Welcome to the Glamping Tent at Ol Losowan, a serene property nestled in the heart of Nairobi, close to the iconic Giraffe Manor and Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage.

The tent features a private kitchen, double bed, private bathroom and verandah area.

On the property we also have the main house, two other cottages and a tree hut. All guests can enjoy their own privacy, and share common areas like the 18 metre swimming pool, gazebo and sundowner area.

The space
Escape to our cozy and charming safari tent, nestled in a lush, serene environment.

The tent features a comfortable ensuite bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen, a welcoming verandah, and a walled garden for added privacy. Guests have access to shared amenities, including an 18-meter swimming pool, a beautifully landscaped garden, and an outdoor pool house.

Additional shared spaces include a trampoline, a tennis wall, and a veggie garden.

Located on the same property is the main house, Ol Losowan, where your hosts, Julie and Otto, reside. Despite the proximity, the tent offers a private retreat.

You’ll find several attractions nearby, including the Sheldrick Elephant Orpganage, Giraffe Centre, Matbronze, Cultiva Restaurant, Boho Restaurant, and Langata Link shops. Karen Blixen Museum, and the Galleria and Hub shopping malls are just a short drive away (10-25 minutes). Both Wilson Airport and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport are conveniently located within 25-45 minutes and 30-60 minutes, respectively.

This delightful tent is surrounded by nature, where you might spot monkeys and warthogs visiting. The garden is alive with butterflies and a variety of bird species, making it a perfect escape for nature lovers.

Guest access
Guests can enter through the main gate, where our friendly management team will welcome you. You’ll have full access to the entire tent.

In addition to the indoor spaces, you can make use of the beautiful garden, relax by the pool, unwind in the gazebo, and take advantage of the tennis wall and fitness area. Your stay promises comfort and leisure in this idyllic setting!

Other things to note
Our tent primarily offers a bed and breakfast experience, with a dedicated team ready to assist you. We can arrange laundry services, as well as provide a chef and driver upon request and with advance notice at an extra cost.

Each evening around 6 PM, we can arrange for sundowners around the outdoor fire. Enjoy a glass of wine or beer while feeding our garden bush babies (greater galagos) and sharing stories. Please note that this and any other exciting excursions must be booked in advance.

Nairobi boasts a wealth of activities, from the famous Giraffe Center and hiking in the Ngong Hills to thrilling game drives in Nairobi National Park and vibrant city tours. We can connect you with trusted guides to help organize these excursions, so feel free to reach out for assistance!

Remember, all activities should be booked in advance to ensure availability.

Ol Losowan means ‘place of the buffalo in Samburu’ as Julie is a lucky survivor from the buffalo on the wall of the main house. It is the home of Julie Church, (a fourth generation Kenyan, survivor, swimmer, marine and wildlife conservationist, adventurer, and founder of Ocean Sole the Flipflop Recycling company and now Seas4Life Safaris Conservation and Education) who has created a unique and beautiful place to stay in Nairobi by lovingly building two cozy double cottages (each with ensuite bathrooms and small kitchens – perfect for making that essential early morning coffee and private garden)
