I have a huge room with a private bathroom and shower! The room also opens up to a small (email hidden)e house is a duplex, so the entire lower floor is yours! You can access the room through a spiral staircase on the main floor. The room has a queen size bed, a desk & chair and a couch. I provide fresh linens and towels. You are welcome to use the kitchen, and you will get your own set of keys to the house.
This neighborhood is very safe and only half a block from the main road (4th Avenue). The house is only a few blacks away from Prospect Park, 24 hour grocery stores & pharmacies, cute restaurants/bars and the F/G/R trains @ the 4th Ave/9th St stop. Direct ride to Willimasburg on the G train.
Park Slope Bars & Restaurants:
Park Slope is home to some of Brooklyn's best restaurants. "Al di la," an award-winning Italian restaurant on Fifth Avenue, is a top pick. Also popular is "Franny's" for pizza and wine on Flatbush Avenue and "Palo Santo" for Latin American fare. One of my favorites is "Alchemy," where you'll find one of the best burgers in town.
As for nightlife, locals flock to bars like "Barbès" and "Union Hall" for live music and drinks. Further south, hit up hotspots like "Beer Table" and "Sidecar" for great drink and food menus.
Park Slope Activities & Attractions:
Park Slope's main attraction is, of course, the park: Prospect Park's 585 acres offer up everything from a Farmers' Market and free concerts in warmer months to ice skating and sledding in the winter.
Park Slope also boasts a central location to many other Brooklyn attractions, such as the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and the Brooklyn Museum.
Park Slope Shopping:
Park Slope is filled with boutiques and independent stores, making it a popular Brooklyn shopping destination. A walk down Fifth Avenue or Seventh Avenue will turn up all sorts of shopping gems. Don't miss "Cog & Pearl," which sells handcrafted jewelry, bags, art, and more, much of which is produced by local designers. Other favorites include "Beacon's Closet" for thrift store finds, "Goldy + Mac" for trendy women's fashions, and "Bird," which sells coveted high-end brands like Stella McCartney and A.P.C.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hilary's, the room is way bigger than it looks on the picture, it is like having your own appartment. You can go pretty much anywhere in Brooklyn and Manhattan with the subway lines (N,R,F). Hilary and her roomate were really nice and discreet. I definitely recommand this place!
It was a great stay at Hilarys place. Hilary was very friendly and helpful and the communication was perfect! She even left us some food in the fridge because we arrived on christmasday and everything around was closed!!! The room is exactly like in the picture, well located, very cosy and warm but it could be a little bit cleaner. All in all a nice experience! I would recommend staying at Hilarys place!
I had a great stay at Hilary's! I met her as I checked-in and she offered to carry both me and my friend's heavy carry-on down to the room. She gave us detailed directions to the metro station, and even remembered that I had an interview to write a "good luck" email. NYC was very cold during our stay, but the temperature in the room was adequate and comfortable. Hilary was also extremely flexible and accommodating of our needs. I would definitely recommend staying at Hilary's for anyone visiting NYC! :)
Great, no problems at all.
Setting was as described. Convenient location. Heating was inadequate for the weather.
This is a great space to stay in Park Slope. The spiral stairs are narrow, but that actually adds to the feeling of privacy. I didn't get to meet Hilary, but she got me explicit instructions ahead of time for getting in.
We recently had the pleasure of staying at Hilary's place. As a host, Hilary couldn't have been nicer or more helpful - she welcomed us with delightful macarons and was so forthcoming with information and tips before we arrived and throughout our whole stay. Hilary's place was as described: the bed was comfortable, the bathroom and shower worked well and were clean and we had access to towels and free Wi-Fi during our stay. The location itself was great - close to the subway, Laundromats, convenience stores and many dining and drinking options on 5th Avenue. Thank you Hilary!
Hilary was a great host! She helped us per telephone to get to her apartment because we arrived by Bus in Manhattan and not in Brooklyn after a short stay in Boston. We could use the whole basement which constists of a big room and a private bath; we also had a door leading to the small garden behind the house, where a nice fig tree grows :-). Hilary was not in the apartment while we stayed there, but we met her very kind flatmate who made delicious pumpkin muffins that she offered us :-)). And the subway station is right around the corner! So thanks for everything and we would definitely come back!
Very comfortable space in a great part of Brooklyn! Hilary was always in touch when arranging the stay and flexible once we were there. She really helped make our time in Park Slope excellent!!
Hilary was a very warm and accommodating host. She gave excellent directions and suggestions. We had a nice comfy bed to sleep in, A/C for the warm days, a nice little porch area and our own private bathroom. The room is very self-contained and we couldn't hear a sound coming from upstairs. I highly recommend her place! Thank you so much for the cookies Hilary. They were a very sweet gift to find after our first hectic day in the city!
