The Space

Gorgeous, cozy Airstream located in the best neighborhood in LA.

Our 1962, 22ft Airstream Safari has just been completely refurbished to full vintage glory - dark wood cabinetry, bespoke upholstery, cork floors, retro-chic design and all modern comforts in a tropical oasis in the very heart of Venice, CA.

The airstream is set in a 5,000 sq ft lot surrounded by tropical plants, flowers and herbs. In the back garden, there is an outdoor living area which includes dining area with fridge, microwave, comfy and spacious seating area with sofa and chairs, vintage '60s fireplace.

We've just built a wonderful outdoor bathroom for Airstream guests, with claw-foot bath, shower, toilet and sink as well as an open-air ceiling and sliding wooden windows.

The Airstream is located in a quiet residential street in the very heart of Venice, CA (see map). A quick 5 min walk to Abbot Kinney Blvd (recently named 'the coolest street in America' - GQ). 7 min walk to the famous Venice boardwalk and beach. See our Guidebook for great places to eat and things to do and see.

-Kitchen/Living Area: twin dinette seats (can fold out to double bed) cushions, brushed stainless steel table, Fully-stocked kitchen: (water filter, coffee maker, glassware, flatware, pots/pans, eco-friendly cleaning products etc..) original '60s working refrigerator and oven, electric kettle, brushed stainless steel surfaces and sink.

-Bedroom: double bed (can be folded to use as a sofa), 2 closets with plenty of space to hang clothes.

-Bathroom: Working sink. The bathroom, located approx 15 yards from the Airstream, in our back garden has toilet, shower, bath.

Also includes all linens and towels, heater, fan, ironing board.

We make every effort to be as eco-friendly as possible, using only 'green' cleaning products, energy-saving bulbs, recycled paper towels etc.
When booking, please specify if you will need more than one bed (this makes the Airstream a little cramped). Also, please let us know in advance if you are traveling with any pets.

The property is shared with our house and our 60s' trailer. It's a large property, but please be aware that the outdoor bathroom is shared with the trailer (when rented).

Please note that there is no hot water in the Airstream and that gas for cooking is operated via the propane tank (let us know if you'd like us to turn this on). The large outdoor bathroom has plenty of hot running water!

There is always plenty of street parking available, and we also have bikes available for rent.

Please feel free to contact us about rates for photo/video shoots.

Look forward to meeting you and making your stay as pleasant as possible!

  • We enjoyed a spring weekend "glamping" in the Airstream, which was a fun way to experience the very eclectic Venice Beach. It was a bit chilly in the evenings, but we simply layered another blanket on the bed, and we were fine! Ro and Tao were hospitable hosts and we enjoyed sharing a home with them for the weekend.

  • Wow! This place is absolutely amazing. I was visiting a friend living in West Hollywood for the weekend, but wanted to lay roots closer to the beach. Upon my arrival, I was warmly greeted and provided with a tour of the property. I instantly fell in love with the Airstream and the beautiful backyard, not to mention the vibrant community beyond the property gates. If you are looking for adventure and a truly fantastic experience in Venice Beach, I highly recommend staying with Ro and Tao.

  • Our stay in the airstream was wonderful! Ro and Tao have a beautiful garden in which the Airstream is situated and we enjoyed our quiet enclave that was a 15 minute walk from the beach.

  • My first airbnb experience was wonderful! Staying in the airstream in Venice Beach was such a fun time. My friend and I only stayed one night but we loved the location, the owners and even their other guests who were also staying on the property.

  • Fun stay in vintage camper. Great location as within walking distance of Abbott Kinney and Venice beach. Camper can become a bit cramped though, especially since we were traveling with our little boy and therefore three. Outside area makes up for it...

  • The airstream was so nice. Perfect for a true Venice experience. The pictures and description were 100% accurate. I actually found the gardens and outdoor bathroom to be more lovely than the pictures even suggested! Rosin and Tao are perfect hosts: available when you need something and not in your way when you don't. Highly recommended!!!

  • We had a great stay! The property was gorgeous and just a quick walk to some awesome areas.

  • We loved staying in the Airstream! The property is perfectly quirky and well-maintained. And the hosts were also wonderful. Be aware if you get up at night to go to the bathroom (as my hubby needs to), you have to go around the house to the back yard restroom. I didn't have much of an issue, but some would. We love quirky and vintage trailers, so we absolutely loved our stay.

  • I loved staying here. Watch the pacific suck the marrow out of the day after a short stroll to the beach. Empty your wallet on Abbot Kinney & take your pick of kombuchas at the nearby Whole Foods. It's all walkable. Paradoxically, there's also plenty of parking. A little bohemian permaculture paradise in the City of Angeles.

Hi! Ro is a researcher from N. Ireland and Tao is an Italian/American photographer and film-maker. We've both lived in several places (Ireland, England, NY, Italy, Spain) and love to travel. For us, the opportunity that Airbnb brings in meeting people from all over the world is fantastic and we love welcoming people to our home. We moved to our lovely home in Venice a couple of years ago and have had a great time remodeling and renovating it. Venice is wonderful, dynamic neighborhood with the best vibe, restaurants, shops, weather and sites in L.A. Please feel free to send us any questions. Thanks!
