Access to Melbourne's central business district is on your doorstep, with Collins Street, Bourke Street, Flinders Street and Docklands all within a 2 minute walk.

The apartment is located within the heritage listed Grand Hotel, which is the former stone railway building on Spencer Street between Flinders Street and Collins Street, built in 1892.

The kitchen is equipped with an oven, stove, microwave, refrigerator, slow cooker, kettle, toaster, blender, dishwasher, pots, pans and everything else you need for making home-cooked meals.

Living area has dining table, a 3-seater couch and a 42" plasma TV with lots of DVD's to choose from.

Minimum 2 night stay unless otherwise negotiated to fill vacancies between bookings.

Security deposit requested for apartment key, building access FOB and Miki card, which is an electronic train ticket, that you can use for public transport in Melbourne.

  • Stayed here for a business trip and it is an ideal location for getting around the Melbourne CBD and beyond. A well equipped kitchen. The trains are very close but thanks to the double windows, the sound is not obtrusive. Didn't see much of Steve as he was out of town but he is always available by text. Friendly guy who is very helpful and very flexible. Have to say the WiFi is very fast. For the gym bunnies, the gym has treadmills, bikes and a rowing machine as well as a couple of barbells and a full set of dumbbells and a couple of Swiss balls. Definitely recommend staying here.

  • I stayed in Steven's flat for a month whilst on an exchange programme from university. Fantastic location with most places in the CBD reachable in less than a 15 minute walk. The main entrance looks at the 96 tram stop to St Kilda and equidistant from Southern Cross and Flinders Street station.

    Place itself was clean, well presented and importantly the bed was very comfortable. The room is spacious and has all the facilities you could need. The gym/pool/sauna/terrace/BBQ area downstairs was a great bonus.

    Steven was an extremely accommodating host, replied to any emails/texts within the hour and was more than happy to help whenever I had a question. Importantly, he was a really nice guy and happy to chat/swap stories when he's around.

    Overall, couldn't have asked for more - 10/10. You stay again if ever in Melbourne and would happily recommend to family & friends.

  • Stayed here for roughly 3 weeks. Great landlord, great accommodation with gym & pool & spa area. Definitely recommend for other people looking to rent.

  • We had a great stay at steve's place! the house is an old building with a hotel in it and we were allowed to use the pool & spa!
    steve is a great host, although we didn't see him too much :-p but whenever we needed something or had a question he was available on mobile phone.
    you can reach the tram just by walking a few metres - perfect. and if you want you could even walk to cbd in a few minutes.

    we enjoyed our stay in melbourne & at steves home very much! highly recommended :.-)

  • Great house. Steven wasn´t in at that time, so we had the whole place for ourselve. I also liked very much the pool and sauna.

  • The apartment is in a beautiful old building, that has 3 floors of residents, and 3 floors that are the Grand Hotel. This is a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment. You may have it to yourself, or you may share it. It is plenty big, so that even if sharing, you don't get in each other's way. There was a gentleman staying in the downstairs room, and we barely saw or heard him.

    We stayed in the upstairs room, which was comfortable and plenty big. The bathroom was also roomy, and even had a blow dryer available. On the keychain, Steve provides a myki card, the card needed for all the trams and buses in the city. Simply load on the money you need for your stay, and you are set. Not need to purchase the card too - a thoughtful bonus!

    My adult daughter and I stayed at Steve's place for 4 nights in October. We split our stay into 2 days, and then went on a 3 day GOR tour, and then returned for 2 more days in the city. The apartment was the perfect place - great location, literally across the street from the Southern Cross Station (where you arrive and return to the Melbourne airport via the Skybus), easy walking distance to most major attractions in the city, grocery store, coffee shops and a great pizza place also across the street.

    We cooked in the kitchen and also ate out - but it was really nice to be able to have breakfast in the apartment each morning before we headed out. Everything we needed was there-

    Steve was easy to make arrangements with and is very personable. He was very accomodating for us, in that he let us leave our huge suitcase in the apartment when we went on our tour between our stays - so very helpful!

    Overall, a terrific find - I would certainly stay here again, or reccommend it to anyone!

  • Het appartement van Steven is prachtig centraal gelegen in Melbourne en is gesitueerd in een prachtig gebouw. De gasrvrijheid viel ons echter tegen. Steven ontmoette ons op de afgesproken tijd, liet ons binnen, gaf ons enige uitleg en verdween snel. Het apartement was niet schoon en vooral de badkamer niet. In de wasmachine zat een was die er al die 5 dagen niet is uitgehaald en wij kregen bij binnenkomst 2 handdoeken die we 6 dagen hebben gebruikt. We wisten niet waar we nieuwe konden halen. Er is in het apartement 1 badkamer die we met Steven en andere gast moesten delen. Gelukkig voor ons was er 4 dagen geen andere gast en Steven was dus niet thuis.
    Nee voor mij is geen b en b ik heb betere ervaringen met air benb.

  • The room was great. The whole apartment was clean and lovely. The location could not have been more centrally located with easy access to public transport. Very safe area. Steven was just a joy, such a nice guy. I would love to come back.
