestnut and olive groves, visits to the ancient Romanesque church, the Museum of Art or the ruins of the castle of Lupo Lupari, recently the subject of archaeological excavations.
You can relax in the Villa's garden between
bowers of vines and olive trees and take in the breath-taking mountain views. In addition, given the proximity to Tuscan cultural cities, it is possible to take day trips to Florence, Siena, Lucca and Pisa.
Recently restored, using materials and furnishings typical of the Tuscan style with antique furniture and objects characteristic of the traditional culture, the apartment is composed of a large double bedroom (it' possible have two twinbed instead of a double bed like in the pitcure) with bathroom with a shower, a living room with kitchenette and sofa bed for two people and a relax room with tv, dvd player, and fireplace.
In the garden you can find a beach umbrella and sun beds, table and chairs for al fresco dining whilst enjoying panoramic views.
There is private covered parking. Use free beds for children and the necessary for the children.
Washing machine with payment,
The guests have the free access in the terrace and the garden, they can pick the fruits or the vegetables in the garden, and I am very happy to explain the history and the tradition of the village.
Interaction with Guests
I like to help myguests to live one of the best holiday,
The village Benabbio offers one grocery shop with typical local products, one magazine shop, two restaurants, the bus services, and the taxi driver on request from the apartment.
There is the public transit and the taxi driver very helpful to achieve the other public transit in bagni di lucca
Other Things to Note
We are in the middle of the tuscany, and our village and landscape are typicall but not too much famous, so you can taste the quiet and the really country tuscan life
The respect for the house and the forniture is a must: the aptartment is part of a XVI century Villa. As personal preference, we prefer to speak with the guests before the arrive in order to have everything set up for our guests., and the time of the check in and check out.
The olive grove house is a truly beautiful and an authentic Tuscan villa. The view from the patio was absolutely stunning! Maria was very friendly and helpful with any questions or requests. She made us a reservation at the local restaurant the first night we were there. The dinner was amazing authentic Tuscan food and a definite must! Maria has great homemade products such as olive oil and honey which we bought. The villa is centrally located to many destinations only about an hour drive. We tried to go the the famous thermal baths but didn't make a reservation enough in advance so they were booked. Overall an amazing weeknd and suggest if your looking for a country getaway and an authentic experience!
We absolutely loved our stay with Maria Elena! She is an excellent and thoughtful host and really went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The house was beautiful and the view was spectacular. Our daughter made friends with the two friendly neighborhood cats and this was her favorite part of the entire trip. We also enjoyed the nearby restaurant in the village. After several hectic days in Florence and Pisa we definitely needed some relaxation and this place was exactly what we were looking for. We recommend this place and would love to return someday!
What an Amazing experience this was. Ok so the drive up there was a little daunting but well worth the trip.
The accommodation was great with a super comfy bed (had the best sleep
In ages) and an open fire place the perfect setting to share some wines. Maria Elena was very helpful and her home made olive oil is super Yum (with some bread and prosciutto from the local store). Make sure you have dinner at the Local Italian place if your looking for real local cuisine (highly recommend!!!).
Olive's Terrace is a very magical setting in the hills of Tuscany in Bagni di Luccan.
The apartment is absolutely lovely, and feels of old world charm. It is so comfortable, and the natural surroundings of an old medieval village are perfect.
Maria Elena is a lovely person, who makes amazing products from the farm right there such as Olive oil, wonderful rosemary salts, and honey soaps. These things are available to purchase, and what could be better than having the olive oil from the trees you are seeing around you!
The linens were so soft, and Maria Elena has ribbons and sprigs of lavender wrapped around them.
Lots of special touches that again resonates old world charm and care!
The location is great. Best of both worlds!
we got to Lucca, and Florence easily for day trips, or nights at the opera.
Bagni di Lucca is also a thermal water location, so the spa is right there!
A perfect place!
Can't wait ti go back!
This is an amazing location to get away from it all and enjoy some peaceful time in Tuscany. The village is small and secluded with great views of the nearby mountains and a very historic feel. The gardens on the property are amazing and we enjoyed many glasses of wine looking over the scenery while our kids enjoyed playing around the garden. The property is exactly as advertised and was very comfortable for the four of us. Maria Elena was waiting for us when we arrived and was very friendly and helpful getting us settled in and explaining all the amenities. She even set up a nice dinner for us the first night in the restaurant a few minutes walking distance away. Overall it was exactly what we were looking for and we would have loved to stay longer.
A perfect place for personal reflection and the appreciation of life.
Olives Terrace is just beautiful and our favourite of all the 4 Airbnb places we stayed during our trip. Maria was not available to meet us when we arrived but it was easy to find and everything was set up for us when we got there. The view from the terrace is stunning and we enjoyed beautiful sunsets over the hills both nights we were there. The apartment itself is also lovely, being part of a historic villa - we also loved the modern electric hob (very quick to heat/cool - better than gas - might get one myself!), the luxurious shower, the comfy bed, the pretty decor and the views of the hills from the bathroom window, the perfect way to wake up. Highly recommended!
