About This Listing
Modern 1 BR unit with separate study facing directly on to beautiful Redfern Park. Enjoy Sydney's epic NYE festivities while having a comfortable base to explore close to the city. Convenient and comfortable, with a pool to cool off with.
The apartment itself is modern and bright, with simple furnishings. There's also tiled floors and a _really nice_ high pressure shower. Washing machine on site, as well as wireless internet for the resident web designer and his guests. Swimming pool and BBQ are available downstairs in the building's common areas... perfect for the hot summer days.
We are less than 10 minutes walk from Central Railway Station and/or Redfern Station, Haymarket and a well-frequented bus stop with several routes that will easily get you down to Circular Quay for sightseeing.
Yet we are located on the quieter part of the street with much less road traffic than further down the road. Previously a troubled neighbourhood, Redfern is rejuvenating on every corner, featuring hidden gem restaurants, top notch cafes and three yoga studios. The coffee at Coffee Tea and Me is particularly excellent. However, you might just want to stay in and take in the brilliant park view seen right from our terrace?

Interaction with Guests
Other than getting introduced, the place is yours and we'll give you total privacy.
Up and coming trendy neighbourhood. Cafes, park, and the proximity to the city. Plenty of small bars popping up and great little restaurants.
Redfern Train Station is five minutes walk away and there is a bus stop and/or taxis passing by 100 metres from the front door. Central Train Station is 10 minutes walk away.
Other Things to Note
There is no air conditioning in the unit but it is cooler than the outside during the summer afternoons and we often jump into the pool to cool off.
We have a few basic rules surrounding the kitchen, furniture and care of the amenities, but nothing too complicated, we think!
The apartment is a block shared with several units, and we hate it when our neighbours are noisy at night, and so we also need you to keep things indoors and the music quiet after a certain hour.
The drier isn't working too well at the moment, so be aware that you'll need to hang dry your clothes.
Other than that, a few more simple notes will come after confirmation.
Mikey is a delightful young man..very concerned that our needs were fully met.
His apartment is in a wonderfully convenient location. We were totally satisfied with our stay and will happily use him on future trips to Sydney.
Mickey's place is absolutely amazing! Don't be fooled by it's small appearance, because everything you need is perfectly stored away in the cupboards and storages, very neat and modern. The whole apartment was very well equipped and clean, from kitchen to bathroom. There's even a parking spot we could use. It's location in Redfern is just perfect, CBD is no more than a 10-15 minutes walk and the green park in front of the unit gives a pleasant view from the balcony. Mickey was excellent in it's communication and we would love to come back to his place!
Clean, spacious and light, this beautifully designed apartment is ideal for a couple (with or without a child) looking for a central Sydney location.
Overlooking the green oasis of Redfern Park, the apartment is located next to both an excellent supermarket and a selection of great cafes, pubs and restaurants. Walk just ten minutes and you're in the hip neighbourhood of Surry Hills, home to countless drinking and eating establishments. If you love city living, this is where you want to be.
Mikey is a friendly, reliable host and really easy to deal with. He left us a great list of recommended places in the area, which proved invaluable as we got to know the place. We'd highly recommend him – and the apartment.
Great location for our needs. Shopping for food very easy. Apartment, spotless, modern and comfortable. Large living area opening onto balcony. Great view of the park and great place to watch the park life. Mikey accommodating, mindful, warm and friendly. Secure parking a great bonus in the heart of Sydney. Starter food supplies, quality soaps and the bunch of flowers a nice welcoming touch. Tips and maps on where to eat a great help for out of town guests like us.
Would recommend this great apartment with a great host. Complex quiet and well maintained.
Mikey's place is wonderfully close to Redfern and Central station. The park opposite is a joy to look at from the balcony. The apartment was beautifully clean and elegant, with a well equipped kitchen, everything labeled. Home made marmalade was too yummy to resist, and our very warm and helpful contact Laura also left us with breakfast ingredients that were so gratefully received and devoured. There is a gorgeous swimming pool and picnic area within the complex. The secure car-park was a real decider for me, easy and spacious. There is a woolworth's just a few steps away from the door, so convenient. There are a few funky cafe's in the area, also a homely pub and a very good Thai take away, open late. I could not have wished for a prettier, cleaner, better apartment and a kinder host. I will certainly stay again with my OS guests :-) Thanks Mikey
Perfectly located only minutes from the city, this tranquil apartment is ideal for the travelling couple or young family looking for a touch of class with the best of Sydney at your doorstep. With nothing to disturb you other than the playful tones of children in the park, Amy and I highly recommend Mikey and Belle's apartment. Everything is exactly as described in the ad. Our pleasant hosts had clearly gone to a lot of trouble to ensure we needed for nothing during our stay, including a fresh loaf for breakfast to go with a fridge full of breakfast delights. Not to mention countless books, magazines and CDs to keep us entertained and relaxed.
The apartment is simply stunning. A fresh renovation, absolutely spotless, and beautifully presented with five star finishing touches in the bathroom and bedroom. It is everything Amy and I have come to expect of a five star room, only better, as we didn’t have to deal with lining up to check in, crowds, or expensive parking. Mikey met us at his front door as agreed, showed us to the apartment and the parking, gave us the keys and left us to relax and enjoy our stay. The high speed Wi-Fi was easy to access, with clear instructions, and a list of recommended dining locations, with maps and directions, with some of Sydney’s best dining, both up market and casual all within walking distance.
What ever you fancy, you will find it here. If its not here, its but a short stroll or taxi ride, (easily found at the end of the street). If you’re looking for affordable perfection in Sydney, stop looking. You’ve found it!
About the Host, Mikey
Heya! I'm Mikey and I'm a roving travel writer and videographer plus web designer. I love local places to stay when I visit a city as I feel it gives a much better experience than any hotel could. I love AirBnB in that it promotes one-to-one connections between people.
I've been travelling for quite a few years and have been really lucky to visit so many countries and experience what our world is really about. My first job was a corporate job in Beijing that was an interesting experience but not really my style. Later on, Intrepid Travel hired me as a tour leader and guess what happened: I even met my future wife while working as her guide!
Before getting married we also spent three years in Bangladesh, in which we worked as development volunteers. We learned that experiences like that changed us way more than we changed Bangladesh with our presence. We began our travel media careers in Bangladesh by publishing a new guidebook with Bradt Travel Guides.
