This urban, industrial style, one bedroom, one bathroom loft is located in the heart of Calgary's entertainment and dining district. From this location on 17th Avenue, you are within a 10 minute walk of the downtown core, Stampede grounds, Saddledome (professional sporting events and concerts), Talisman Centre (recreation and fitness), C-Train (Calgary public transit), shopping and many of Calgary's best restaurants and bars. *Please keep in mind that because this apartment is located right in the middle of the pub and restaurant district, it can be loud at night (especially on weekends).
The apartment is fully furnished and features approximately 650 square feet of living space, 10 foot ceilings, open floor-plan, large, south-facing windows, polished concrete floors, queen-sized bed, 50-inch plasma TV (with cable), wireless internet, wireless printer, pull out sofa (to accomodate up to two extra guests) and plenty of closet space. There is also an assigned (free) parking space behind the building should you need it.
Some of my favorite things to do that are within a 10 minute walking distance: Walks along the Elbow River, going for coffee and crepes at La Boulengerie, margaritas at Anejo Restaurant, watching a Calgary Flames game, visiting the Elbow Casino for table games or to watch Yuk Yuk's live stand-up comedy, shopping at The Core, going for lunch at Boxwood Restaurant or visiting Sunterra Market for organic produce.
*As a side note, this apartment is in an older building. This means that during the winter, it may be cold in the apartment. There is a space heater that will keep it warm enough, but it should be turned on when the temperature is below freezing. Also, due to the relative thinness of the walls, it can be loud at times. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to bring earplugs or play ambient music at night.
There is an assigned parking stall in behind the building, which guests will have access to for their entire stay.
The C-train is 6 blocks (10 minute) walk from apartment. A taxi to/from the airport takes about 15 minutes and costs about $35.
-There will be a base of cooking supplies like spices, oil, condiments, etc. that you are welcome to use.
-Clean sheets and towels will be provided.
-This is a non-smoking building. If you wish to smoke, you must do so outside.
-It is expected that the apartment will be left in a reasonably clean state. Please put dishes in the dishwasher and start it before you leave. Also, please put away items that you have taken out of cupboards/closets.
