This charming row house is located in the Ednor Gardens neighborhood of Baltimore. The spare bedroom is available for rent, and it is outfitted with a full-size bed, closet, nightstand, and lamp. The bedroom is located on the second floor of the house, as is the shared full bathroom. There is an additional half bath located in the basement. I have wi-fi, but no television. Light breakfast (cereal, fruit, juice, coffee and tea) is provided-- let me know if you have any preferences!
Please shoot me a message before attempting to book, and please also read the entire posting. Thanks! If you need additional space please check out my second listing-- Charming Row House in Charm City #2.
The house was built in 1928, and maintains its original charm-- there are hard wood floors throughout, the kitchen contains vintage features including a fully functional 1940's Chambers stove, and the living room has an art deco style gas fireplace. There is a sun room which is great for enjoying a cup of tea and a good book. There is also a deck with a grill. You're welcome to use the shared rooms throughout your stay.
If you are driving, there is plenty of free street parking available, as well as a private driveway in the back. If you won't have a car there are numerous bus lines within walking distance of the house, including a line that stops at Penn station.
My husband (Bobby) and I occupy the house, along with our two dogs-- a Staffordshire Terrier and a Boxer, and will be at the house during your visit. We both enjoy traveling, and also love meeting new people, hearing about your travels, and giving you tips for your stay.
The house is located one block from a YMCA (which participates in Y Away), about a mile from the Johns Hopkins Homewood Campus (and the Hopkins Shuttle), and less than a mile from the Waverly Farmers Market, Giant Grocery store, and Lake Montebello (an urban lake, with a path around it for running and biking). It is about 3.5 miles from Fells Point and the Inner Harbor (15 minutes drive or 1/2 hour on public transport) and 2.5 miles from Hampden (10 minute drive). There are a number of restaurants within walking distance (Thai, Chinese, carry out chicken, a diner), and it's about a mile and a half to Charles Village where there are even more restaurant/bar options.
The neighborhood is quiet and safe. It is tree lined and the residents are a mix of young professionals, families, and students from Hopkins and Morgan State.
Amy’s place was just what we were looking for: a quiet and safe neighborhood, easy parking, a clean room, proximity to fun activities, and a great price. When the description says “charming row house”, that’s no exaggeration: it really is charming and beautiful with antique details like the tile, the stove and the glass doorknobs!
Amy and her husband are warm and friendly and down-to-earth people. They even surprised us with two delicious chocolate almond croissants our first morning. They were helpful in giving us suggestions, and they really knew the city and neighborhoods well. We would definitely look them up again the next time we needed a place to stay in Baltimore.
The neighbourhood and the house is so cute that it actually reminded me of idealistic landscapes in second life. The bus transport to the center was perfect, there is a direct bus.
Thanks for everything!
I had a lovely four month stay with Amy and Bobby and their two endearing while well-behaved dogs, Clement and Petunia. Their charming row home includes a sun room, cozy fire place, and a beautiful ceiling painting in the dining room. The Waverly neighborhood is both quiet and quaint with easy access to the community YMCA, farmers' market and John Hopkins University. I found Amy's street to be safe, and never had any problems finding parking.
Amy and Bobby are excellent hosts, fascinating people, and genuinely good friends. I would recommend staying with them to anyone visiting Baltimore, and if they ever find themselves in Cleveland, Ohio, I hope to see them.
Amy was an awesome host and kind enough to share her space with me for 7 weeks. She is always knows what's going on around the city which is a huge advantage and she's always welcome to stay with me wherever it is that I am:)
I had a wonderful month long stay with Amy. She was more accommodating and generous than I could ever had imagined. The house was clean, comfortable and relaxing. The neighborhood was nice with a grocery store, restaurants and parks near by. I would highly recommend if people need a place to stay in Baltimore they should get in contact with Amy.
Staying at Amy's was a pleasant experience. The room is cleaner and more comfortable than most places that I've stayed through AirBnB and very affordable. I didn't see much of Amy as our schedules did not overlap but her housemates were extremely helpful and nice to me. Would definitely recommend staying at Amy's!
My stay at Amy's house was wonderful. She is a gracious hostess, the room was clean and comfortable, and everything was just great. The neighborhood is quiet and friendly. I especially appreciated the easy and plentiful parking right outside the front door. The shared bathroom, kitchen and living areas worked out just fine. I would definitely stay again.
Amy was a great host. Her home is in a quaint residential neighborhood. The house was extremely clean and neat. I really enjoyed relaxing on the sunporch. Communication before the visit was excellent, and everything was as described in the listing. I met Amy at the end of my visit, and she is a friendly, pleasant person. I would definitely stay at Amy's place again!
I have been living here for 3 months and I can say Amy's place is just the best place to stay in Baltimore! You will be in a big sunny room, with plenty of space for yourself, but you will also enjoy a huge living room, and a solarium to read, relax or just stay in silence. The ktichen is cool, very vintage, and works perfectly. There is also a small outdoor courtyard to have breakfast or get some sun-tanned. Besides, it's very convenient to have washing machine and dryer in the basement.
Amy is, on the other hand, a great host. She lent me a bike, introduced me to her friends, gave me a ride to the campus, and cooked for me. We had a great time and, at the end, we were always three people at home, other airbnb guests, Amy and me, people I can call my friends today.. Amy is one of them. She provides the perfect place to feel as you were at home... both privacy and complicity at Amy's.
I highly recommend her airbnb house!
Amy was an excellent host. She is very kind and considerate. Loved the muffins and cookies she baked but my favourite was the banana bread. Lovely little neighbourhood close to bus routes, grocery store and a little lake to run around. Amy was good at giving all the information I needed about the city and getting around. It definitely made my transition to the city and a different country much easier. Sad to move but I needed to find a permanent home in the city. AND yes of course a very lovely home!
I have never used this website before but I would definitely recommend it to everyone I know it was such a good experience.
