About this listing
Hollis Hill bed and breakfast is a newly built log house in the heart of the West Dorset countryside. The village of Broadwindsor is a mere eight or so miles from the Jurassic Coastal market town of Bridport. We have good transport links - Crewkerne station (London mainline) is about ten minutes away and there are reasonable bus routes. We have plenty of off road parking.
Broadwindsor itself sits at the foot of Lewesdon Hill and there are numerous wonderful walks and cycle routes in the area. Enjoy a meal in our local pub with a pint of the locally brewed beer. The great houses of Montacute and Kingston Lacey are not too far away. There are also the beaches of West Bay and Burton Bradstock nearby and the glorious sands of Weymouth and Bournemouth a little further afield.
Our house is warm and welcoming. This bedroom has either twin beds or superking size double with an en suite shower and views over the countryside. Breakfast is served in the hall which has glass folding doors to let the summer in and a woodburner to keep the winter out! Enjoy a full English breakfast or delicious cooked alternative. You will be offered tea and piece of cake on arrival and there are tea and coffee facilities in the bedroom.
Nice new building with a helpful family. Enough room for two with an excellent breakfast. Beautiful view from the table if it hadn't rained. Easy check in and out.
This was my first experience of being an airbnb guest and I found it great. Cindy was welcoming and helpful, giving us information about the area and even suggesting events in the neighbourhood which we might like to go to. There is a lovely en suite and the room is comfortable and well furnished and, while not huge, it had everything we needed (even a thermos flask with cold milk for morning drinks). Breakfast (including home made bread) was in an open plan room with a wood burner and beautiful views over the countryside, which is peaceful and very quiet, but only about a five minute walk from the village. All in all, I'd do it again!
Beautiful place to stay, we only stayed one night but would have loved to stay longer and spend more time in the area. Room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Would recommend.
Thank you to Cindy and ken for their hospitality and welcoming atmosphere.
The house is beautiful and breakfast is tasty and fresh.
Cindy is a great host. She has been very friendly, interested in our condition and let us feel very welcome. The breakfast was very tasty and lovingly prepared by her (the self-made granola with the yogurt was delicious). My mother and I felt in love with the house- the rooms were comfortable, very clean and furnished beautifully. We enjoyed staying there (unfortunately for one night only) and can recommend the place highly! Thanks a lot for the opportunity of spending a night at such a lovely place.
We had a wonderful time at Cindy's. She welcomed us with tea and cakes (a huge hit with our 2 children) and the breakfast was outstanding. The views were beautiful, the entire house impeccable and the bed was really comfortable. Would love to go back and stay a few nights again soon!
Cindy has been a brilliant host and attended all our needs from the moment we arrived at her beautiful house.
She made us feel very welcome and gave us a true home-from-home experience.
Her house is lovely and reflect her warm-hearted host and in a marvellous location, completely surrounded by nature but with the village within easy reach.
We appreciated Cindy's attention to detail in setting up the rooms for her guests and we had all we needed for a comfortable stay.
She has been very helpful when asked for suggestions for places to visit to complete our trip on the south coast.
In the morning she prepared a finger-licking breakfast with home made and local products and before leaving she even packed a lovely home-made cake for us to take away.
Our stay at Cindy's house has been a real treat and we would love to come back and stay a little longer next time we return to this beautiful part of England.
Thank you, Cindy!
