I have available a 15' x 9" (135 sq. ft.) bedroom equipped with a Queen-size bed, dresser drawer, desk and cable television. This bedroom is part of a 3 bedroom apartment. All guests have access to the kitchen, living room, dining room and full bathroom (toilet, sink, bathtub, and shower).
Across the street from Saint Nicholas Park, this apartment is surrounded by notable landmarks in every direction. Whether it's the infamous Strivers' Row, or the architecturally unique Hamilton Heights area once owned by Alexander Hamilton, or the historic City College of New York City campus, or even the legendary Apollo Theater, no landmark is more than a 15-minute walk away.
Public transit (buses, trains) is available one block away, and taxi cabs can be hailed in front of the building. JFK International Airport is about a half-hour away by car or an hour and a half by train.
There are delis and restaurants of various cuisines located throughout the area, as well as the typical city spots like pharmacies, supermarkets, fast food places, parks, laundromats, etc.
Whether you're looking for a cheap way to visit Manhattan, a place to rest between work or classes, or just somewhere to hang out, this is the place for you.

This is a clean, quiet room. I was able to come and go at odd hours without a problem. The apartment was close to the C train and walking distance to the A train. The area has good coffee and brunch places nearby. I didn't see the host much but he was friendly and helpful when we did interact.
I called Cleveland when I was on the way, and he was waiting for me outside his building when I arrived, which was very nice. His place is very clean, he showed me around. He is very quiet, which was nice. The bathroom was spotless. Cleveland did everything he could to make me feel comfortable and welcome. I left quite early in the morning, and he made sure he was up and about to say farewell. I was somewhat familiar with his neighborhood. It is opposite a beautiful park. I could walk where I liked, or catch a bus or subway within a block of the apt. I never had to use a taxi, including getting to and from LaGuardia airport. Instead of a $60 cab fare each way, I had a $2.75 city bus ride. I have nothing negative to say. The room rate was very reasonable, so it is perfect for anyone who wants to spend time in NY without spending a fortune. The building is an older building, but I found it to be charming.
It was my pleasure to be Cleveland's guest for four nights. Your apartment is comfortable and convenient. You are easy to share time with, flexible and accommodating. Thanks!
The room (especially the bed and linens) was clean, neat and uncluttered. Radiator heat kept the room perfectly comfortable in the winter, and there is a beautiful view of the Gothic-style New York college across the street. Cleveland was very friendly and helpful. The common areas were not very often in use by the people living here, so it did not get crowded. Overall, this was a good experience.
Cleveland was really welcoming and everything was perfect. He made us feel at ease as soon as we got there. We slept very well after a long day in the city. Great location, great room and great view!
I’m amazed by Cleveland’s speedy response to my booking request. I needed a place very last minute—at 9:35 p.m. on a Monday night. I sent Cleveland a message, and he responded within 5 minutes, offering me a room in his house. I’ve never had such quick turnaround with Airbnb.
Cleveland is really nice and generous. The apartment is a block away from the subway, which was convenient for me.
As for the space, the bedroom was a nice size, with a couch and a desk across from the bed. The bed was comfy, and even with my late notice, Cleveland had the room in perfect shape.
The one downside is for people like me who are sensitive to smells. Cleveland’s place smelled like he’d been burning incense or sage. It was pretty strong, and so I kept my window open in my bedroom to air things out. I slept fine, and it wasn’t a big deal, but it’s worth mentioning, since some people might mind. Also, the rest of the apartment is small (it’s NYC), and so what little time I spent at Cleveland’s place, I spent in the bedroom; there’s not a ton of common space to share.
Thanks again for the stay, Cleveland!
Cleveland welcomed us.He is also very delicate to our (website hidden) we felt very convient. His apt is very easy to find and very near to subway.
