Do not run AC or heat with windows or doors open. Maximum limits for the units are no lower than 74 for the AC and no higher than 72 for heat. Florida is hot in the summer, so please don’t expect cool temperatures that you’d find in northern climates. The climate control helps to keep the inside humidity down, but dropping the temperature too low strains the system (especially for older homes that aren’t built with energy-efficient features), and it’s possible to freeze up the unit and incur a service call. The systems are remotely monitored and managed.
Fireplace is not usable at this time..

Thank you for your cooperation – we strive to keep our home in the best shape possible so you can enjoy your stay here in Clearwater!
The location was very convenient to the beach and anything else we needed. Very quiet neighborhood and we enjoyed our stay at the house. We would stay there again.
Location was perfect! Close to the bridge to the beach. Quaint, older home full of personality which offered privacy for the five members in our group. Would definitely recommend this home and we would definitely stay here again! Bruce was very helpful and organized - the notebook of information was priceless!
We enjoyed our stay at the Dew Drop Inn. The house was clean and organized, but somewhat dated in furnishings. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen, but could have used a brief outline on using the stove and microwave. We tried to use the oven one morning and the control panel locked up. When we tried to reach Bruce all we got was an answering machine. The house was comfortable, but the restriction on A/C use is not realistic given the heat and humidity in the region. This is not a knock on the owner, but if you are planning on visiting Clearwater Beach be forewarned that a five minute drive turns into a 45 minute traffic nightmare during the morning and late afternoon. Having a washer and dryer was a nice extra, particularly for fresh and clean towels for a group of four staying more than a couple of days. All in all a positive experience.
I'll be glad to address any questions or issues during your stay, but I can't respond if you don't leave a voice or text message. This spring we've seen a lot of visitors escaping the cold north weather. There are alternate suggestions for dealing with the traffic, and we'll be providing those tips to future guests.
Bruce was there when we arrived and went over everything with us. He had a book made up that answered every question you could possible have and then some. Full of recommendations, favorites, and things to do. Contact information for most places and directions included. House was very clean and had everything we needed. Old neighborhood with lots of trees and character. Had a great time.
What an idyllic base for exploring the region. This lovingly restored home, with hardwood floors, high ceilings, three spacious bedrooms, and two clean, full bathrooms was the perfect home-away-from-home for our family gathering of five adults. The decor is beautiful and they have a wonderful eye for detail. Things like granite countertops, fine linens and pretty wineglasses reveal an owner who wants your stay to be a premier experience. The owner, who lived next door, was respectful of our privacy but available when needed, even dropping off a shower chair for our elderly mother. The home is in a quiet, residential neighborhood, and we loved sitting on the covered porch. We cooked meals in the well-stocked kitchen and had several options for meals – the back deck, a formal dining room, and the bistro table in the breakfast room next to the kitchen, which also houses a washer and dryer. I would highly recommend this home. While there are places closer to beaches, if that's your purpose, this worked well for venturing throughout the region. Clearwater Beach is about five minutes away.
My friends and I felt at home on our getaway to FL from snowy Ohio. Bruce and Melody's home is the perfect retreat-meets the description 100+%. The house was immaculate and cozy, truly felt like a home away from home; I could have stayed there much, much longer. The six of us slept well and had no troubles getting ready with there being two showers. We ate in most evenings and had great luck finding good restaurants, even pizza with speedy delivery in the late evening-yay. Some of our friends were new to the AirBnB experience, and they were WOWed. We even got to spend some laid back time with our hosts; they are truly beautiful souls. Thank you for EVERYTHING, Bruce and Melody!
Dew Drop Inn was a great house! Close to everything, 5 minutes to the beach, malls, or shopping centers. The neighborhood was cute, very safe. The house was exactly as described and had lots of space for a family of 4. I wish I could pack up the backyard and take it home with me.
This house eased the stress of travel. There was a living room, dining room, kitchen, and back room so we had plenty of space. The bedrooms upstairs were very comfy, no problems with anything at all. Would recommend staying here for anyone!

About the Host, Bruce
We own a software company specializing in digital dictation and transcription solutions. Our "hobby" has been renovating old homes here in the Magnolia Park neighborhood of Clearwater. We have 4 vacation rental properties that we maintain ourselves.
One of our daughters and her family live 2 doors down from us, with 3 grandchildren that keep us hopping. We love the location - close to downtown Clearwater, yet just a short ride to the beautiful beaches of Clearwater, Indian Rocks and Dunedin (Caladesi Island and Honeymoon Island).
We love to bicycle, boat, swim, and enjoy fun times with our family and friends! We hope you can make it to our special part of the Gulf Coast that we call home...
