IDEAL HOLIDAY WEEKENDS! Nice house newly reconstructed from ancient ruins existing in the Sierra de la Muela. It has spectacular views of the Mayes lake and near the Sierra de Ricote. If you need a few days of relax this is your perfect place. With mountain bike trails, horseback,..
The house has 3 bedrooms with 3 doble beds, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, a summer terrace and a winter (north and south).
The home has 3 bedrooms with 2 double beds and two singles, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, a summer terrace and one winter (north and south). There are also two sofa beds for 2 people more.
The house functions as old-fashioned, no electricity and water tank. It is very bright during the day thanks to its many windows and windows and lights candles and oil lamps at night. Electricity (if desired) is provided by a generator, but in theory is designed to be environmentally friendly and use as little as possible. There is mobile coverage (your boss may not know...).
Among the provisions of the property is a barn. It is perfect for families who want to travel with their horses (for information: a 5km is located a beautiful riding).
Although away from the madding crowd and civilization at 4km radius has a great deal of specialized gastronomic route in rice and native foods.
Public transport does not reach this place but the nearest town is Archena ( 15 minute drive from the cottage). If is neccesary and you are less than 4, we can take you by car to the house.
Se pide a los huéspedes que dejen la casa sencillamente como se la encuentran. Tratar con respeto las instalaciones y enseres de la propiedad y sobre todo tratar con respeto y conciencia la naturaleza circundante.
Guests are asked to leave the house just as it was found. Treat with respect the facilities and equipment of the property and especially treated with respect and awareness surrounding nature.
The house was incredible and the hosts were very accommodating. They met with us in Archena and led us all the way into the hills. It's a bit of a trek, but worth every second. The area is remarkable - complete silence and stunning views. Only advice for future visitors is to be confident about your directions. We got a bit lost one night but if you know how to get to and from the house, you won't have any issues. We loved it!
I didn’t get the chance to meet at your rental place because instructions have been given to Pablo at your other residence. So I cannot confirm what has been agreed between the two of you in regards to some rules. However, let me reply to some of the comments that have been made here. We didn’t throw the towels and bed sheets intentionally on the floor. It is common, like in a hotel, to put used bed sheets and wet towels on ceramic floor in order to not damage the wooden furniture or the mattress.
The morning of departure to the airport, the hot water boiler stopped working because the tank ran out of natural gas.(I informed you thru airbnb). Therefore, we had no hot water to wash the dishes of one meal. However, I want to point out that you received a prepaid amount to clean up the place after my departure.
For windows, I can ensure that we closed all of them. Maybe your comment refers to the indoor wooden shutters. Two of them are difficult to close because the latches are not aligned. (Please check the window on the left of the patio door and in master bedroom)
For the gasoline generator that remains on the rear balcony, I haven’t been informed that it should be moved inside. If you had instructed me on airbnb (rules and equipment tabs) I would have done it with pleasure.
Following those clarifications, the total amount of my deposit should be reimbursed. Nothing has been broken or lost.
On the other hand, I would recommend the followings for future rentals:
As you mentioned in your advertizing, your house works as old-fashion but it would be a better place to stay if the basics provided in the house, work properly. There are many small things that need maintenance and repairs. Windows latches, front door latch has no knob (not safe). Missing a sink and fridge in the kitchen. bathroom mirror.
The hot water boiler is located outside and due to the wind, the flame always flickered out (at least 6 times during my stay). The boiler has been installed 10 meters lower than the ground floor and access by the outdoor is not easy. Installation of a wall near the boiler would be very useful to block the wind.
The generator has been installed on the patio next to the dinning room and must be started when light is required or when water needs to be pumped to roof tank. The noise and smell of gasoline is very annoying. The doors must remain closed and unfortunately it kills the panoramic view. I suggest to shift it to the side of the house.
Back of the house, when you look down, you see a lot of construction debris in the garden, dead palm trees. A minimal cleaning would make it nicer.
On airbnb, please put a clear list of all your rules to avoid any misunderstanding.
