A bright and airy loft space on the top floor of a townhouse on Hudson's reknowned Warren Street. Although the house is being gradually refurbished and was built in the early 1800's, this floor has been fully updated. It is the entire third floor and private though there is NO DOOR between the loft and staircase (see photo of staircase). Only you and your guest(s) will be up there during your stay, and rooms below are unoccupied.
Contemporary furnishings from NYC SoHo showrooms allow for reading, working and relaxing. Floor and ceiling fixtures allow lighting for any task and any mood. Plentiful outlets and powerstrips to charge everyone's everythings simultaneously.
A quality queen sized mattress, good bed linens (courtesy of my Mother), and 5 star hotel quality towels provided (courtesy of the Four Seasons, W and others-unbeknownst to them). All freshly laundered for new guests with unscented non-allergenic detergent. Plenty of pillows and blankets provided.
Sun flows freely in from abundant windows and skylight. Front offers views onto Warren Street, and rear has Mount Merino and Catskill views.
Excellent for weekend trip or extended stay to study or focus on a project (as many a friend has done).
Bathroom on the floor below, retains original charm (aka "needs updating" but this is Hudson, not the Hamptons!) with original claw foot tub with shower and unique marble sink. So far everyone has liked it (except for one old cranky person), and even advised me not to renovate it too much. Excellent hot water and water pressure for refreshing showers and baths. It is shared - if anyone else is in house. I am putting in another bathroom, and when that is done, the price will be commensurate with the new features (i.e it will go up!).
The two best breakfast restaurants are literally next door and across the street. Tanzy's, has an English Lake District feel to it, and Le Perche, has a beautiful oak lined dining room with a fireplace, and a spacious and sunny courtyard to go along with its wood burning oven fare. Both have very tasty cuisine and do not disappoint sophisticated palates. Excellent lunch and dinner options as close or a short stroll as well.
ALL of Hudson's dining, antiques dealers, art galleries, boutiques, shops and cultural venues are within walking distance.
The Amtrak railroad station with trains to New York's Penn Station is a 5-7 minute walk away. Or a 1-2 minute taxi ride which will cost approx $3 before tip.
No air mattress on the floor jammed in a corner for your guests. The day bed is a full-sized mattress and sofa converts to twin bed.
Hair dryer and umbrellas available for guests. My wireless internet has a strong signal in the space.
My place is not "loft-like" it IS a real open loft, in an 1800's Federal townhouse, as opposed to typically smaller rooms in these houses. Fully updated with climate control you set to your own preferences and lots of accessible electrical outlets you won't be crawling around to locate or unplugging other things from. Rest of house is old to very old with many rough edges, please be ready to cope w the idiosyncrasies of a 200 year old house.
All the charm of the historic townhouse combined with all the comfort of a new highrise.

We had a wonderful weekend in Hudson, thanks in no part to Terence's great loft space right on the main drag. As a first time Airbnb'er, Terence made everything very easy, from helpful notes hidden around the house to his own guide to Hudson's history, attractions, and restaurants. I will certainly visit again soon.
We had a wonderful stay at Terence's beautifully decorated and well taken care of loft. Couldn't recommend it more. Although I never met Terence in person, he communicated well and was a very good host.
Everything was great. Terence is a wonderful and thoughtful host. Checking in and out was completely smooth. We had a wonderful trip!
My girlfriend and I indulged a sudden desire to get out of the city. We rented a car, and came up to the lovely little town of Hudson. We were very pleasantly surprised by both the accommodations and the location. You're situated in literally the best spot. The loft space is...(pardon my French) fucking cool. Spacious and stylish. There's a turntable with a stellar collection of classic albums, and a nice some Bose speaker system. Everything about the place is cool, and Terrence is a kind and generous host. I wish I could've stayed another night, and I'm looking forward to the spring when we can head up there with bikes, and lazily ride around all day. Till then!
We had a great time at Terence's! Everything is very well planned out so that you can enjoy your stay from beginning to end. We stayed in the loft for four days in January and despite snow and freezing temperatures outside it was very cozy! We played music from the vinyl collection, browsed through the local guide books and lounged on the comfy couch. Location couldn't be better. Note that the loft is open to the stairwell and that the bathroom is a flight down - but a dedicated loft bathroom is already in the works. We would definitely come back!
We had a wonderful stay in this comfortable loft space. Very spacious room and the building is located in the heart of Hudson. The host was extremely helpful and made our quick trip to Hudson a delight.
Terence is the perfect host: friendly, nice and welcoming.
His house is lovely and the loft is very charming, quiet and sunny. I highly recommend staying there for a getaway in Hudson!
We had a very enjoyable visit w/Terence. The loft isn't fancy, but it's in a wonderful old house in a great location. The accommodation is spacious, airy and clean, and Terence is a gracious and relaxed host.
Terrence's house is an incredible and well-preserved three-story house on the main strip in Hudson. We rented the top floor - the open loft space - which is beautifully and subtly appointed. We really enjoyed chatting with Terrence before bed, learning about the history of the house and neighborhood and getting a tour. The bathroom, just a walk down the hall from the attic space, is where you'll find an awesome claw foot tub and 5-star bath products. The check-in and checkout process was a breeze: Terrence had a key waiting for us and a place for us to deposit our keys before we left. His recommendations for brunch were great. He even offered to give us filing cabinets as we had explained that we just moved and we need of some. Overall a great experience!
My fiancé and I had a great 2 night stay at Terence's. While we never meet in person he still managed to make us feel very welcome. Terence was also very accommodating to a last minute date change that we requested. The room (downstairs room) was spacious, spotless and cozy. The location was prime. I couldn't be happier with the experience.
