The Space

@Welcome! Welcome!

Hi there, we live in an apartment complex right in the CBD. We are approximately 20 minutes to the International and Domestic Airports with all of the benefits of being right in the heart of Melbourne.

We have two rooms available so if you are not able to book this room, please click on our 'other room' on the left hand side of this page, as we might have space available for your dates :)

Within 5km you can be at the beach at Port Melbourne, floating away on the Spirit of Tasmania or just kicking the sand or enjoying a drink and stroll on a lazy afternoon. You can walk straight out the door and be at your favourite restaurant or cafes or just enjoy the beauty of the wharf watching the boats come in and the rowing and kayaks. Yes we are right on the water in the heart of the city (you can hire a boat or take a cruise along the water).

Melbourne is the city of choices and boy do we have choices right at our door - You will not need a car to get anywhere. The post office and grocery shop is across the road - 50m including the chemist, newsagent and bakery, everything else is so close also, you can walk or catch the free tram.

We love living here as we are so close to everything, the city, the airport, the parks, the bike-ways, transport, shops, restaurants and everything else you may need. We are surrounded by the Yarra River and lovely green parks.

The tram stops right outside (250m), as does the train (800m). The free tram goes around the city is available at this stop and we are across the road from the shops and cafe's and banks plus the post office and a bakery.

The amazing Ethiad stadium is 2 minute's walk and we are within walking distance to Harbour Town and DFO- famous cheap shopping. The free tram and free bus can take you there also.

The city offers a free tram service which you can jump on near our complex and ride around the city and back home for your shopping or sight seeing. You are free to get on and off any time as much as you like and the same goes for the free bus.

We are close to Chinatown, Southbank, Port Melbourne, Albert Park, St Kilda, Moonee Valley and Randwick Racecourses, Footscray, Melbourne Cricket Ground, Rod Laver Arena for Tennis and a quick ride to anything else you may want.

We are very central to everything in Melbourne. The Royal Melbourne Hospital and Children's Hospital is 10 minutes away. We have the local medical centre, doctor and a chemist only across the road (1 minute walk).

If there is anything special you would like to do on your stay, please let us know and we will help you arrange it and make it happen :) If you wish to go camping, we have camping equipment including a tent and camp mattress and cooking gear so you can explore the great outdoors while you are here.

@!!!Christmas and New Years 2013!!!
Great News to all those that have asked, we do have our apartment available for the Christmas and New Years. It is available in all three rooms. Check-in date must be before the 13th of December as we leave on holidays ourselves to New Zealand. You are welcome to stay as long as you like past Christmas Day. This will ensure we can put up the Christmas Tree and have your Christmas Gifts bought and placed under the tree. The atmosphere is fantastic from our apartment as we have fireworks outside our balcony for Christmas and New Years and you will see our city light up.

Our apartment is a large three bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms and plenty of hot water for all when it comes to taking a shower or bath. The unit is on the 28 floor of a brand new high rise and is in a secluded and secure part of the complex where nobody enters without permissions.

We have a lush green garden outside our indoor heated swimming pool and outdoor BBQ area. You can easily access these secure areas with the security swipe card. It feels so nice walking to the pool and entering at the apartment, its like a luxury resort (you will see what I mean when you get here).

When you arrive, we will give you your own set of keys and security swipe card, this will enable you to come and go as you please. We do not mind if you go out for the night and want to come home late into the evening or even early in the morning. You are able to come and go as you please :)

Our dining and lounge over look the magnificent Yarra River and Docklands with a view of the Balti and West Gate bridges. During the day you can see the sailing boats bobbing over the waves in the bay.

Your bedroom is bright, airy and inviting with double glazed tinted glass windows, bringing the outdoors in with push out windows making the room very pleasant and cosy in winter and breezy during summer, with the benefit of shutting the noise out, (this can be seen in the room photos). The blinds are roll up blinds and can be shut from the ceiling down to the floor and will shut the outdoors out completely including the sunlight and noise if you so require.

The large lounge area has floor to ceiling glass walls that allow a panoramic view of the port, Docklands and parts of the city. Melbourne city sets off their fireworks at Docklands, we sit in our lounge room and enjoy the fun and wonder of them during New Years, Christmas and Australia Day. We have a 55 inch TV, Blue-ray DVD player and surround sound system so enjoying your favourite TV show or videos is no worry including 3D DVDs.

The apartment is a secured electronic card and key complex which gives you a sense of security and well-being without the worry of strangers entering the complex.

Our rate includes a continental breakfast (variety of cereal, fruit, juice, tea/coffee, toast and jam or vegemite and honey etc.),anything else just ask - including gluten free and dairy free options. Everyone has commented on how great their breakfast is and we are able to make sure there is no cross contamination of foods or meats :)

The complex has 25m indoor heated swimming pool and a hot spa and sauna. They are fully enclosed from the elements. There are plenty of sun chairs and lounge chairs for you to laze around. For convenience in the pool area a shower and toilet are there for those that need to go to the loo while swimming and shower before returning to the unit. There is also a dedicated gym area with all brand new equipment including bicyle, free weights and treadmills.

The facilities of the unit is a rather big kitchen with a 4 burner stove and oven, microwave and dishwasher. Included in the unit is a large front loading washing machine and dryer, which you are free to use at your leisure, we have a clothes tree for hanging clothes on the veranda also.

WIFI is available in the Lobby. The building has unlimited free WIFI. There are comfortable couches and chairs with cushions to sit on in and you do not need a password to connect. This can be accessed in the Lobby 24 hours. You just need to have your WIFI enabled on your computer or phone to connect automatically any time of the day or evening.

The bedroom is spacious, with a double size bed, side table with lamp. The room has a built in wardrobe which you have full use of. An iron and ironing board is available for you also.

Zaneta and I will provide good quality (phone number hidden)ad linen & clean towels for your visit which will be washed and sanitised after every departure and on a weekly basis for long stays. Zaneta is keen to make you feel welcome at every stage and if available will help plan your itinerary while you are here. We love to go that extra mile and spoil our guests right to the core. :)

We have helped many see as much of Melbourne as they can with only a short time.

The kitchen is large enough for everyone to prepare meals. As Zaneta is vegetarian (Pescetarian), celiac and lactose intolerant, we are used to dietary needs and making sure there isn't any cross (email hidden)is doesn't mean that meat will not be allowed in the kitchen as I am a meat eater and I often cook a steak or chicken or seafood on the BBQ outside.

If you wish to buy and cook your own food that is OK also. Just let us know what time you require to use the kitchen and we will make sure we have it clean and available for your use, we have plenty of saucepans, fry pans and oven dishes, glasses and cutlery etc.... and a dedicated fridge for all guests. Just make yourself at home. If going out to dinner we would love for you to join us at one of the fantastic local restaurants (we love fine dining).

The airport is 20 minutes away. I find the best option is the Skybus. It is an express bus straight to Southern Cross Station. The red bus stops outside the terminal and is only $17 each way or you can buy a return ticket for $28. Otherwise there is taxi from the airport which will get you to my home. Cost is approximately $55 - 65 per trip.

Southern Cross Station is 10 minutes walk up the road if you do want to catch a train. Please let us know the details of your flight and which airline you will be on, when it is arriving and where you are coming from so we can look these details up and know if the plane is on time or running late.

Numerous shopping opportunities close to the lively cultural, trendy and night-life areas on your doorstep. The famous Harbour Town is a quick walk, tram or drive away (1km) which has factory outlets of major brands at a reduced cost. A large and beautiful market very near by, reputed to be one of the most interesting markets in Melbourne. At Docklands we have food and arts and craft markets on some Saturdays and Sundays also.

My apartment is close to several bus stops (200m), train station (5 min walk) and trams (local service, 1 min walk). Melbourne CBD is literally across the road and as we live on the Wharf (local restaurant precinct) with cafes, and Japanese, Italian, contemporary restaurants, fish and chip shop and the like we are close to everything and do not need a car.

Mix it with the socialites, fashionists and race goers. Race days are when this area embraces a carnival atmosphere, making the Racecourse, the place to be seen especially on Saturdays and Public Holidays.

With cycling being a key feature of the Melbourne City Councils planning, Docklands is blessed with access to a number of exciting bike-ways. The cycle network also extends for many miles in all directions.

Our apartment is on the 28th floor so no ugly stairs to climb it is fast elevator all the way to the top! The complex and our apartment can be accessed by wheelchair easily from front door to our apartment door. Even the swimming pool has a easy access.

We really hope you enjoy your stay and will work very hard to make it that extra special experience you deserve.

Happy travels!

Please help yourself to breakfast each day. There is toast, jam, Vegemite or honey available and cereal if you please. Tea and coffee is available and milk and orange juice is in the fridge.

Interaction with Guests

We interact with all our guests as much or as little as they would like. Please feel free to discuss your plans with us or ask any questions. We really want you to have a fantastic stay in our home and make this your home also for the time you are here.

We are not like other hosts that are nosey and watch everything you do in our home. We are very easy going and let you enjoy our home like it was your home. You are free to come and go as you please at any time you please. You are free to switch the tv on and change the channels to the program you want to watch. Past guests have bought food and put it on their own little shelf in the fridge and cooked their breakfast and ate it outside on the balcony overlooking the wonderful view. Others come out to restaurants with us and join in when we have our BBQ in the park. Everybody is different and they have their own expectations. Some come and go and we don't even see them for the whole time they are here. We don't mind if you want to sit with us on the couch and talk or watch TV or just chill out and hang with us. It is your holiday and your choice. We welcome everyone to come have a chat.

The Neighborhood

Our neighbourhood is the best. We have everything we ever need right here in our street. Everything you need is across the road from banks, groceries, bakery, chemist (drug store), doctors, subway cafes, restaurants, tram stops, parks, BBQ areas, community centre and the harbour. We are in a quiet part of the city, no major traffic comes down our street yet we are only 10 minutes walk to the CBD or Southbank which has restaurants, DFO, Crown Casino, Fed Square. This is City Living without the huge traffic noise.

Getting around

Public transport across the road. Tram stops within 100m, Free Trams within 250m and Southern Cross station within 850m. Why catch public transport if you don't need to, we can walk to almost everything around the city.

Other Things to Note

We are a very friendly couple who love helping people. Don't be shy to ask us anything. We will do our best to make it happen.

We don't have a spare car space but if you have a car, our neighbour will charge $10 per night to store your car in our building if you need secure car parking.

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • I had the most fantastic, and memorable time with Tricia and Zaneta. If you want to truly experience Melbourne in its entirety, don't hesitate to stay with them. They are welcoming and friendly people and you will have a great time playing with their little poodle.

The room itself is spacious; the bed is very comfortable. The view is fantastic. But the best part about the apartment is its proximity to everything. The walk to southern cross station is no longer than 7 minutes.

If you plan to visit Melbourne, there's no better place to stay then with Tricia and Zaneta.

    Thank you for the experience.

Hi Yousif, thanks for your great review. We love it when people have a great time and we really enjoyed having a BBQ and going out to dinner with you. We can't wait to visit you in Canada one day! Hope you had a great time at the Formula One in Malaysia.

  • Tricia and Zaneta are great generous genuine hosts. They invited us for a BBQ and I enjoyed just hanging around in the house with them and Asha. The room rocks and they allow us to use the dryer. Of course the scenery is a definite plus. Very clean and great location. Not far from trams and the free tram is not far.

    Response from Tricia And Zaneta:

We are glad you both enjoyed the BBQ and 'hanging' around with us. Hahaha everyone is welcome to use the washer and dryer but of course this isn't the best feature of staying with us of course!!!! We do have an amazing view day and night and it is great to sit out on the balcony eating dinner or breakfast looking down at the river or the lights at night.

  • The location is great and the views of the Melbourne Docklands are awesome! Thank you so much Tricia and Zaneta for your kind hospitality, delicious dinner and great company.

Thanks Carmen. See you next time.

  • Tricia and Zaneta's modern apartment (on the 28th floor!) has great views of the Docklands area. It's only a 15-20 minute walk from the Bourke St Mall, but I appreciated the nearby tram stop on the really hot days.

Tricia and Zaneta themselves were friendly, welcoming and were very happy to give advice about things to see, and were more than happy to listen to the stories of my daily adventures. Their little puppy was simply adorable and I enjoyed playing with her every opportunity I got.

  • BEST TRIP EVER!!! I've traveled a good amount and started using AirBnB only this year and the experience keeps getting better - after staying with Trisha and Zaneta, even my buddy says why would anyone want to stay in a hotel?!?!

Amazing hosts!!! We feel like there were two parts to our trip to Melbourne - the Aussie Open and Melbourne with T and Z(ed)!!!

Bed was so comfortable…after galavanting around the city all day, it was always so relaxing to flop down in the bed!!! The views were great to wake up to…great view of the water and you can see the rowers (I'm a rower so maybe biased)!!! I used to live in NYC and you get a high rise stay at their place with a view. Staying with them feels like we're living it up!!!

Conveniently located - free tram (and the not so free ones) only a couple of blocks away!!! Easy walk along the Yarra…if we were coming home really late but wanted to get food (my buddy and I like to eat!!!) we'd walk along the Southbank and so many places open and nightlife…and an easy nice walk home!!!

Too many good things to say!!! Would definitely stay there next time…we wouldn't even think of not staying there…we're family now…whether they like it or not!!! Ha!

    Love ya mums!!!

  • Tricia and Zaneta were great hosts! Warm and easy going and really fun to be around. We were welcomed to a delicious cocktail the evening we arrived. Their little teacup poodle A'ishah was friendly and well behaved - simply adorable.

I'd highly recommend staying with Zaneta and Tricia to anyone visiting Melbourne. No regrets!

  • Tricia and Zaneta are fantastic hosts and their home is absolutely beautiful. We stayed with them for a week during our recent visit to Melbourne and could not have had a better experience.

The apartment is perfectly located, right next to a tram station and within walking distance of all the attractions in the CBD. The room is very quiet and comfortable. The description and pictures are accurate but it is actually more beautiful in person. We even took advantage of the pool and spa to unwind after busy days trekking around the city.

Tricia and Zaneta make an effort to make you feel right at home. There is even a supermarket less than a block away where you can get any groceries or items they might not have.

Overall i would recommend their home to anyone visiting Melbourne and looking for a quiet, upscale place to rest and relax.

  • Had a wonderful stay with Tricia, Zaneta and A'isha - the cutest, tiniest dog I've ever seen!

The apartment and Convesso tower are absolutely amazing, incredible views, and the sauna and pool are great.

Very comfy bed and the shower is like standing under Niagara during the rains!

Very friendly and welcoming, and gave me some excellent guidance for what to see.

    What more could you want?
