Exceptional in every way you may imagine.
Utmost attention is given to a traveller's needs by the circumspect and very friendly staff.
The adorable house is surrounded by a large, exquisitely maintained garden, swimming pool included. Also it is well suited for workshops and small conferences.
Foremost, Dr. Marianne's spirit, enlightens the place with her generosity and attentiveness. I felt privileged to be her guest, in one word: I was treated like a long standing friend. That is much more than I could have hoped for.
We had an amazing time at 4Living. This place is even more magical than the online pictures or description could tell.
The hosts and staff gave us a wonderful warm welcome and put together lovely breakfasts for us on the veranda each day.
Even though our favorite restaurants are a quick drive away we opted to spend the evenings on the back patio of 4 Living awash in the smell of the jasmine and sound of the birds in the back yard.
What a great place to stay! Very warm and welcoming hosting from Marianne and Maggie, with lots of thoughtful help and suggestions with everything from directions to museums, restaurants, shopping and a tyre repair place (!) to books on San rock paintings for browsing. Great breakfasts always including fresh fruit, on a verandah overlooking a lovely garden, where I was welcome to spend as much time as I wanted. My room was large and ensuite, a little separated from the main house, with my own cooking facilities.
Staying here also supports a yoga project in a local under-resourced community - this is a heartful place.
We stayed at 4Living for approximately a month during a business engagement in Sandton. The location and accommodations were perfectly suited to our needs as a group of four. The back yard veranda offered an ideal area to finish various pieces of work comfortably, while the pool, trampoline, and exceptional gardens provided much needed distractions when needed.
As a host, Marianne was extremely accommodating and a valuable resource for suggestions of what to do around Johannesburg. One night, she even picked our group up from a cricket match! Along with the delicious breakfast, Maggie would make us a fresh salad each evening, which was great to return to after a day of work.
If we return to Johannesburg for business once more, 4Living will be at the top of our list for places to stay.
