  • This was our fist airbnb stay. We have bnb'd around Ireland and a bit in Europe. We will definently be using the service more in the future!

As for Philip and Mary Jo, you couldn't ask for nicer hosts! Lots of good advice on things we enjoyed seeing and yummy places to eat! We enjoyed long talks with Philip about everything from local gossip to world history. Mary Jo was great too but had a tighter schedule so we didn't get to know her as well. Dixie, the dog was a great host also, giving us just the right amount of "dog fix" as we were missing our beasts...

The house and grounds are just delightful! And the flock of goats are fun too. The house is nice and quiet, beautifully decorated and comfy.

We would definently recommend and stay here again if we get back to the area!

  • Both Philip and Mary Jo were very accommodating, even on short notice. We loved the beautifully decorated home and the well appointed room. The king bed was super comfy and the towels extra fluffy. Philip made us a delicious veggie omelette for breakfast and was willing to share many wonderful travel stories. We really enjoyed our stay and meeting both Mary Jo and Philip and would love to return sometime. Highly recommended!

  • Antebellum exceeded all expectations. Very quiet neighborhood. Easy to find.

  • Entering the Antebellum Country Farmhouse was like stepping back in time. Philip and Mary Jo are excellent stewards of this historic treasure and we were lucky to have them share it with us. Our accommodations made us fell like honored guests, but gave us plenty of privacy. We loved the rural setting, but were close to several great local dining options and only ten minutes from Harrisonburg's entertainment and shopping options as well as JMU.

Our accommodations were as described and very comfortable. The Morrisseys provided good pre-arrival communications and are entertaining and engaging hosts. We immediately felt at home and in the company of good friends. Philip cooked a mean breakfast for us and Mary Jo even offered suggestions about our upcoming kitchen renovations. We plan to return.

  • House was great, and pretty easy to find. Wonderful property, and cute little goats! Philip and Mary Jo were pleasant to talk to, and Philip made a great breakfast.

  • Philip and Mary Jo were awesome! My son waited until the last minute to give us his graduation date so there were no available hotel rooms in the area. A friend suggested AirBnB and I found the Antebellum Country Farmhouse. Right up my alley! It couldn't have been a nice place and I really enjoyed my conversation with Mary Jo! I hope they found our little gift at their door.

  • We had a wonderful stay with Philip and Mary Jo. Mary greeted us and when we asked to see the goats at their home she even let us hold a two day old kid! The bed was absolutely heavenly and we slept like rocks. Philip made us a lovely breakfast and recommended some great local sites to visit for hiking.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed with Mary Jo and Philip for a quick weekend getaway, and immensely enjoyed ourselves! We biked up to Massanutten Resort, enjoyed a great dinner at Hank's BBQ (recommended by our hosts), hit the winery Sunday afternoon, and then jotted over to Skyline drive to enjoy a hike. Mary Jo and Philip were delightful to chat with, and served a stellar pancakes and fruit breakfast. We would definitely stay there again.

  • We had a lovely stay at Philip and Mary Jo's house. The room was warm, comfortable (the Temperpedic mattress is excellent), and private, and the Morrisseys cooked up a storm of a breakfast for us. They were wonderful company, their home is well situated near to many wineries, Shenandoah, and also to Staunton, where we found some good restaurants for dinner. As a plus, the goats were quite friendly.

  • Phillip and Mary Jo were more than gracious hosts. I can honestly say that I would stay with them again and I would highly recommend them.

They have a beautiful old home in an area full of things to do. We went to Cross Keys Vinyard and hung out in downtown Harrisonburg.

The memory foam bed was awesome, they have a sweet dog named Dixie and a bunch of goats. What more could you ask for?

Breakfast was excellent as well. That is when we actually got to know them a little better. After a couple hours of random conversation, we were on our way. Great people! Thanks again Phillip and Mary Jo.
