Apartment of 70 sqm on the ground floor of an ancient building in the historical center of Siena, just a few meters from the Accademia Chigiana and behind Piazza del Campo. Living room with table and sofa, kitchen, bathroom, very large bedroom with a double bed and a single bed. Ceilings with beams, exposed brick and terracotta floors in the typical Tuscan style.
The environment is very quiet and extremely comfortable. In the area there are several restaurants and shops.
It is a great place to visit the whole town by walking and to be a protagonist "in the front row" during the suggestive and famous all over the world "Palio". The horse race is twice a year: on July 2 and August 16. During the Palio period, we ask a minimum stay of one week.
The house is easily accessible by public transport, and it is well connected to the railway and bus station.
The house has three beds. If you are in four please consider that we add a folding bed in the living room.
You will stay in the heart of Siena!
Very convenient with just a short walk to the center of town. The bedroom and living room are good size, and clean. We felt very comfortable. Kitchen is small but fine if you want to cook, though with all of the great restaurants around, not sure why you would want to. Only issue was the shower, as its difficult to keep water from leaking onto the floor. We were told about this upon check-in, and solved the problem with a few extra towels. No issue. We hope to come back to Sienna and Laura's flat for the horse race later this summer. Sienna is a beautiful city !
Appartement très bien situé et très bien chauffé
Chambre spacieuse, serviettes fournies
Everithing was fine! thank you Laura ;-)
We were thrilled to stay in a medieval building literally two minutes to the campo. The bedroom is large and the kitchenette suitable for simple meals. Laura and her assistant in Siena , Vittoria, are friendly and responsive and let us store our bags until the afternoon of our day of checkout. Wifi was fast and always on. Our only suggestion would be to look into the hot water for the shower which has a habit of switching between hot and cold. Overall, a very pleasant stay in what definitely is the heart of Siena.
Siena is a beautiful place and the apartment is very centrally located. Unfortunately during our stay there was an issue with the plumbing which caused a serious leak during the night. My husband mopped up the leak for about 5 hours in the early hours until a plumber arrived. We were without water for a good part of the next day. We understand these kind of things occur but would have expected some offer of compensation for this major inconvenience. None was forthcoming and we can't recommend this apartment.
What a lovely quirky place. So convenient for everything, and as someone else has said, literally 2 minutes from the square. The place was roomy and the bedroom light and bright. The bed was very comfortable and a family with children could fit very well into the bedroom, with the extra beds.Nice to be left a generous set of lovely soft towels.
This was a spacious little apartment just off the Piazza Il Campo, close to everything. It is, however, within the restricted parking area, so we had to haul luggage for a 10-12 minute walk, mostly uphill on the way in. No biggie, if you pack for it.
The apartment was as presented on the listing: spacious and very clean. The bedroom is especially nice.
I would have to agree with the wife's assessment that the bathroom is the biggest detraction - old and in need of updating. The shower was almost makeshift and the hot water was inconsistent, even while shutting it off between wet down & rinse.
Also lacking was a microwave, real glasses, tv and/or radio. The kitchen was equipped to cook in, but hey, it's vacation, so that didn't happen.
Bottom line: Siena will likely be a day trip should we ever venture back there. I would consider staying here again for the location it spending more than a day.
Oh, we had the most wonderful time in Siena. We came to watch the Palio (horse race) in the middle of August. So it was hot and crowded with people. Laura's little, le apartment became our refuge. It literally cooled us off when we popped in now and then during the days we were in Siena. Because it was so perfectly located, it was 1 minute walk to the campo! We had one of the horses from the race parked right next to our place, we couldn't believe it.
Laura and her assistant Vittoria took great care of us and we're very welcoming and helpful. We checked in really late at night since our train was delayed but it was not a problem for our hosts. Laura kept in touch with us until we were settled in the apartment which Vittoria made happen since she was so sweet to come meet us in the middle of the night and even though we all were tired after a long dayshe kindly sat down with us to chit chat for a bit about Siena and the Palio race.
The apartment itself is literally and figuratively speaking very cool. The bed was big and comfortable and bathroom was fresh. The kitchen we didn't use as much but it looked well equipped for light cooking. We had wifi, so thumbs up for that.
Both Laura and Vittoria were such sweet people. We had a great first experience with airbnb thanks to them. They were both quick to respond to any queries we had, so we felt safe and comfortable.
We highly recommend this place.
The apartment was in a fantastic central location but also in a real neighbourhood. Mostly very quiet. The outside of the front door was photographed by lots of tourists! The facilities were basic, which was OK as we didn't want to cook much, but it would have been difficult if we had wanted to. There were not enough large cups for 4 people and no sharp knife or chopping/bread board. Communicaton was good and Laura was quick to respond when things the wifi didn't work. We had a great time in Siena.
This is a very nice apartment. Roomy and clean. Beautiful neighborhood. My only complaint was that it was extremely to find. It would have been helpful if the host had a meeting place. The wifi also never worked
