Enjoy the charm of a heritage building while staying at the best location in downtown Vancouver.
This apartment is located at the Electra Building, the old BC Hydro company building from 1957. Renovated and adapted to residential in 1995 it retains the modernistic charm of the '50s. It was Vancouver’s first skyscraper, then the first commercial building to be designated heritage.

Interaction with guests
I try to meet all my guests on check-in, hand the keys, and explain the basics of the apartment and neighbourhood. I will be available during your stay over the phone, and come by if you need any assistance.
You will be at the best location to explore Vancouver, as the Electra Building is at the very centre of downtown, on the corner of Nelson and Burrard streets. There are many restaurants, coffee shops, bars, clothing stores, within 3 blocks. There's a supermarket (open to midnight everyday) a block away and a drugstore two blocks away.
Coming from the airport It’s a $35 flat-fee to downtown and the ride takes around 25 minutes. The other option would be the subway (Canada Line). That costs $9 each ticket and it will take you around 45 minutes, between waiting time, ride, and a walk of a few blocks.
Public transit options are plenty around the building, but you'll be able to walk everywhere: Convention Centre, Vancouver Art Gallery, Yaletown, Gastown, English Bay, Stanley Park and much more.
Other things to note
Things my guests love about this unit:
– The view!
– Location. Awesome spot for exploring the city on foot.
– Free washer and dryer on the same floor.
– Quiet spot in a downtown setting
– Safe building and area.
– Supermarket one block away, open to midnight.
Things some guests don't like as much:
– The building has no parking. You can park nearby for around $20 per day.
– The blinds don't cut the morning light completely.
– Although this apartment is surprisingly quiet for a downtown location, you'll hear the occasional emergency car siren.
LGBT and straight friendly.
Please note that I only hand keys to the person who booked the reservation and you must show valid picture ID.
Guests must follow the strata bylaws and regulations. You will be asked to sign a Form K (a demand from the building's management), stating you will comply with these bylaws:
No smoking anywhere in the apartment or building, or up to 6 meters from the building's front door.
No drinking alcohol in the common areas of the building.
Respect the laundry room hours (8am to 11pm).
No noise in the lobby, elevators, or hallways.
And these are my own little rules:
No unregistered overnight guests.
No more than 6 people in the apartment at any given moment.
Please remove your shoes when entering the unit (as Canadians do).
Please, avoid removing make-up on the towels. There are Kleenex, cotton pads and cotton swabs provided for that purpose.
Although I don't charge a safety deposit, I trust you to reimburse me in case of any incident (stains, broken glasses, lost keys, etc).
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund, including service fees.

I'm an Airbnb veteran, hosting since July 2010 and loving every minute of it. I do a lot of volunteering, namely as the vice-president of Vancouver Latin American Cultural Centre, and spokesperson of the Brazilian Consulate's Citizen Council.
I immigrated from Brazil to Vancouver in 2008 and got my Canadian citizenship two years ago. Ken, my partner, is the chief film critic of the Georgia Straight, Vancouver's weekly entertainment newspaper. As you can imagine, we watch more movies in one year than most people in their whole lives! I love cooking and baking with the great local products we find here.
I totally fell in love with Vancouver as soon as I got here, and I'm sure you will, too. (Or maybe you are returning for a visit and know exactly what I'm talking about!)
You will find a clean and comfortable apartment at the perfect location to explore the city, and we'll do our best to make your stay enjoyable and stress-free.
Feel free to contact us with any questions.
We hope to see you soon!
