We had a fantastic stay at Riad Helen. A spotlessly clean, beautiful riad with a lovely shady roof terrace for when the heat of the souks gets too much and a delicious, varied breakfast is waiting for you when you wake up. The hosts, Mario and Maxime, were wonderful - friendly, kind and always willing to offer some help, advice or local knowledge. Location is great, just a 5 to 10 minute walk from the main square and not far from the Supratours ticket office if you plan on continuing your journey in Morocco.
We will definitely be recommending to others.
A truly fantastic experience! Riad Helen is a beautiful building and location, a true sanctuary of peace, quiet, comfort and hospitality amid the bustle of Marrakech's median - but what sets it apart and makes it truly special are the hosts. Mario and Maxime went the extra mile in every respect to make our stay perfect - sharing local knowledge, making recommendations, showing flexibility, booking reservations, and generally being the most friendly, authentic and helpful hosts that we can remember - anywhere. The riad staff were the same; a highlight of our stay was having the opportunity to go to the local market with Fatiha (the in-house chef) to buy local ingredients for our evening meal, and being shown how the magic happens in Moroccan cuisine. The room was a delight - light, fragrant, spacious, comfortable and quiet, and everything is kept spotlessly clean, tidy and fresh - and the whole riad, including the lovely sun-terrace (which we'd have used more if the weather hadn't been so blisteringly hot!), is effortlessly elegant with Moroccan styling vernacular.
We thoroughly recommend Riad Helen and hope to return at some point in the future. Thank you Maxime and Mario!
Maxime and mario was really friendly and helpful. Even when we arrived late from casablanca late they were still up waiting to welcome us. They even helped us converse with the tour agency we signed up with in french which made everything smooth. Fatima's breakfast is always a pleasant surprise. Honestly there were lots of food prepared for me and my friend for breakfast. The room was also always cleaned aft we cane back from our day activities. Riad Helen is definitely the place to stay in marrakech. Would definitely stay there again if I'm in Marrakech:)
Maxime and Mario were great hosts. Iv never come across anyone like them in all the times I have stayed in air bnb apartments. They went out of their way to help with anything and everything.
The riad was wonderful, nice court yard in the middle to sit and chill out and also a really good rooftop seating area which was nice for the evening. The riad itself was really clean and well presented. The yellow room which we stayed in was modern, clean and had air con. Fatiha who works at the riad made a lovely breakfast each morning, consisting of a lot of food and varieties. We were able to help ourselves to water bottles from the fridge which was good as it saved us carrying it to the riad (not so easy in the 40 degree heat!)
Overall we really enjoyed our stay there and would recommend it to others.
Maxime and Mario were very welcoming when we arrived at Riad Helen, they offered us drinks, showed us around the Riad and finally provided us with a map and recommendations for how we should spend our time in Marrakech and where we should eat. We did exactly as they recommended and loved our time in Marrakech and riad Helen! The riad was beautifully presented and the yellow room was lovely, it had everything we needed. The breakfast was also a great way to start the day! Thank you Maxime and Mario! We hope to see you again soon!
Mario was so amazing! I was communicating with him, even before our trip for about two weeks or more. He gave us such great tips and was so helpful throughout our entire trip. He would help us book tours, taxis, etc. I felt so bad for being such a nuisance, since our plans was all over the place, but he never made us feel bad. He would just go with the flow and help us through all our small traveling issues. I am so grateful for that. The riad is so clean, bright and welcoming. Breakfast is served every morning, and if you want dinner, you can let Mario know ahead of time too. The location of the place was so nice. It's on the other side of the huge marketplace, but still in the midst of the medina. It's about a 15-25 minute walk to the marketplace, but you're really close to the souks (where you may get lost for hours). We actually stayed at another riad the first night, because this was booked. This location was so much more relaxed and down-to-earth. Coming from LA, we love down-to-earth places. There's a couple restaurants and shops for water, etc. around the corner too. Everything was always clean, and stocked with toothpaste, toilet paper, etc. I would recommend Mario and Maxime's riad any day, any time. I loved our stay here!!
Such a lovely riad in Marrakesh! Room is more beautiful in real life, tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. We stayed in the 'yellow room'. Amazing touches that you don't find any in other riads, like laundry soap and toiletries that are so helpful when travelling for a few weeks in Morocco. Wanted to stay another night but was fully booked!
Hosts were so helpful, greeted us with tea and hand drawn maps of the area that came in very useful. Full of tips and extremely helpful with suggestions for spas, restaurants etc. A+! Would highly recommend.
