I really have very few rules.
Mi casa es su casa. Treat my home as you would expect me to treat yours.
1. Smoking out doors only and please dispose of the butts in canisters provided on the porch located outside the exterior room door.
2. Obviously, no illegal drugs of any kind are permitted.
3. Please never leave any lighted candle unattended.
4. Unplug all small appliances when not in use, (ie: hair dryers, curling irons, clothes iron, coffee pot, toaster, etc. both for safety and energy consumption).
5. Please adhere to Portland's ideology of recycling as much as possible. We believe in "Green" here.
6. Please lock up and secure the place when out exploring and enjoying our awesome city!
Kathleen was a great host! We tend to keep to ourselves, and she allowed us the freedom of a hotel room, but was always available for suggestions on restaurants or sights to see. The house is in a wonderful part of town, close to the public transport and close enough to walk to many local restaurants. She provided many amenities like TV with Chromecast, toiletries for the shower, and breakfast in the morning. (The coffee cakes were amazing) She has a hot tub in the back yard, and it's fantastic.
If we come back to Portland we will absolutely look her up again!!
Kathleen was amazing! This was our first experience with Airbnb and it couldn't have been better. Kathleen picked us up from the MAX line and made us feel completely at home in her place. She also gave us some great recommendations on things to do/see in the city. Thank you for breakfast everyday Kathleen!! :) The bed was comfortable and the hot tub was AMAZIIIING!! Her place is in a nice neighborhood and an easy 10 minute walk from MAX line.
My girlfriend and I had a relaxing time here. Our host was very accommodating and helpful. We certainly would stay here again.
Kathleen is an amazing host! The room is great, too -- very comfortable bed, very quiet, and the black curtains are wonderful if you want to sleep in and not be awoken by the sunshine. Watson is a sweet bundle of doggie energy. It is a bit of a walk from the MAX station (about a quarter of a mile), so be prepared. It's a mostly flat walk, though it was raining when I arrived and I was happy I had an umbrella with me. Though, Kathleen gave me a ride to the MAX station when I left, which was unexpected and generous! I loved the extra touches of having glasses and a fresh bottle of water in the room, and juices in the fridge. I will definitely stay with her again -- I loved her and the room!
Kathleen's beautiful home was the first stop on our Portland trip though unfortunately our flight was delayed and we ended up being stranded in Las Vegas. Kathleen was amazing and a great communicator throughout the entire experience. She was the silver lining to an otherwise awful experience. Unfortunately we never made it to her home, but based simply on our interactions with her, we would definitely recommend a stay with her highly!
Loved the cozy home and comfortable queen bed, nice patio and hot tub access from this room. We were warmly welcomed and surprised with all the nice extra touches.
Kathleen was a great host, good at quick communication and coordination. Flexible and responsive. Beautiful dog who we wouldn't have known was there until she told us.
Free and easy parking, quick access to I-84 for downtown or airport access. This was our first Airbnb and we had a great time. We look forward to traveling this way again soon.
We would stay here again when we travel back to Portland!

About the Host, Kathleen
Hey there Travelers!
I'm fun-loving, very social and love meeting new people. I embrace diversity and value people's differences as much as I enjoy sharing common interests with them.
I am fascinated with other cultures and traditions and always seek ways to broaden my world. I figured opening my home to travelers would be a fine way to nurture that goal.
I love to garden, cook, read and I am an aspiring writer. I love art in every form. My music interests include almost every genre. Speaking of art, I'm something of an artist at putting my feet up in my garden with a glass of wine at the end of a hard day's work and you are welcome to join when you're here!
I wish I could travel more, but lead a very busy life helping manage a local restaurant. A busy fine dining/ live music venue featuring fantastic local musicians.
Being in the restaurant/bar industry allows me to appreciate people from all walks of life. Everyone has a story. I look forward to hearing yours if you're in a sharing mood.
No pressure! :)
I love animals as much as I love people. My beloved Boxer, Mugsy died at the ripe old age of ten. He went deaf in his last years, but since I have a background in special education, working with deaf and hard of hearing children, I had the foresight to teach him sign language as a puppy, so we didn't have any trouble communicating in his last years! It took me a long time to grieve for him. My latest Boxer is now 2 years old. He is a handsome, playful, very joyful companion and is also learning to understand sign language. Come meet Watson!
Being a Boxer owner might tell you a little about me. Boxers are smart, loyal, full of energy, fun loving, and maintain their playful "puppy-like" attitude their whole life! They can also be rather stubborn and determined at times! People who choose the breed appreciate those qualities, most likely because they themselves exhibit the same traits! :)
I'm humbled when friends have described me with these traits and surely aspire to live my life as large and loving as a boxer!
I look forward to hosting you during your stay here in beautiful, Portland, Oregon! Welcome!
