The Space

This beautiful apartment is just 9 short blocks from the White House on the same street in the neighborhood known as Logan or Dupont Circle & is walking distance to the Metro, Washington National Mall and offers everything you'd need for an extended stay. In the heart of Logan/DuPont it is close to the business district, Georgetown and all of the tourist sites. This newly renovated apartment has a unique kitchen with one-of-a-kind fixtures, beautiful extra large bedroom, windows with an amazing view of the temple, and 55'' flat screen TV. It is clean, fully furnished, private and beautifully decorated by a designer. It is the perfect home away from home! When looking at the AIR BNB listings, be sure to review location to downtown, restaurants, tourist sites and etc. Guest easily arrive from the airports, train or driving. You don't share anything with anyone else in this private apartment and you will enjoy this fantastic space all on your own. With plentiful closet space and fully stocked kitchen, you'll see this is the ideal location. It is the best deal in DC in one of the greatest neighborhoods in the city! I've included a few pictures of the street view from the apartment and local restaurants.

As a hospitality interior designer that focuses on hotels and restaurants I have always enjoyed entertaining my guest to the fullest.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • The apartment is in a good location. It is an older / historic building that is in the midst of some significant renovations. The lobby is lovely and the renovations will really add to the building. Mario has spent time renovating the apartment itself, albeit with some details to finish.
When we arrived, the sheets had been changed, but the apartment hadn't been cleaned.
Communication with Mario was an ever present challenge. Mario went on vacation before coordinating access to the keys. He had a friend hand over the keys, who was difficult to reach. We were available to collect the keys as of early in the morning on our first night, but didn't have keys until 830pm as Mario's friend wasn't available to pass them to us.
The address listed is general, not the exact location of the apartment. We did not find this out, or Mario's vacation and friend's role in getting the keys until less than 24 hours before our stay began.
We were not advised that window-replacement workers would be stationed outside the bedroom window for the duration of our stay. We were unable to reach Mario after our first night. We needed to let him know of some other issues, notably that the aforementioned workers had put a had through a pane of glass in the living room. He did not reply when we emailed with options to return the keys to him. In the end, we left the keys on the dining room table with the door locked.
If you are interested in the space, be sure to be proactive in your communication long before you arrive.

  • Mario's home was a beautiful retreat in the middle of downtown DC! My partner and I had a great time visiting and staying in the Washington DC area while enjoying this hip and urban space. The building is currently under renovations making it a bit noisy some mornings, however, this is the city life..

  • Mario has a very nice place that is just as the pictures show. It was kept extremely clean. Mario was also very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner spots are all over the area. His place is in the middle of everything. I actually was only going to stay two nights but was so pleased with the place and the location about an hour after check-in I extended another night, such a good weekend. I'll be back to this place and highly recommend to others when in the area. I rate it A+ , 4.0

  • We had an enjoyable experience staying at Mario's. He was a very gracious host and was interested in providing us everything possible to make us comfortable including obtaining our local parking permit. We liked his designer touches and comfortable king sized bed. The area is very interesting with great restaurants and attractions.

  • The apartment was beautiful, clean and in a sunny party of Washington, DC. Mario was very responsive and extremely helpful. I was staying for a business trip and will definitely be looking at this as an option again.

  • A big, beautiful, stylish apartment ideally located between DuPont Circle and Logan Circle. Great electronics, fully-stocked kitchen - everything you could want is there.

Had a bit of a problem checking in. Mario wasn't in town, his phone wasn't working and it took half an hour for someone to show up. I'm sure it'll be much smoother next time.

  • Mario is amazing, not only an extraordinary designer but a perfect host. He helped us with directions on how to get there and even helped us with the parking permission. He showed us the neighborhood and gave us some tips with great restaurants and shopping areas. His department is not only comfortable but really really beautiful, cozy and perfectly located near to a lot of nice restaurants, plus the area has an amazing architectural view. Walking distance from the White House, memorials and monuments.

I have lived in DC 5 years strong and find myself discovering something new about this powerful city everyday. As an artist from birth and an Interior Designer by profession I enjoy many creative avenues that allow me to express myself. After a few seasons as the on air designer on TLC's "Trading Spaces" I quickly realized that my drive and passion in design is best partnered with my love to host, entertain, and ensure a memorable time with people from all over. Having professionally worked on some of DC's trend setting locations and socially building a network of shakers and movers I am happy to finally call this great place home!
