Having stayed at quite a number of places through AirBnB, no one has even come close to Bianca in terms of her exceptional hospitality. My husband and I arrived on a Sunday, but because there were no buses to Pitigliano on Sundays, Bianca offered to drive us the 50km from the train station herself. When we arrived at the apartment we found it had been stocked with all the basics we could want, plus she had made us a cake! Although communication was not always easy -- we don't speak Italian and Bianca doesn't speak English -- we were able to figure everything out with the help of (website hidden) Translate and charades-like guessing. She is a truly lovely person and a superior host. The apartment itself was quite nice (definitely nicer in person than in the photos), very conveniently located in the heart of the old town near all sites and restaurants, very cool despite no air conditioning (nothing in town seems to need it!), and perfectly clean. The entrance to the vie cave is located just down the street and down the stairs at the Porta Sovana and exploring the several different paths made for a great day (once you get on the trails they are well marked so don't worry about the lack of accurate maps available). We enthusiastically recommend staying here and having the opportunity to meet Bianca!
Bianca was a great host! While she doesn't speak English, she makes a tremendous effort to communicate. We couldn't have had a better host. The flat was very comfortable, and was supplied with lots of extras like food, drinks, laundry soap, and an abundance of cooking equipment and tools.
This flat is situated RIGHT in the centre of Pitigliano. It really is safe, historic neighbourhood.
I recommend Bianca's apartment very highly!
The apartment is located on a beautiful little sloping alley between medieval buildings in the middle of the old town, and about 20 feet further down the alley there's an amazing balcony where you can see the whole village on its dramatic cliff side. The apartment is small but cozy and very clean. There's a pellet stove that makes the place cheery, though the floor can be chilly in winter. The bed is very comfortable and had nice thick blankets.
Bianca is a sweet host and she added a personal touch to our visit. My wife and I would love to go back some time.
