Our apartment is a typical Amsterdam 1910s 'pijpenla' (pipe drawer): a rectangular space with a balcony at each end. The spacious, light apartment is on the second floor and counts ca. 60m2. It has a separate kitchen with all amenities, a bathroom with shower and toilet and a separate bedroom behind characteristic vintage glass doors. It’s an ideal base from which to explore Amsterdam. The city centre is a 10 minute bike ride away. One further note: we have a cat, so beware if you are allergic.
Our apartment is located in Amsterdam-Oost (East), an up and coming area with plenty of bar, restaurant and grocery shopping opportunities just around the corner. Our favourite is Brouwerij 't IJ, a low-key but bustling brewery in a mill with the best beer in town! Or enjoy the Turkish lokantas, Thai options, student hangout and neighbourhood cinema Studio K, or sit down at Wilde Zwijnen (Wild Boars) for a gourmet dinner.
Near a train station and various tram and bus options. Wifi available, of course. If needed, our sofa makes a comfortable bed for a third person. A fold-out toddlers' bed sleeps anyone up to about four!
Our place will really make you feel at home - and amidst the real Amsterdam.

Stayed in the apartment over New Years Eve with a good friend and I could not have wished for a better stay. We were greeted by the host and got some good advice and tips before we were left with the apartment. Keeping in touch with the host, with quick answers to any questions made the stay that much easier! The apartment had all of the things promised, just as nice as in the pictures, and a great music collection to boot! Having Fiep, the cat, there was a real bonus. The location was also good, in a nice neighborhood, public transport nearby and walking distances, if the weather had been better. This is a place I can truly recommend!
Marjanne's apartment is just as beautiful as it looks in the pictures! Its warm and cosy, and Marjanne and Lisbeth were very welcoming with lots of helpful tips. In a lovely part of town, didn't feel touristy at all, but full of nice cafes and restaurants. And its well connected with Muiderpoort station just round the corner. It took a little while making friends with Fiep, but we got there in the end! Really recommend staying here, you'll be hard pushed to find anywhere better.
Very nice apartment with lots if character and great record collection and fully equipped. Fiep the cat is great too! Very well connected to the airport and the rest of Amsterdam this is altogether a great place to stay. Highly recommended.
We had a very nice time in the wonderful flat of Marjianne and with her lovely cat Fiepie. The location is perfect, centrally and quiet at the same time, with a nice balcony. Marjianne is a very helpful and friendly host, we felt very much at home. Thank you!
Even if we were really late, Marjanne was kind and smiling.
The appartement is amazing and close of the centrum with the tram.
Fliep is an adorable cat who like cuddle.
Thank you Marjanne !
My stay at Marjanne's was supremely excellent. It is very easy to get to from the airport -- the Muiderpoort train station is a 5-minute walk from their home. When you're traveling you cannot underestimate the necessity of ease. There are several trams passing nearby, but I enjoyed walking to the city centre and along the canal rings. Also, it is in an "ordinary" neighbourhood, outside of touristy bits, so you can just enjoy being there without feeling a crush of people around you and you get a slightly different perspective of the city the way. There are, however, some excellent things to do and places to see nearby, such as the Resistance Museum and the Bicycle Museum, a local brewery, etc. Marjanne and Lisbeth were very welcoming, their apartment was comfortable and bright, their bed was extremely comfortable, and their cat was a lovely little creature. I would be go back. Sans hesitation.
Marjanne place is beautiful and spacious. It's not far from sightseeing, just one stop from train or tram. It depends where you want to go.
She was really friendly and told us the interesting places to see in Amsterdam.
I recommend Marjaan place.
Marjanne & her lovely cat Fiep have a beautiful home! We enjoyed her great selection of records and breakfast on the balcony :-)
Me and my boyfriend spent 3 nights in Marjannes wonderful and cozy appartment and we enjoyed it a lot!
The appartment is like you see it in the pictures - really beautiful and you just want to stay forever. It is easy to reach if you arrive at the station Muiderpoort. Just a few minutes to walk. The area around is super nice to stroll around, to walk along the canal or take rest in the Flevopark. We highly recommend the best fries at "Badhuis" at Javaplein. There's a supermarket and a lot of vegtable shops around, some cafés, restaurants and a nice cinema.
De Pijp and the center are in walking distance if you like to walk abit, but it is quite easy to reach all other areas by bike or with the tram. It's really relaxed as there are no hostels with noisy tourists around.
Marjanne is really nice and provides a lot of information that is useful for the stay. Everything worked out and it was a wonderful stay in her appartment and Amsterdam. Unfortunately too short, but that's not Marjanne's mistake :-)
It was very convenient to get straight from airport to Marjanne's apartment. Apartment itself was very stylish, clean and spacious. Whole stay went very well thanks to hospitality we met there.
