Bedroom in Richmond District Flat

Apartment - Private room · Anza St, San Francisco, CA 94121, United States

The Space

11' x 12' bedroom in a 1,200 sq. ft. two-bedroom flat occupied by single male. Your bedroom has it's own closet, and a window that looks out onto back yards. Room has a nice carpet and is furnished with a super-deluxe full height queen airbed with foam top (super comfy, like a real bed), dresser, chair, night stand, and book shelf. I provide sheets and towels.

The flat has a large, sunny living room and separate dining room. You can use the kitchen to prepare simple meals. One shared bathroom with a tub and shower. The flat is also home to two cats, which can be kept out of your room if desired.

Quiet location, but minutes from shops, numerous restaurants, public transit, and Golden Gate Park. Two miles from the ocean, about a mile from the Golden Gate Bridge, and less than a mile from the DeYoung and Legion of Honor museums.

I am a long-time San Francisco resident and can provide plenty of information if asked!

  • Really enjoyed my stay with Deric. Very accommodating and pointed me towards some fun stuff to do in the relatively quiet (but peaceful) Richmond District.

  • Nice apartment, great location. Deric was very friendly and approachable and was able to give a lot of good information on public transit and attractions nearby. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Deric's apartment.

  • Deric offered a large private bedroom that was in a very good location. Easy access to many restaurants and coffee shops.

Though free street parking was available and easy to find it can be challenging to find a spot if you don't settle in before 11pm.

Deric was very good host and would recommend to staying at his place.

  • Came form NY to stay for 3 days in February 2012.
Pros: Deric was helpful with directions around SF.
Cons: Heating in the house does not seem to work well, so the house is cold. Had to sleep with a heater. Bath tub was not clean when I arrived, it had hair in it, so I had to wash it before I had to take a shower. By the time I washed it, I guess most of the hot water run out, so I ended up taking cold shower in the end. The faucets are old and rusty. No late check out, was told I have to pay extra if I wanted to check out later then 12.

  • Deric is a very nice human being, and a very good host, I had booked the accommodation at the last minute and he accepted my request. He was waiting for me at his door step and that made me feel relaxed. And after my work i enjoyed listing to his music skills and a chilled beer, which made my day. He as well his cats [pooka and chan] are very friendly, And he showed me the best possible directions to reach to my destination. i would 100% stay with him when ever i go back!!!

  • Deric is a great host and has a wonderful flat in the Richmond district near the park and good eats in the area. I had a car and it was not too difficult to find parking, but also near public transportation. Would recommend staying here!

  • We had a wonderful time in SF and loved staying at Deric's place. It's in a great, quiet neighborhood away from the crazier parts of town, but the transit system gets you anywhere you want to be very quickly. Beach & Golden Gate Park are minutes away. (Tip: get some kind of MUNI pass right away - it's a bit of a pain to always need exact $2 change for fares. The $21 three-day passport is very handy, and includes unlimited cablecar rides.)
Deric is a great host & gave us good tips on sites to see & places to eat, etc. I'd book here again with no hesitation.

  • Deric is a great host who is definitely a valuable resource for pointers on how to navigate around the city. He is quick to give advice on what activities best fit the day based on weather, costs, tourist traffic, etc., and how to best get there! His apartment is in a nice quiet location, with a busy commercialized street just one block over (Geary) that has great restaurants at night for dinner, and plenty of coffee shops for the morning. The apartment itself is very nice and accommodating with all of the necessary amenities that you’d expect.

  • Deric was very responsive when I was trying to book a place in San Francisco. He was easy to talk to and was able to answer questions I had about the city.

When I arrived in SF, he was busy, but arranged for me to have access to his place. His apartment is conveniently located near public transportation, restaurants, and cafes. The unit is spacious and I had access to his kitchen at all times. He also has wireless internet with good signal strength. The room is large and has plenty of closet space.

If you are okay with cats and are looking for a private room not too far from the center of the city, Deric's place is great.

  • I´ve just enjoyed 5 days in a cold but still lovely San Francisco, at Deric's place. He was a nice and helpful host, ready to give great suggestions to explore the city. The room is comfortable and clean, as well as the washroom just next door, and the whole house is a warm space where to feel instantly at home. The stay also included sharing the house with two cats, which was ok since they are really friendly and Deric had warned about leaving food around :) Although breakfast was not in the deal, he was very kind to offer coffee, juice, milk and cereals! There are many bus lines close to the house, what makes it really easy to go around at any time, and the Golden Gate park is another good option just a few blocks away. Definitely, a good option for people looking for a simple but comfortable enough quiet place to stay, plus a very welcoming host!
