  • My family and I were part of a team hosting an annual event at Grant Park so we needed a home near the event location. I came across Melissa's listing and thought it would be ideal. Melissa was very quick to respond to all my questions and, when we arrived, we couldn't have been more happier! The house was very clean, the rooms good sized and the beds were oh so comfy ( so key after a day of working at an event). There was more than enough room for the folks in our party (6 adults, 3 children) plus all the things we needed for the event. We ate at the Carroll Street Café, Agave and Little's Food Store all conveniently located on the same street. And we also cooked it up at the house (all the kitchen utensils/pots/pans you need for your own home cooking are provided - yay!). There's also a little park down the street that was great for the kids. Getting around was a cinch since this home is located near I20 and I75/85. A great first experience with Melissa and Airbnb! I highly recommend Melissa and this property :)

  • Perfect was how I describe our stay @ Melissa's in Cabbage town! My family was in town for only one night. Soooo... much better than a hotel. The home is clean, neat and has everything you could need, including parking. My son and daughter-in-law loved the master bedroom with the big four poster bed and large, black & white tiled bathroom. I loved the coffee provided. The kids even put their electronics away to play chess and checkers when they discovered the "chest" of board games.
The location is great. Close to lots of things. We had spent the day @ the zoo, were hot and tired but arrived quickly when we decided our day was done. The little cafe across the street has great desserts and breakfast with a friendly staff. I had been concerned about noise @ night from them...but it was not a problem for us. I felt safe walking with the children in the neiborhood.
Melissa was very quick to respond to any queries. I would definately stay in this home again. Thanks Melissa for making ours a wonderful stay in Atlanta!

  • My wife and I where in town to celebrate her birthday, we found this beautiful historic home in Cabbage town that was close to everything. We immediately contact the owner and within the hour Melissa contact us back. The house was beautiful decorated just like the pictures, and it was in excellent condition. We had a great time in the city and in the home. Uber drivers had no problem finding the house, and everyone new exactly where Cabbage town was located in Atlanta. The house sits across the street to a local cafe that served great food, price and great service. We would stay here again in the future, and recommend to all our friends. Thanks Melissa for making our arrival easy, and our stay pleasant.

  • Melissa was excellent in getting back to us so quickly, short notice and on fathers day. The neighborhood is quaint, we come from the city in NJ. Neighbors were all so friendly and helpful since we are planning to relocate to Georgia. Happily, everyone is dog friendly.
The house was so much more then we expected, beautifully furnished and prepped with so much information for the out of towner. Just need to remind renters to read the welcome book first thing.
It is so close to town and the cafe across the street is one of the best we have ever been to.

  • Wonderful house, wonderful location. Perfect for our family get-together. Even nicer than we expected. Thanks Melissa.

  • The house was in great shape, and I loved the neighborhood and narrow street out front. I'd happily stay here again!

  • The house is everything we expected! It's a well kept historic home. The master bathroom is to die for, and the beds were amazingly comfortable. I love this place in Cabbagetown. I lived in Atlanta for two years and had no idea this gem of an area existed. The house is literally across the street from a cafe/restaurant and convenience store that both serve great food - very convenient for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a hearty snack. Melissa was a wonderful host. I didn't actually get a chance to meet her, but I didn't need to. She was very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed.

  • This was an awesome house! What a great bathroom and 3 king beds to boot. My only small complaint would be that the kitchen and the living room look a lot roomier in the pictures than I thought they were.

The neighborhood (Cabbagetown) is close to everything. Have a breakfast at Ria bluebird which a is a mile away. Fantastic!

  • We came as a team for a business conference. The location was very convenient to downtown and allowed us to avoid the traffic hassles something further out would have included. The space worked very well for our team; the house sleeps 4 singles very easily. The TV and wireless both worked well, we didn't make use of the kitchen. Having off-street parking is a great bonus. The only caveat I'd see is If you're someone who doesn't want to take steps to bed, this is probably not your ideal situation; it's an old house with steep stairs.

As good as the house is, the street is even better; there's a restaurant, a cafe, a pizza place, a neighborhood food mart, (email hidden) all on the opposite side of the street within site of the front porch! Despite that, we didn't really notice an significant noise.

I would definitely consider this again for our team or the next time our family comes down to Atlanta.

About
I'm a high school History teacher at the only high school in Smyrna, Georgia, which also happens to be the school that my teenage son attends. In addition to being a teacher and a mom, I'm also a wife. So obviously, I'm always busy. I absolutely love going to festivals! I also love anything that has to do with history! My husband and I have a goal to start an organization that will focus on assisting inner city youth. Too often, this demographic is falsely incarcerated, and they do not have access to proper legal assistance. Our desire is to start a coalition of professionals who will dedicate pro bono their services to this underrepresented population.
