I really loved the location! It doesn't feel touristy, but has everything you need (supermarket below, bakery opposite, cafes, bars etc.), and La Ramblas is only 10 mins walk. There are some really great restaurants and bars in the St. Antoni area. There is some noise from people outside the bar below on Friday/Saturday nights, but this is to be expected in Barcelona, and the bar closes earlier on weekdays.
The apartment is as described and as shown in the photos. I'm guessing the trendy refurb was a few years ago now, as its starting to look a little tired around the edges & a few things were worn or damaged. It is still however a pleasant, clean, spacious apartment.
When we visited in March the apartment was quite cold and there is no heating, so take your pj's that time of year! It is a shame that balcony access is restricted by the two air conditioning units on it. I'd also note that the dividing wall between the main bedroom and the living area does not reach the ceiling (I hadn't noticed this beforehand).
Itziar was a great host, very welcoming and accommodating. She couldn't have made our arrival easier and checked in with us throughout the stay to make sure we had everything we needed. When my partner was mugged she was very sympathetic and helpful.
Apartment is located in a great part of town, it is a busy street but with blackout blinds, air conditioning and double glazing we were not disturbed by the outside world. This is a great base if you are planning to be out and about exploring the city. I wouldn't necessary choose it if I was planning to spend a lot of time inside as the living area doesn't get any outside light, but a would definitely come again if I needed a place to rest my head and get cleaned up.
Itziar was a great host. She was very helpful and she gave us good information, communication was perfect. The flat is in a great location, with a lot of cool bars to have breakfast or lunch, close to public transports and taxi. The flat is bright but just in the 2 bedrooms, while the living room and the kitchen are a bit dark. Bedrooms are confortable. The bathroom is wide, the shower has a little problem with the shower head which needs to be fixed, but everything else was fine. I must just say that cleaning could have been even more thorough and rigorous,
but it is the only piece of advice I would give! I would recommend the apartment.
