Unspoiled and protected, our beautiful and natural parks are refuges for birds, mammals and humans alike. This is a very nice house and it lived up to the information provided in the listing. The neighbourhood was very quite and pleasant. The house is well positioned for access to Clearwater beaches and Tampa but a car is essential. We were a family of 4 adults and one three-year old. We enjoyed our stay very much over Christmas and the new year, despite the disappointing weather. While we were out most of the time we did more time at the house than we had planned and it was like a home from home, ideal for a relaxed family holiday, which we were seeking.
The only dissappointment was the poor internet during the evenings. The internet is accessed through an extender from next door. It usually worked well during the mornings and afternoons but was often unavailable from about 7pm.
We would happily recommend this nice period house for a family holiday for anyone wishing to go to Clearwater.
My family and I had an excellent stay at Bruce's home in Clearwater and he is an extremely accommodating host that made our stay quite comfortable.
The house and kitchen were very well stocked and we really couldn't have asked for anything else. The living room is larger that it looks in the pictures and our party of six had plenty of space and didn't feel cramped at all.
Thanks so much Bruce and be well.
My family and I had a bit of a reunion in Clearwater and Bruce's house was an excellent place to host it. Very clean and roomie. We had everything we needed to make us feel at home. Check-in and check-out were extremely easy. The communication with Bruce and Melody was excellent leading up to our arrival as well, which made the experience all the more enjoyable since some of us were coming from the west coast and others from the UK.
It's been 2 weeks since my Florida vacation and I still am experiencing pleasant memories floating to the surface as I live and work in my wild northern very non tropical climate.
We rented the Dew Drop Inn, myself and 3 other family members coming in from all parts of the U.S. It was a perfect fit. A big house in a quiet residential working class neighborhood. A home. A big front porch to sit and watch the lizards and butterflies while having morning tea and visiting with each other. A quick drive to Clearwater's Pier 60 and beaches with the whitest cleanest sandy beaches ever. We drove south along the beach drive and had lunch at a great place called "Gumpy's" in the Indian Rocks area. Grouper tacos, grouper sandwiches, while sitting outside in a lovely Florida breeze. Very pleasant to experience in the month of October! The causeway over to Tampa to the east and the drive to St. Petersburg in the south, an easy commute. I highly recommend the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg! Bruce has placed a binder on the kitchen counter filled with suggestions for some of these outings and he is an easy friendly person to ask questions.
The house itself was a home, a very large comfortable 1920's Craftsman. Wood floors, ceiling fans, art and curiosities decorated every room. We cooked breakfasts and dinners in the kitchen which was fully equipped and roomy for all 4 of us to participate in the cooking. We ate in the full dining room, hung out on the back deck as well as the front porch reading our books and on occasion chatted with the neighbor walking her 2 Yorkies or waving to the young family on their daily evening walk. The neighborhood itself is a very comfortable mix of people, coming and going to work each morning and evening. I fit right in with my flip flops, my sister with her sunburn and my mother and aunt in their Jackie O. sunglasses.
Oh and try out the Italian restaurant a few blocks away. Christino's. We ordered dinner to pickup and found the place to be overflowing inside and out with festive people enjoying themselves. Would recommend making reservations. It was really hopping! And the food was great.
Four adults stayed at Bruce's home and it was wonderful! The home could easily accommodate more people as well, since it's quite spacious. It's close to the beach, grocery store and in walking distance of Dowtown Clearwater. We would stay here again!
Very easy to get to and Bruce was very accommodating. The house had everything we needed and more. Great location. Clean rooms, clean bathroom, clean kitchen. I would highly recommend it. We plan to be back soon.
we enjoyed the house - well kept and with nice details and the all important bathrooms well maintained. Bruce was helpful and extremely gentle and nice.
What a great find! Bruce was an excellent host and the house was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. It was a short drive to the beach and within walking distance of stores and restaurants. Bruce was kind, helpful, and offered a lot of useful, local information. I hope to stay here again in the future.
It is in a great location, close to the beach and many restaurant around. The neighborhood and the host are very very friendly and nice. Overall the house is under a very good condition and is able to comfortably accommodate 4-5 people.
